Featured in the May 2009 Colorado Homes and Lifestyles Magazine, I aimed to create an elegant retreat acceptable to my Mother Madeline who believed that the world started and ended on Park Avenue in New York City but wanted to live close to me in The Rockies. While Madeline usually skipped exercise, you can start your day with a brisk walk around Hecla and Waneka Lakes on the “jog in jog out” trails, visit the lap pool and gym or attend an exercise class.
Follow that with a steam and hydro-therapy session in our Springs Spa with a massage or facial. Enjoy a free hot breakfast with your stay. For lunch or dinner, experience fine dining in your choice of three restaurants under the direction of Chef Chris Olchowy trained at the Four Seasons Hotels. Consult with the 24-7 concierge to help make your daily entertainment/transportation plans while visiting and feel free to use our business center facilities. You are invited to choose from an array of daily activities: hiking, lectures (ask for schedule of speakers), trips to off-site attractions such as Colorado Springs Cog Railway, Denver History Tours, fly fishing and a variety of culinary events. Some trips may involve an additional fee.
The spacious one-bedroom suite is brand new and will please the most discriminating guest. Private and fully furnished, the suite includes a fully appointed kitchen, one full and half bath, full size washer dryer and a private balcony (approximately 1050 square feet). Pets are welcome. There is a pull-out couch for children or a second couple in a separate den. The room decor is tasteful and elegant and the common areas are open for your use including a library, poker/billiard/media room, outdoor dining experiences, lap pool, locker rooms with flat screen TVs, steam rooms and fireplaces, business center, bridge playing center and numerous aquariums.

I grew up in NYC but always loved the outdoors so when I had a chance to move to Colorado after law school, I did. When I wanted my mother Madeline to join me out here after dad died, I realized my life calling.......creating a "camp" for adults who were educated, lively, engaged and who would rather have fun then cook and clean. So join me in our paradise where you can catch a breakfast horseback ride in Estes Park and be back at the Balfour pool by 9 am! (See attached photo) I have three sons, one finishing his education in Boston and two 5 year old twin boys. My wife Susan, also a lawyer but a design enthusiast, was instrumental in making Balfour feel like a cozy home and a unique place to visit.
Why the Owner Chose Boulder
Louisville was chosen by Money Magazine as the #1 place to live in the USA in 2009. I discovered the magic of Louisville ten years ago and intend to remain living here. The 325 days of sunshine and the endless outdoor activities available make this area amazing to visit. There are hot air balloons in the sky daily, Olympic athletes training for biking, running, etc........and many people are transplants from other parts of the country so it always feels like you are on vacation.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo Suite
There is a 24/7 concierge, a chauffeured limo available for a fee, a state of the art hydro therapy spa with three separate water massage features-a waterfall, a throne with neck water massage and intense jets in a small round two person pool. Two of my favorite pastimes are sitting in the men's locker room steam room, then watching CNN in front of the fireplace while catching up on e-mails.
