Beautiful views, but...

The condo has beautiful views, marble floors, nicely appointed kitchen, washer and dryer, beach towels and chairs, and a mishmash of snorkel gear available for the use of the guests. We wish there would have been some lamps in the living area (the living room only has overhead lighting). The condo is not a true one bedroom—it is really a studio with an extra alcove which is basically the length and width of a queen size bed and no door separating it from the rest of the living space. Only one side of the bed is open. The head, left side and foot are all directly by a wall. To sleep two, one has to get out of bed to let the other one in or out. Our experience was that none of the beds are very comfortable. The twin day beds in the living room are a bit dated have very hard foam mattresses which are really uncomfortable for adults. The queen bed is a bit better, but so difficult to maneuver that we ended up sleeping in the living room. Yes, the condo is 30 steps from the beach—and 30 steps from the highway in front. Since there is no air conditioning, the windows must be kept open. The surf and ocean breeze is loud, but soothing. The traffic noise at night is not.

Owner response:Mahalo for your review. We have replaced the lamp in the living room and are rotating the queen bed in the bedroom so it is easier for both people to get in and out of bed.

My wife and I stayed here in October 2011. Cheryl was very easy to work with, and we were able to get into her Condo on very short notice! The Pictures are nothing compared to the actual views you get from the Lanai. The sunrise is worth getting up for everymorning. We stayed 3 nights here and 3 in Waikiki, and if we could do it over again would of stayed here the entire trip! We converted the twin bed / couches to the king bed, after all if you go to Hawaii and get a view of the Ocean you might as well take full advantage of it! It was very relaxing and worth it! I read the reviews from others here and they are 100% as well, I have read reviews about the property in general on other websites and tend to disagree. Again Cheryl was very easy to work with and never led us down the wrong road!

My wife and I were both really impressed with this condo and had a wonderful time on the North Shore. We would definitely recommend this place to stay. The condo has a great view of the beach from the balcony and was very comfortable to stay in. It was clean, has a spacious common area (great for our mobile 9 month old), nice tile floors, internet, washer and dryer, and cable tv. The North Shore cannot be beat, especially compared to Waikiki, and the condo was a short drive to all of the great North Shore hot spots. Cheryl was very professional and pleasant to work with. All in all, we are satisfied customers.

We loved our stay here. The beach was beautiful and the sunrises were amazing. Our only problem was the bed did take up the entire room, so only one way in and one way out. We slept on the coaches on our second night though and it was perfect, with the door to the patio open you could hear the sound of the ocean all night. FYI there are no restaurants very close that stay open late.The condo seemed to be well stocked if you were going to cook in. We only stayed two nights, but wished we could have stayed longer.Thanks, we will be back, Carolyn and Kelly

at Blue Hawaii condo was wonderful. I have been to Oahu before, but had always stayed close to Waikiki. Never again! The condo is located on the windward side of the island, and is much less crowded, including the beaches. The view from the living room of the ocean was beautiful. Everything in the unit was tasteful, clean, and comfortable. We didn't want to go home! Thank you Cheryl .

I was looking for a place to stay with my parents on the Windward side of the island and we were delighted with this rental. The condo is very well equipped, and the views on both side of the building are amazing, idillic beach on one side and dramatic mountain view on the other side. Far from the crowded zoo which is Waikiki, this was ideal, lots to do on this side of the island especially for nature lovers, the whole coast is so beautiful, very close to great attractions like the Kaaawa Valley. The building manager was very helpful and so was Cheryl the owner of the condo. We would love to come back!

Excellent Rental!

Having previously lived on Oahu, my friends and I were looking for an affordable rental that would feel more like the Hawaii we knew (as opposed to the crowd of Waikiki). This rental was perfect. Great location, great beach views, incredibly clean and comfortable, and they even have snorkel gear in the condo to use. I would absolutely recommend this rental, whether for a weekend stay or even for weeks.
