Why the Owner Chose Aspen Highlands

Beautiful Aspen CO has so much to offer, from its legendary winter skiing, to its breathtaking summer hikes. It boasts world class restaurants and retail, and hosts world renown food and wine, comedy, and music festivals. There is truly something for everyone.

The Unique Benefits at this House

The house is ski in/ski out from Highlands ski resort, and minutes from downtown Aspen. House backs to an undeveloped mountainside, perfect for summer hikes, and a wonderful cross country ski trail. Down the road is the Aspen Recreation center, which offers pool, water park, exercise facilities, outdoor tennis courts, and a climbing wall, as well as the bus stop for the very efficient free Aspen bus system.

A
Aspen Recreations Center

Built in 2003, The Aspen Recreation Center, also known as the ARC, is outfitted with state of the art equipment and amenities for you and your family to enjoy.

B
Downtown Aspen

Restaurant, shopping, and galleries galore. Very pedestrian friendly. Free busses can get you all over town, and back within walking distance of the house.

D
Buttermilk Mountain

Particularly good for less experienced skiers, but fun for all.

E
Aspen Mountain

A more difficult mountain to ski. Enclosed gondola takes visitors to the top year round for heart stopping views.

F
Maroon Bells

Possible the most breath taking (and most photographed) mountains in the country. Unfortunately only accessible in the summer, but you can see them on the way to the house year round.

Owner's Map of Aspen Highlands

That's how old I was when we bought this house almost 30 years ago. We spent nearly every summer here growing up, and still visit every year. It truly is my home away from home.

Perfect house to stay at in Aspen!

Guest: Roma (San Francisco, CA)
Date of Stay: 03/19/11 Review Submitted: 06/02/11

I stayed in this house with a group of 7 other people for a week. The house itself is beautiful, and really just perfect for a fun getaway with close friends or family. The accommodations exceeded my expectations in comfort and cleanliness. I stayed in the bedroom on the lowest floor, and the bed was not only gigantic but just as comfortable as my pillowtop mattress at home! The social areas (living room and kitchen/dining area) are all on the same floor which is great. You can have your space when you want to and hang out when you want to. The big kitchen/dining space is wonderful for hanging out, drinking wine, and eating yummy comfort food after a long day of skiing (or in my case learning how to ski :) There is also a hottub to unwind in after a long day. Aspen isn't exactly that big of a town, but the house is situated in a place that was really easy to get to all the different mountains (and very close to Buttermilk). Linda, the caretaker, is ridiculously sweet and warm, and she does a great job of keeping the property as well as giving tips/help to newbies :) The next time I go, I will definitely try to stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone else visiting Aspen too!

Great place to stay in Aspen, Colorado!

Guest: TonyAustin (Austin, TX)
Date of Stay: 02/19/10 Review Submitted: 02/24/10

My wife and I just came back from a trip to Aspen, CO in February, 2010. We stayed at the same place last year as well. Everything is great, from the location to the ski area (you can actually see skiers going to the Highlands in the backyard), as well as the house itself. It's very well kept and the hot tub is great, even in 5 F weather :) it's large enough for a family of 10 to stay in (or a group of friends), and has gorgeous view in the morning. It's also very close to Buttermilk ski area along with the heart of downtown Aspen. The property is very well maintained and the woman who does the maintenance, Linda, do a great job on the property. It is also very quiet because it is a house by itself and not a hotel full of teenagers. Oh, and the fireplace is really nice - nothing beats sitting next to an actual fireplace burning real wood after a day on the mountains! (and the hot tub too!) Highly recommended, especially if you have a group of close friends or family/kids/etc.

Everything about this house is great

Guest: Auntie Sue (Atlanta, GA, USA)
Date of Stay: 10/08/09 Review Submitted: 10/14/09

This house is perfect for a large group. We were 10 people and everyone had a comfortable bed, plenty of room for preparing and eating meals, and ample space to spread out. We had a wedding-related activity at the house and easily accommodated another 10 people around the dining tables. The two fireplaces were in almost constant use and the caretakers refilled the wood supply daily. As the focal point of our stay in Aspen, this house provided everything we needed for a truly enjoyable 4 days. We were all sad to leave.

Amazing place in the woods

Guest: skiguy77 (Grand Junction, CO, USA)
Date of Stay: 02/19/09 Review Submitted: 10/01/09

I would highly recommend this house, it's the best of all worlds. It's relatively close to town, but it's also secluded in the woods. It doesn't look overgrown and gaudy, but it has plenty of room for a large group. It's far enough from the slopes that it avoids the bustle and noise, but it's close enough to basically be a ski-in, ski-out. The house was also very clean, and everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I can't think of a place I'd rather spend an Aspen vacation.

We had six guys pile into this perfect house from all over the US. The airport is 8 minutes away which was perfect for getting everyone in and out. Six bedrooms, hot tub, two wood stoves and on property help with Linda if we needed anything. It is well stocked and very clean! We will be back

We throughly enjoyed the home during our short trip to Aspen. The on-site caretakers were very sweet and helpful. The house had everything we needed just where it was supposed to be. I'll be contacting you again as soon as I put together our next Aspen trip!

Great Space

Guest: A Texan (Austin, Texas)
Date of Stay: 07/05/09 Review Submitted: 07/06/09

The kitchen was spacious, the living room cozy, and getting in the hot tub while it's snowing is amazing. I went with a group of college friends and we had a blast, but I think this home would work well for families and people of any age.
