The Kuleana is one of the best-kept secrets on the West side of Maui. Once you go, you get it! The Kuleana is spread over 7 tropical acres of well kept, manicured grounds shaded with Plumeria Trees. Fragrant flowers abound, including Wild Ginger, Hibiscus, and Bird of Paradise. And yes, we have bananas!
This second floor, one bedroom, one bath condominium is just STEPS away from the ocean, with a seasonal beach directly in front of the unit. Sip Kona Coffee in the morning while listening to the waves rolling on to the shore. In the winter, you can watch the whales swimming in the channel. Enjoy a glass wine as you watch some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world right from your lanai.
If you love the beach, we are just minutes away from some of the most beautiful beaches in the world: the beaches at Kaanapali, Flemings Beach, and Honoloa Bay. Depending on the tides, there is usually a nice, sandy beach right in front of the unit. If you're more of a 'pool person,' a beautiful hand-tiled swimming pool is right outside your front door (and it's heated). We have snorkels and fins in the unit for you to use on the reefs off the Kuleana, where you can see beautiful tropical fish and huge Honu (sea turtles). Our tennis court sees lots of action, so be sure to bring your racket!
We are ten minutes away from the shopping and restaurants of Lahaina to the south, and ten minutes away from the world-famous golf courses and restaurants of the Kapalua Resort to the north.
Enjoy the understated elegance of our 'Hawaii Home.' We have remodeled our unit and decorated it to bring the outside in. The floors are tiled and the walls reflect the color of the beautiful sandy beaches. You'll find tumbled coral tile in the bathroom and kitchen, along with new stainless steel appliances. We are constantly striving to improve our beautiful place, so please let us know what we can do to make it better!
The Kuleana means 'concern' in Hawaiian -- and our concern is to make sure you enjoy our beautiful place and come back again!

The complex is a hidden gem with beautifully landscaped and maintained grounds, a nice sandy beach, a swimming hole and even our own private turtle town. The location is close enough to everything you want to walk to (coffee, restaruants, mini mart) as well as a quick drive into Kaanapali and Lahaina. The second floor location of Kuleana #409 has a million dollar oceanfront view from your private lanai. The condo has everything you need to cook your meals and otherwise relax and get away from it all! Air conditioning in the bedroom is a must and was appreciated very much. We will be back…Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

High Season (Dec 16-Apr 14) $185/night. Low season $155/night based on double occupancy. $10 per person per night each addl person, max of 4 10% discount for stays longer than 10 nights. We offer a Military discount! 30% deposit required to book reservation. Final payment due 30 days prior. Hawaiian Tax of 13.416% added to all bookings. $300 security deposit required for any breakages, burns, lost or stolen items. Security deposit refunded after checkout if unit checks out OK. $50 cancellation will apply to bookings cancelled with at least 60 days notice

About the owner: We are a Navy family living in San Diego and have been visiting Maui for nearly 15 years. The Kuleana is a very special place for us, and many of our friends have wound up getting married here. We are very happy to share our beautiful Hawaii Home with you and we hope to see you again!
Why the Owner Chose Kahana:
The Kuleana is a quiet resort that is spread out over beautiful tropical grounds. You won't feel crowded here. The location is just perfect, as we're away from some of the busy traffic and 'touristy' spots, but close enough to everything that you'll never be bored! Our unit is at the end of the '400 building,' which is the most popular due to its location between the ocean and the pool. It is also the furthest from the street, so you are insulated from the noise of traffic. There is only one unit below ours and one unit to the left. There is no one above you, which is very nice......
