Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2009
We love the outdoors - especially the natural beauty of the beaches of Lake Michigan and woods of Northern Michigan. We look forward to long walks on the beach and in the woods Up North each year. We relish swimming in the big Lake, playing in the sand, canoeing, fishing, gardening, BBQing, beach bonfires, and some pretty cutthroat card games. We also like to travel and scuba dive. Most of all we enjoy spending time with our kids, grandkids, horses, and dogs.
Why the Owner Chose Good Hart
We are irresistibly drawn to Northern Michigan! Our family has been living and Summering in this area for many generations. In 2009 we were fortunate enough to purchased a beach house of our own. We are looking forward to many years playing and relaxing here with our family. We are happy to be able to share our house with your family too. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We love the private beach down the steps right outside our door, the big decks for relaxing, and the quiet setting on Lakeshore drive in the Tunnel of Trees. We've filled the house with folksy and festive red, white, and blue decor as we celebrate 4th of July memories all year long.

Americana Beach House = great American vacation

The Americana Beach house was one of our 3 best vacations. The house is exactly as listed; clean, neat and well stocked, plenty of room for our family of 10 plus one small dog. The sunsets were magnificent as we enjoyed campfires and smores on the beach. The water along the beachfront is shallow enough for kids to get in plenty of beach time, and far enough from other homes to make it feel almost isolated. Popcorn and movie night in the nicely appointed family room beside a crackling fire was the best. The sound of waves gently lapping the shore makes for peaceful sleeping! The people who operate Good Hart General Store are wonderful and helpful and a trip to Legs Inn in Cross Village is a must for some excellent dining and lake views. The entire family voted for a return vacation at the Americana Beach House!
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.
