Quite, beatuful and relaxing, Great location for golfing, touring wineries and freeway access. Great hiking trails, lots of deer and wildlife. We highly recommend it, you won't be sorry. The meat in the freezer is very good, the fresh eggs are great. We were greeted when we arrived. The next morning the owner was at our door making sure everthing was ok. We will rent it again.

WE LOVED THIS PLACE!

My family and I were blessed to spend a week on the ranch when my husband had to work in Roseburg for a few days. We couldn't have asked for anything better. LeRoy and Blanca and everyone else there were so gracious and welcoming. Our kids got to have their first-ever horseback riding lessons, and we saw deer, pheasants, rabbits and hawks. The house was beautiful and clean and had an amazing view. The owners guided us to a fantastic park in Roseburg where the kids could swim in the river, an orchard where we could go cherry picking, and the free Sutherlin Rodeo. You know it's a good trip when the kids want to hug everyone goodbye! We look forward to going back as soon as possible.

Wonderful Family Experience

Guest: Scooby (New River, AZ)
Date of Stay: 11/23/09 Review Submitted: 12/05/10

We rented this wondeful ranch house over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Six of us stayed overnight two nights while the rest of the family a total of 13 came for Thanksgiving dinner. We needed more place settings, and tables and chairs for this occasion. Leroy was very accommodating. He addressed all our concerns quickly and efficiently. He went out and bought an extra table, 6 folding chairs, and extra place settings, just to make our dinner a success. This was perhaps the last Thanksgiving that our Mother will be with us, as she has late stages of cancer, but Leroy made this a very special time indeed. The grand kids loved the horses and walking about the ranch. We saw deer, wild turkeys, horses, and cows. Even though it was quite cold outside, the house was warm inside with the gas fireplace. We would definitely stay again in the futrure. Everything was there to accomplish the huge meal we prepared with the exception of a few minor things which we had anticipated, and brought with us. Thanks again for the extremely comfortable stay and the wonderful holiday expereince. My one recomendation would be to provide a few handicap ammenities, such as grab bars in downstairs bath room, and perhaps a entrance ramp.

A wonderful step back in time.

We have stayed in many vacation home over many years. This lovely home truly was one of our "best" experiences. LeRoy with his wonderful welcoming hugs is such a great host and made us feel like family. The ranch-hands and their kids were very informative about what goes on with living on a ranch, the horses and other animals. We all learned so much about country living. We went there to see the sights of the surrounding area but came away wishing that we had scheduled more time just to sit around the ranch. We had 3 teenage girls and an 8 year old boy with us and not once were they bored or wanted to go off the ranch. Even our pampered dog loved swimming in the pond and hanging out with the horses. The kids loved feeding the horses apples and carrots everyday and just hanging out hoping that they could help on the ranch. Dad and mom just loved sitting on the porch wishing we lived there. The kids played outside, chased lizards, watch the squirrel, climbed trees, went fishing, gathered chicken eggs and picked blackberries along with many other fun things. We were even privileged to watch from our front porch, some cattle being herded out to the pasture complete with cowgirl. (Loved that) This was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever taken. Truly a wonderful experience and one we can't wait to do again. We will be seeing you again LeRoy!!! Thanks again.

FANTASTIC!!!

This house is a hidden gem. My group stayed here for a weekend so that we could take the kids to the Wildlife Safari - and decided to stay an extra day so that we could take advantage of all this amazing ranch has to offer. The owners are absolutely wonderful, the house is beautiful, sparkling clean and well-appointed, and the property is magnificent. Besides the domestic animals that live there, there are also wild animals in abundance. Deer, wild turkeys and even a bear were sighted by our group! Finding a dozen fresh ranch eggs from the chickens there made breakfast truly special, and we had a delicious dinner using the ranch-raised meat from the well-stocked freezer. We will come back to explore the area more fully, and we will definitely stay here. If I could give it more stars, I would - this place is just exceptional!!!

I have a condo listed on this website, and it is on a golf course, and we live near the ocean, so my family wanted to go somewhere different. We choose this Beautiful place in Southern OR. We were totally delighted with the area and with the Opfer's. It was so much fun for the whole family, and there was so much to see and do. We went Horseback Riding two times, and hicked to the Water Falls. My Husband and Son went Fishing, and we saw the Sea Lion Caves. There was so much wildlife that we just kept saying " Look over there" and pointing. The Deer are so nice to see almost everyday, and the Landscape is Wonderful. There is much more to do but we just ran out of time. The Opfer's were so very nice showing us around, and just walking and driving arount the Ranch we could see why they love it there so much. They spent a lot of time with us, and we appreciate that but, they did have to work too, so we didn't expect them to be our tour guides or anything. I had planned our trip and the activities prior to going, but I understand that he Opfer's will help you with some ideas of what there is to do there if you need suggestions. The house was great and had everything that a family needs for a weeks vacation, and more. I would suggest this to anyone who wants to get away from crowds and experience the Beauty of Nature, and have a fun time too. It was Good Family Time!

I am LrRoy's brother, Gene. My wife & I try to go to the Ranch 4 times each year. It is the most magnificant place we have ever been to! On any given day, you can see the Opfers making hay, working with cows, training horses, or doing Ranch Work. Daily you can drive around the Ranch and see all kinds of wild animals and birds, including deer, wild turkeys, Phesants, Hawks, & occasionally Elk. The property has a fishing pond, a small waterfall, a stream, park like pastures, and natural rustic forrested areas. You will not be sorry stayed in this great home on this Magnificant Ranch!!

The owner of this ranch is my brother. My wife & I try to go there 4 times each year. It is one of the most magnificent place we have ever been to. On any given day you can see the Opfers working with, or feeding, the cows, training horses, making hay, fixing fence, as well as all types of Ranch work. There are deer to see every day, and when you get lucky, you get to see Elk, Pheasant, wild turkeys, Hawks, and all kinda of wildlife. The Ranch is irregularly shaped, but is approx. 1/2 mile wide & 2 miles deep. It has two ponds, a stream with a waterfall, valleys, mountians, pastures, parklike areas, natural rustic areas,---It is an amazing place, and your life will be greatly touched, for having been there! Sincerely (Gene & Joyce Opfer)
