This vacation home is perfectly situated in the middle of a private gated Golf Course community known as Citrus Hills Village, and has everything for your comfort and enjoyment. With temperatures averaging 72 degrees year round, Citrus County is one of the best locations in the state of Florida. Cool breezes off the Gulf of Mexico in summer feel heavenly and warmer temperatures in the winter extend the enjoyment through all four seasons.
The community offers challenging public golf courses, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor dinning as well as some terrific shopping. A quick 25 minute drive to the beach will lead you to Fort Island State Park.
The home is located between the Towns of Inverness & Hernando, off the Gulf to Lake Highway, just minutes from restaurants, shopping centers, local activities & attractions. Tampa and Orlando airports are located approximately 1 to 1-1/2 hours south.
The property is located less then 10 miles from Crystal River and Homosassa attractions. You can have a fun time taking riverboat tours, swimming with manatees, scuba diving, or even fishing in the salt water. A day trip to Orlando (Disney World) or Tampa (Bush Gardens) is just an hour away. Spend the day exploring amusement parks.
As part of Florida’s nature coast the City of Inverness lies comfortably between the tranquil waters of the chain of seven lakes leading to the Gulf of Mexico, known as the Tsala Apopka (considered one of the richest bass fisheries in the world), and continues to the moss filled oak trees of the Inverness highlands. Its historic downtown square with an array of fine shops, restaurants, the Crown Hotel and Citrus County's turn-of-the-century Courthouse (appeared in film scenes from "Follow That Dream" starring Elvis Presley), bathe Inverness in the ambiance of times past.
Inverness is geographically located in the center of the State of Florida and it bears a notable resemblance to its sister city - Inverness, Scotland. Approximately, a hour's drive to Tampa's Busch Gardens to the south, Orlando's Disney World/Epcot complex to the southeast, the charming old fishing village of Cedar Key to the northwest and Gainesville's FSU Gator football games to the north.

Why the Owner Chose Inverness
As someone who constantly travels for business, I was looking for the perfect place, which combined natural beauty and privacy, to relax and unwind after a business trip. Having spent many vacations throughout the state - this location won me over - it had everything I was looking for and more. Sitting at the top of a hill it offers mild winters and comfortable summers - with a consistent and pleasant breeze.
The Unique Benefits at this House
This is a very private, hilltop location with all of the benefits of nature-coast living nearby. The central gulf coast location gives you access to the "college town" atmosphere of Gainesville, the big city attractions of Tampa, the recreational diversity of Orlando - and the small "old Florida" charm of Crystal River and Cedar Keys. With three airports easily accessible it is a convenient spot to get to. The ability to enjoy the sunshine in a private location allows you to enjoy an uninhibited environment. Set apart from neighboring properties allows you the privacy and comfort of individual tastes.
Owner's Map of Inverness
New Hampshire resident who enjoys the New England summers and Florida winters built this private and quiet retreat to have a place to "escape" to. The owner of a management consulting business, he loves the "laid back" environment and natural beauty of Florida's nature coast. Unlike the highly developed areas of Florida, he finds the nature coast is a place to relax, unwind and enjoy the unspoiled natural beauty of the gulf coast. The owner designed his "villa" to capture the clean, calm and private feeling of the nature coast. He wanted to recreate a sense of beauty and creativity - where one can enjoy the peaceful environment - where one can enjoy writing, painting, or composing as well as enjoying one of the best preserved natural splendors in Florida.
