  Whenever we travel I automatically check VRBO first and have never been disappointed. But I think this studio apartment ranks among our all-time favorites! The location was perfect for our stay as we took in the incredible sights in Volcanoes Nat'l Park, the wonderful city of Hilo, and the entire northern portion of the island. We didn't do any meal preparations (we were on the go each day and snacked or ate in Hilo, just a couple miles down the road), but the kitchen had everything we could have needed. Accommodations were clean, comfortable and very roomy, and though the pictures are accurate, they really don't do this charming studio justice. It was everything we expected and more! And Marie couldn't have been nicer or more thoughtful. She responded promptly to our questions and made some excellent suggestions. She really did think of everything. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the lookout deck one afternoon just watching the surfers on Honolii beach. Marie's two dogs joined us on the deck, and we felt even more relaxed and at home with their company. This studio is perfect for a couple or a young family. Our son and his fiancee hope to stay there on their next visit to the Big Island, and we look forward to staying there again on a future visit as well.   We had such a great time staying here! It was perfect for two of us, and the kitchen is fully stocked for all the meals we wanted to cook. Greg and Marie and wonderful, so hospitable, we felt so welcomed. The pictures really don't do this unit and the property justice, it's a spacious studio with so many windows you can always have that beautiful ocean breeze coming through. We really loved the observation deck, watching the surfers and the sun move across the sky. The dogs are great and it was fun to have them keep us company on the deck! Hilo is not known for great restaurants (although the Hilo Bay Cafe is fantastic, don't let the location fool you), but the farmer's market is great, especially great on Wednesdays and Saturdays. You can stock up on beautiful local fresh fruits, veggies, breads, flowers, and lots of other local stuff you didn't know you needed til you see it at really great prices. Don't miss the goat cheese guy near the front entrance! We made most meals and packed lunches for our day trips. Mahalo Greg and Marie! We will be back and I will absolutely send people your way.   Our family stayed for a week and everything was perfect. The studio is perfect and so is the location. If you love to surf, this is the place. If you don't, it's still the place. Great morning and evening views from the rooftop pergola. The gardens are perfect as well, especially all of the orchids. The studio is located just a couple of miles from Hilo, which for us is the only way to go. Marie and Greg are great hosts and very nice people. I can't say enough about what a special place this is....the photos are no joke, the place is every bit of what's shown. We're already planning a return trip and can't wait! Aloha.

  My husband and I stayed at this studio rental for 8 nights this June for our Honeymoon. The place was perfect for a romantic getaway. The place is very clean and has everything you need. Marie and her husband were thoughtful in making sure we had access to snorkeling equipment and using their upstairs sitting area to view the black sand beach. It is attached to their home and we enjoyed seeing their sweet dogs and cats greet us in the mornings on the way to the beach or upstairs to have coffee and breakfast as we watched the sun come up over the ocean. The rental is very close to Akaka falls as well as downtown Hilo. The kitchen is spacious and is fully stocked. We were able to shop at the local farmers market several times and cook inside our studio. Nothing negative to say about this stay!! We can't wait to come back again!   We loved staying here. Everything was close and convenient to this rental. Both Marie & Greg were very accommodating and kind. Anything we needed was there, even an umbrella for those rainy times. Views from their observation deck were fantastic! It was so relaxing and we hated to leave. It was the perfect place for us to stay while we visited Hilo, Hi. We hope this place will be available for our next visit to Hilo. Mahalo Marie & Greg!

  My husband and I stayed here for a week. It was wonderful! We had coffee on the observation deck every monring and watched the surfers and relaxed! This was a great take off point for lots of fun adventures, easy access to everything on the island. The owners were friendly and helpful. We would recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit the big island!

  As a young couple we were so excited to find a place so close to the beach for surfing! We were able to get up every morning and walk to Honolii and use the surfboards generously provided by the owners!! They also provided bikes that we used to ride into Hilo town! Having our morning coffee and watching the sunrise on the O deck was absolutely perfect! Can't beat the view of the beach! We loved every minute- the location was perfect, the place had everything we needed (had use of cooler, beach towels, snorkle gear, etc...), all pictures and descriptions were accurate, owners are a delight to work with and we would definately recommend this property to anyone! We will be back every year! Thank you!!! :)

  A beautiful home just 5 minutes from downtown Hilo, this fully equipped house has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The bed is very comfortable and the clean bathroom has plenty of hot water. The wonderful observation deck provides dramatic views of the ocean and Honolii beach, a short walk away. Marie is very nice and provides everything you need to make sure you have a great stay. Would easily recommend this house to others!

  This rental is a exactly what the description says and more. We had a great time staying here and will hopefully be back. The owners went above and beyond for us, especially when our luggage didn't make the flight with us. They gave us all the things we would need to get us by until our luggage came. The location is wonderful and the trip into town is only a 5 minute drive. So calm and laid back. Such a great place!
