We've rented many vacation homes in the US over a long period of time, and this was definitely one of the very best. The home is in a beautiful setting, the desert just beyond the back fence allowed us to spent countless hours watching wildlife (round-tailed squirrels, quails, hummingbirds, rabbits), the peacefulness let us just listen to the breeze. The pool was delightful (we paid for it to be heated, I'd recommend that) and we were in it every single day. The property was very clean and well-maintained and oh, the internet worked first time and was fast and reliable! That meant a whole lot to us, as my mum was seriously ill while we were away, and it enabled us to be in constant touch with things at home. It was a pleasure to deal with Vicki, the owner, she responded to our queries very quickly. Todd manages the property locally, and was very helpful before our stay, again quickly answering any questions we had and letting us know that he was available during our stay for help or advice. We didn't need to contact him! Would definitely recommend the property and area. Thanks Vicki and Todd!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our family so enjoyed this comfortable home during our stay in Tucson for our granddaughter's gymnastic competition at AU. The weather was very cool, but sunny and bright. Family members flew in from WA, CA, and NM. We would recommend this Desert Dream vacation home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My wife and I, along with another couple, found everything as advertised. We appreciated the clear communication with the owner who promised and delivered all that we expected. Desert Dream was very clean and spacious. We appreciated being able to sit by the pool and hot tub each morning and later in the day (following our day trips). The hot tub was very relaxing. We were also fortunate to see a mountain lion stroll along the desert wash behind the backyard fence. It is something you rarely get a chance to experience.Did you find this review helpful? The Desert Dream was the perfect place for our family to gather. The home was beautiful and the views from the backyard were breathtaking both day and night. We enjoyed the pool and the deck as well as the spacious living area and recreation room with pool table. The beds were very comfy and we had everything that we needed. Vicki, the owner, and Todd, the manager, were incredibly kind and hospitable. Todd helped us make sure that we were well-equipped for our stay and had information about the area. He even helped us find a portable crib for our baby. We hope to be able to come again. Thank you Vicki for sharing your lovely home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I was amazed at the selection of available homes in Tucson, but chose this one because of the private pool and hot tub, the pool table, and the king-sized beds. I am SO glad I chose Desert Dream! 6 members of my family went to Tucson to surprise my sister for her 60th birthday...they all LOVED this place. The pool is fabulous. The beds are incredibly comfortable (and I have a select comfort and a tempurpedic at home - so I'm very picky.) The men loved the pool table. The linens and towels were excellent quality. Vicky (the owner) and Todd (the property manager) were wonderful to work with. We all agree, we would go back in a heartbeat.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

What a wonderful retreat! Thoughtful amenities, great location (close to shopping & freeway) and peaceful locale. Loved the pool with the warm temperatures! Great place to hang out and relax as well as enjoy some billiards, swimming pool and the views. We saw the graduation fireworks from CDO and Mountain View high schools right from the house. Loved the keyless entry option. Very quiet for a 6 month old to sleep, but the parents could still enjoy the house while he slept. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a relaxing time, whether it be business or pleasure. Bring your camera if you like wildlife as there is plenty activity right on the edge of the undisturbed desert. Road upgrades make access to the city easy and quicker than ever before. Would like to visit again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

I was looking for a place to house our family who were converging on Tucson for the week of my daughter's wedding. With Vicki's approval, we hosted a wedding shower and also had 8 women getting ready for the big day in this beautiful home. We always seemed to have exactly what we needed for every occasion. The kitchen is extremely well stocked, the house was immaculate, the pool table a huge plus for the guys and the pool, well, let me just say, that I am a water person and I have never experienced such a great pool. The temperature was exquisite and the feel of the salt water was like a Calgon take me away moment. Everyone in our group went into instant relaxation mode as soon as they dipped in the water (and that is no easy feat the week of a wedding!) The views were fabulous and the house was located within easy reach of all of our destinations. Todd, the manager, was most helpful with all of the little details and always answered my texts promptly. It truly felt like a home while we were there and I still dream about the pool!! Many thanks Vicki!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

