Our bright, tastefully decorated home is ideally located, providing the perfect setting for your vacation retreat in Guanajuato, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Some of its unique features include:
1. Located on the hillside of the historic Presa neighborhood in a family-owned “privada,” the house offers spectacular panoramic views in a secure, quiet family environment.
2. Easily accessible on foot to the city’s main attractions -- language schools, restaurants, museums, cafes, plazas, etc. The main historic downtown plaza, Jardin de la Union, is a comfortable 20-minute walk, and the well established Academia Falcon Spanish Language School is a 7-minute walk.
3. Located in the Casas Blancas family-owned complex, our home is one of a cluster of 8 houses all designed by 3 family architects native to Guanajuato. Each home has its own unique design and decor, while maintaining the overall distinguishingly crisp, white color that gives the complex its one-of-a-kind look. In this home, you will enjoy the security and friendliness of a family environment, while having the privacy and comfort of your own residence. The family members are experienced hosts and available to address any questions or concerns you might have during your stay.
House Description:
This 2-story home was custom designed by its owners -- an American and Mexican couple who met in Guanajuato 15 years ago. The house has a spacious, open-air layout and is full of windows, giving it plenty of natural light. Each room is colorfully decorated with traditional Mexican tile, handcrafts and furniture, which have been collected by the owners from their travels throughout the country. The upstairs boasts spectacular vaulted “boveda” ceilings adorned with artisan hand painted trim. The master bedroom opens onto its own private balcony with views of the popular “Picachos” mountains, which offer excellent hiking and mountain biking and climbing options. The large, fully equipped kitchen includes a breakfast bar and is tastefully decorated with detailed ceramic Mexican tiles.

The Unique Benefits of this House
The house is located in a family-owned private complex on the side of a mountain and off the main street, which means it is away from the traffic and noise of downtown, has excellent panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and historic Presa neighborhood, and provides a large, car-free environment for my children to play in. There are plenty of other children of all ages for my boys to play with when we visit. It is located in a quiet, family oasis, and at the same time, the city's main attractions are just a short walk away. No cars needed here!
