We once again thoroughly enjoyed our second stay in this wonderful house over an extended New Year's weekend. As was the case last year, everything we could possibly want/need was available. We did a bit more exploring this year and found Port A Crab about 10 minutes north of the house on Route 361. Great fish -- especially the red snapper -- and very nice people, Mark and Nancy. Nearby as well was Coffee Waves for the twice daily cappucinos that we enjoy. Also, several flavors of gelato which you can sample before deciding on the flavor of the moment. We drove about 65 miles up the coast to the Aransas Wildlife Refuge. Some good hiking and views of alligators, and other creatures. But the main attraction are about a dozen whooping cranes -- only about 500 of these cranes left in the WORLD.

We stayed here in December with friends to celebrate our anniversary. The weather was cold and rainy, so we had a "lock-in" and spent the weekend cooking, playing games and watching old movies. It was the best trip to Port A we've had in a decade of visits. The bedrooms are all lovely and it was great that everyone had their own bathroom, but we spent all of our time in the open plan living area, which was incredibly comfortable and well decorated. The kitchen is perfect for gourmet cooks (and the Iron Chef style cook offs between my DH and SIL) with an amazing amount of pots, pans, utensils, appliances and sundries. We could have fed an army. The large dining table was perfect for games and puzzles and telling tall tales. The squishy couches were nearly impossible to leave. Best of all was the balcony that ran outside the living room. Everyone had a special moment there, sipping coffee and watching the wind run through the sea grasses or the waves crash on the shore. The view is really wonderful. Jane was a joy to work with - we can't praise this house enough. We will be back as soon as we can.

I would recommend this property which is very well maintained and clean with everything provided that you could possibly wish for during your stay. Wonderful views from the house over the Gulf, excellent beach with lots of waves, good for boarding. Thank you so much for making our weekend stay very comfortable and unforgettable.

Our family - teenagers and adult children spent a wonderful, relaxing long weekend at this very well kept house. The family areas are spacious and couches are delightfully comfortable, and games and puzzles were available. The kitchen is much better stocked than your typical beach house. The two stories of decks have generous seating. We especially loved the 2nd floor deck, with the shade from the 3rd floor deck, we even enjoyed relaxing in the middle of the day. It is a short walk to the beach, and the resident wagon makes it easy to tote everything. There was a great large sunshade provided and various boogy boards and sand toys. The barbecue is in great shape and there is a nice outdoor shower and picnic table. We really used the second refrigerator for all of our cold drinks. The owner is gracious, informative and helpful.

Thank you so much Jane for allowing us to use your beautiful beach house. The house was wonderful and was even better than imagined. We appreciated that it was close to the beach, Port A, and Corpus yet was on a private lot. My family has voted this the best family vacation we have ever had and we plan on coming back next year. We made memories in one weekend to last a lifetime. Thank you again Jane for everything. You have been so kind.

We spent four nights beginning on January 2 and could not have had a more pleasant experience. The house is terrific, the area quite and relaxing -- just what we we were looking for -- and Jane's help and hospitality were without equal. The nearby H-E-B market in Corpus Christi -- recommended by Jane -- had everything we could want, including some incredibly good Guld Brown shrimp. We enjoyed Port Aransas, especially the Castaways Restaurant. We ate there twice and the staff, especially Dakota and Tiffany, were terrific , as was the seafood and key lime pie. We thoroughly enjoyed walking on the beach every day and discovering the Portuguese Men of War. Dangerous but interesting little characters. In a nutshell, the house and beach area lived up to our expectations and was exactly what we were looking for and we would highly recommend to friends and relatives.

We spent three nights at the house (5 adults, 1 child) and were very impressed. The house's common areas are larger than they appear in the photographs. 3 bedrooms are up, and one (queen) down, each with a full bath and a small flat-screen TV, plus there is an extra powder room downstairs. One queen bedroom upstairs has a double sink bathroom and a walk-in closet, and the other rooms all have nicely sized closets and other storage space (dressers or shelves). The mudroom downstairs has an extra fridge, a wagon to pull to the beach, at least 7 beach chairs, a beach umbrella and a bunch of beach toys, boogie boards, etc. The house is stocked with tons of extras, including nice beach towels and bath towels, Bath and Body Works full size shower gel and lotion in each bathroom, spices, kitchenware, a hair dryer, games, magazines, some DVDs, a gas grill, extra deck chairs for both decks and bug spray. The beach is right off the boardwalk at the end of the cul-de-sac, about 500 feet (very fast walk, felt shorter). The wagon was really great to pull stuff to the beach. There is an outdoor shower and a hose outside to rinse off before going inside. The beach itself was pretty empty, good for sandcastles, shells, bird-watching and swimming. We'd recommend applying bug spray before walking to the beach, the mosquitos got us on our way down the boardwalk. There is a well-stocked and reasonable IGA 8 miles away on the island. We'd recommend buying fresh fish before crossing the ferry to get to the island, the two places we tried didn't have much fresh. The owners were great, very responsive by email for all our questions and even had a bottle of wine chilled when we arrived. The house was really clean and we'd definitely come back. On our one rainy day, we went over to the Texas State Aquarium, a very nice place and great for kids. We'd recommend it for a family trip or a group weekend away.

My husband I had a small wedding ceremony on the beach in front of this property. We wanted the wedding party to stay with us for a weekend at the beach and have a dinner reception with them outside after the ceremony. The owner was incredibly helpful in helping me plan the wedding weekend and we arrived to many thoughtful luxuries at the house (like bath and body soaps, chip clips, fully stocked kitchen, spare beach items, magazines) including a bottle of champagne, flutes and a card! We knew right away we had picked the right location. The house is located on a quiet cul-de-sac which provided privacy. The 4 bedrooms with separate attached baths was the perfect set up for having several couples rather than one large family in one house-everyone was able to have their own space. The groomsmen raved about being able to relax out on the upper deck watching the water while getting ready (as the bridesmaids of course took longer!) The deck was beautiful for the dinner; it was so nice to be out in the beach air! The photographer was able to find many nice places for photo-ops. The house is both gorgeous and comfortable. The open floor plan downstairs also lends itself very nicely to groups of people hanging out. Everyone is still telling me how much fun they had and how great the house was! I hope to be back for an anniversary stay one year!

This was a lovely beach house, new and clean with plenty of amenities. The decks were a lovely place to sit and enjoy the various views. The beach was within easy reach and the wagon was excellent for taking an umbrella and cooler down to the beach. We all slept well on the comfortable beds and kitchen was very well equipped. An excellent vacation stay. We hope to come back next year.