My family of 6 with children ages 5-15 had a wonderful time at Desert Dream. We didn't have a big agenda for day trips and so we were looking for a home where we could relax and enjoy time together as fammily. Desert Dream fit the bill perfectly. We spent hours in the pool and hot tub. The view was beautiful and serene. The only sounds we heard were birds chirping, no sounds of traffic. We also loved the pool table and had many games together. The beds were super comfortable and the kitchen fully equipped. We often spent our evenings snuggled in blankets sitting on the lounge chairs absorbing the peace and gazing at the stars. The places we did want to visit, like Saguaro National Park and Sabino Canyon, were close by and much enjoyed. Thanks so much for making our vacation in Arizona a great experience!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This is a lovely spot exactly as described. The owners were an absolute delight to deal with and i can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our visit. The house is a smartly decorate 3-bed room, with a breath taking view of the mountains. In the back yard you have your own private spa with a patio table, pool and spacious hot tub. The neighborhood is quiet and just over the backyard fence is a patch of desert where you'll see quail, rabbits and coyotes at night. We visited in mid january, which by the local standard would be considered off-season, but coming from a northern climate we found the weather to be absolutely delightful (70's by day, high 40's at night), just the warm break we were looking for. This was our first trip to Tucson and i was frankly impressed by how accessible the parks and open spaces were. In addition there were a variety of habitats to explore, all within a hours drive. If you like the outdoors, definitely take your hiking boots, you won't be disappointed. The star gazing was a real treat. Tucson doesn't have a lot of street lights, so right from the backyard, in the cozy comfort of the hot tub you can listen to the sounds of the desert at night and see an amazing over head display of stars. If you are looking for a comfortable place to relax, with plenty of room for family or friends you won't be disappointed. Thanks again to Russ & Vicki for maintaining such a wonderful place.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Two of my girlfriends and I came to Tucson with the intention of total relaxation ... and we sure got that and more! Arriving at the Desert Dream home I was immediately impressed with the decor, and the thoughtfulness of having the air-conditioning set for us Alaskan girls. The idea of having multiple TV's available for the bedrooms as well as the main living room came in handy for some of us, others were more comfortable with silence. The most important thing was we all had what we needed! The beds and pillows were oh-so-comfortable, while the pool beckoned for us also. Having a salt water pool and hot tub/jetted tub was such a treat. (no chlorine to deal with in our hair, on our skin, or on our suits!) The backyard is amazing, like an oasis in the middle of the dry desert. The native plantings and the "wildness" of the desert just beyond the fencing is an added treat. The location of this home is perfect, close to groceries, malls, restaurants and downtown too! Everything we needed was right there! We even had the locaI property manager check in with us during our stay! I highly recommend staying at Desert Dreams when you are visiting the Tucson Arizona area!Did you find this review helpful? Our family stayed at Desert Dream during the lovely month of March. One of the reasons we chose the house was the view, and it didn't disappoint. The sunrise over the Catalinas was brilliant, and the mountains turned "pink" at sunset. When we arrived, the home was very clean and Todd welcomed us. Each bedroom was very comfortable with wonderful mattresses and linens. There were plenty of extra blankets in the closets, too, as the nights did get chilly. Bath towels were great (I hate to rent a home where they give you their "old" threadbare items- these were new). The kitchen was very well furnished - the best I've seen, and we've stayed in quite a few homes. Read the list on Vickie's description - there's all that and more. Vickie did a great job with the entire home. We did eat in most nights and I always found what I needed. The pool area and hot tub were great. We paid for the pool heat and were glad for it. The home is situated in a VERY quiet neighborhood. You could stand at the fence at night, gazing at the stars, and not hear a thing. We all enjoyed watching the wildlife on the other side of the fence: rabbits, quail, lizards, and even coyotes and a bobcat made their appearance. SO COOL! The area is perfect for visiting Tucson. We did a lot of hiking and felt we were fairly central. Romero Pools in Catalina State Park and Seven Falls in Bear Canyon (Sabino Canyon) are a must see. Saguaro National Park, the Desert Museum and the tram ride in Sabino Canyon are very worthwhile visits. All in all, we would certainly rent this home again, and can't wait to go back to Tucson. Oh, and the sun shone all but one afternoon! Coming from Ohio, this was my favorite part of the whole trip! :)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I decided to surprise my father with a road trip and a week in Arizona for his 60th birthday. This was the perfect desert dream! The home is well equipped for anything you might have forgotten or want. The night views of the stars are amazing while you’re relaxing after a long day sightseeing and shopping in the hot tub. The house was equipped with a BBQ and we had a BBQ dinner for my father's birthday, This is the first time that we had ever rented in home -vs- staying in hotel. It was nice being able to do our own thing at our own pace and of course being able to cook and have all the conveniences of home and not having to bother anyone or have people wanting to clean the room and so fourth. I would definitely recommend this desert dream to everyone!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I stayed at the Desert Dream for Christmas week in 2010 and had a great time. The house was very clean and well taken care of, and was equipped with everything a family with children might want or need. We enjoyed the swimming pool and jacuzzi (it was definitely worth the extra fee to heat the pool) and the pool table. The kitchen was large and had everything we needed for holiday cooking. And the view of the desert and mountains from the back patio was fantastic. The beds were very comfortable, and the master bathroom was large with an oversized bath tub and walk in closet. My only disappointment is that we couldn't have booked it for a longer period of time (someone has already reserved it for a portion of our stay). I will definitely be back for our next stay in Tucson.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Each year we pick a spot on the map for 7 days of golf and relaxation. This year was no exception. Tucson's atmosphere is excellent for relaxation. We didn't golf much due to the comfort of the home. We spent countless hours at the pool or just lounging around inside. Property was well kept and moderately clean. Management staff was extremely helpful. My family and I traveled from the Midwest to Tucson for my brother's wedding over the Labor Day weekend. This property was suggested to us by them, and because we were travelling with six adults and an infant we wanted to stay at a house instead of multiple hotel rooms. We were not disappointed. The views were magnificent and we were treated to coveys of quail in the morning on the fence. Regarding service, I would say that Mrs. Butler and her property manager Todd know how to make people feel at home. The house was clean when we arrived, and the property manager, Todd had a crib already set up for our son. When we called to inform him the coffee maker had stopped working, he made a special trip over on Sunday with a replacement (his own!!). Mrs. Butler made sure that we felt welcome in her home, and when we make our way back down I know where we will be staying.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

