Recently built is a zip line in the Nantahala Gorge area patterned after famous zip lines in South America. The John C. Campbell Folk School and Stecoah Valley Center afford traditional mt. crafts, classes, and music for your entertainment. Premiere trout streams are close by with fishing guides available. Day trips to Cherokee, Standing Indian, the Cherohala Highway, Joyce Kilmer Forest, and Wayah Bald are just a few. Outdoors is what these mountains are all about ... Leslie Mason, Owner I work as a teacher and school counselor at the Nantahala School and can be seen on our school web site: Nantahala School, Topton, NC. I have been fortunate to travel to Norway, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, England, Scotland, and throughout the US and Caribbean. Traveling is a passion for me.
Why the Owner Chose Nantahala
The mountains in this area are the most beautiful anywhere in the world! Because there are cool mt. breezes nightly, there is air condition only in the bedrooms. Most nights the windows are open to the night sounds of tree frogs and crickets. I have a great book and video library for the guest use
The Unique Benefits of this House
The seclusion and the wildlife and the man birds. I enjoy to read, play music and just visit with my many friends. I am blessed to be in these beautiful mountains.
