This 30 sq meter studio is settled in one of the most colorful and picturesque areas of Rome called “Trastevere”. It is set on the west bank of the river Tiber, south of the Vatican City. It’s name derives from latin “trans Tiberim” meaning “on the other side of the Tiber”.
Originally, in 754BC, Trastevere was Etruscan before being conquered by the Romans for strategic reasons in 509BC.
Always considered a bit on the outskirts of Rome, Trastevere was in fact included in the city walls with Emperor Aurelio (270-275AD) who built the Aurelian walls that also included the Vatican City.
During the Imperial wealthy period of Rome many rich and influential people built their villas in this area.
Then in the Middle Ages Trastevere became an intricate labirinth of narrow streets. It was impossible even for wheel carts to pass .The area was a mixture of buildings of different periods (that can still be admired today) belonging to the rich and to the poor and due to the fact of being on the river and a bit decentralized from the city center, this was a multicultural area.
In the 1870’s big stone walls were built on the sides of the Tiber to prevent it from flooding and this destroyed the most characteristic places that were settled along the river bank. Even today Trastevere maintains its bright, bustling, busy, characteristics with artisan shops, small elegant shops, restaurants of all sorts and those of typical roman cuisine, the famous S. Cosimato market that has now been completely renovated, supermarkets, cinemas, the English cinema theatre called Pasquino in Vicolo del Piede (“Foot street”), the Gianicolo gardens where you can admire a beautiful view of Rome and where you may see and hear the cannon shoot everyday at noon. Also not to miss the botanical gardens just two minutes away from the apartment.
The studio is on Via della Scala and once you enter the main entrance of the building, you reach a quaint court where you have access to the lodging on the ground floor. It is warTm, welcoming, recieves a pleasant natural light from the outside and sleeps three people at the most, a couple up on the deck and one person on the sofa bed below. The kitchen is fully equipped and set on one side of the room. There is a small bathroom with shower and a little storeroom.

Deposit: €100
A deposit in the customer currency equal to 100 € is necessary. This amount will be refunded upon check out, provided everything is in order.
Arrival Time:
From 14:00 up to 20:00.
From 20:00 up to 23:00 an extra fee of 25€ is due.
From 23.00 up to 08:00 an extra fee of 50€ is due.