I stayed with 5 other adults at Desert Dream for a long weekend in August and we could not have been more happy. The house was immaculately clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed throughout. The kitchen was well stocked with all the appliances and utensils we needed to cook all of our meals. We were fortunate to be in Tucson for the Perseid meteor shower, which we watched long into the night from the comfort of the beautiful pool. We ended up cancelling our plans for our second day so that we could spend time together playing pool and swimming: a perfect way to catch up with friends who see each other far too rarely. I hope to stay here again soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I traveled to Tucson in April 2010 for our first vacation ever in Arizona to visit my son and grandkids. We have rented vacation homes before and we were more than pleased with the home we rented. The location was perfect, the views spectaular and home had everything that we could have imagined, so much so that it was difficult to leave, could have stayed there forever. Spent almost all of the time outdoors enjoying the weather, the views and the wildlife, outdoor grill was a great feature to have. Great location for heading to Mt. Lemmon, Sabino Canyon, golf course and the Foothills Mall. Plan on coming back again in April 2011.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

My family and I traveled to Tucson in March 2010 for my daughter's wedding. None of us had ever rented a vacation home before and we were a little hesitant as to what we might encounter. We when arrived at the home, we were all more than pleasantly suprised. The home is gorgeous, the furnishings and decor were well thought out for comfort and quality. The beds were all the most comfortable we had ever slept on and were made up with comforable, quality linens. The view from the family room and pool area are spectacular, and we spent each morning having coffee watching the sun rise over the mountains. We enjoyed our evenings relaxing in the salt water jacuzzi and pool, which we had heated. From the backyard we saw quail, roadrunners, cotton tail rabbits, and on one evening we heard the beautiful bay of coyotes. We found this home to be well-appointed with everything we needed. The bathrooms had everything from shampoo to blowdryers, and thick lush towels. The kitchen was supplied with everything from a crockpot and blender to measuring spoons and bakeware. Vicki, the owner, and Todd, the property manager made sure we had everything we needed and let us know that if we needed anything to please call. Vicki has done a wonderful job creating a beautiful, comfortable, and qualitiy home away from home. Overall, this has been a wonderful experience and we are looking forward to staying in this home for our next vacation.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
