    My husband and I had a fantastic time at LuAn's condo! The condo has everything you might need and the view from the bedroom is awesome. The bed was so comfortable! The kitchen was nicely equipped, and the breakfast items left for us weren't just standard continental fare; there were eggs, bacon, cinnamon rolls, etc. It was great! There is great hiking within walking distance and a lovely lake right outside. And if it is raining, there are plenty of games and movies to keep you occupied. Although the town is about a 15-20 minute drive, with a little planning this didn't cause us any issues. We hope to stay at the condo again sometime!!

    We had a lovely weekend at this cozy condo. The condo was very clean and well kept with a private lake right out front. The owners supplied fighting passes and rods, including a kid's size rod which was perfect for teaching our son to fish. They also supplied plenty of breakfast food, which helped greatly as the location was further from town that we realized. The hike to the glacier is walking distance from the condo as well. The only down sides that we noted were that there is less lighting in the main part of the condo than we would have liked and there is a loud fan on the other side of the wall from the bathroom. The noise wasn't an issue for sleeping, but it was a bit startling at first. Thanks again for a lovely weekend rental.

    Just what we needed for our 16th wedding anniversary! Rest and relaxation away from the hussle and bussle of city life! LuAn's condo is perfectly located within walking distance to a lake for fishing as well as a beautiful hike up to St. Mary's Glacier. We thouroughly enjoyed both! It is also not too far from Central City where we went to see an Opera at the Central City Opera House. The condo is beautifully decorated with a view of the lake and mountain terrain! LuAn kindly thinks of everything you may need and puts much thought in all the details! We were thoroughly blessed by her hospitality! We highly recommend staying at the Glacier Retreat! We can not wait to come back!

    Upon arrival at the condo, all we could say is Wow! The drive up to the condo is beautiful and we got out of the car to the sound of water running in the creek across the road. The condo unit was very clean and well-stocked, including breakfast items waiting in the refrigerator. There was not a single thing missing that we needed for our stay. The tub is large and the shower is wonderful, unlike hotel showers with semi-warm water and low water pressure. I did have a little trouble getting acclimated to the altitude, but even that is addressed in the binder on the coffee table with information on the area. I had an opportunity to speak with several people who live in the condos and they were all very nice and had a lot of information about the area. While I was unable to hike up to the glacier due to my altitude issues, my husband did hike up several times and said it was well worth the hike. Just before leaving, we learned about an old school on the way down the mountain on Alice Road. We were unable to go inside because it was not open when we were leaving town, but if you have time it sounds like there is a lot of historical information about Idaho Springs. It was a dream location for us, as we traveled to Rocky Mountain National Park, Denver, Georgetown and other nearby towns. Idaho Springs is a lovely little town and we spent quite a bit of time there as well. Main Street Cafe had an amazing lobster benedict that I would recommend to any seafood lovers. Beau Jo's Pizza was really good, Tommyknocker's had a great menu, and we enjoyed sandwiches several times from Two Brothers Deli. We had a great time and would definitely visit again. Thanks, LuAn, for making our vacation so special.

    This condo was just perfect for me and my husband. He wanted a fishing getaway for his birthday so we chose this place based on the private lake fishing rights that are included. It was better than expected due to LuAn's special touches with the decor, breakfast foods, popcorn, fresh coffee to grind, etc. (not to mention the ease of her reservation process). The hike up to St Mary's Glacier is a must - my husband caught trout up there as well and the scenery is gorgeous. It was a great weekend!

    Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    We had a fantastic time. The home is stocked with more than enough ammenities, I definetly over packed. My daughter caught her first fish, a time we will never forget. Definetly worth the drive and reasonably priced for the accomidations provided. Very relaxing.

    We had a wonderfully refreshing and restful vacation at Luann's condo. My husband said "I'm really into this place." That was so uncharacteristic (he's a man of few words) that I had to ask him what he meant by that. He said that he felt at home and everything was the way it should be. Wow! I felt like I really scored a major league hit by selecting this place. It is clean, beautifully decorated (in fact, I wish I could have Luann help decorate MY place), quiet and serene. Luann's attention to detail in the things that she provides is spot on. Everything you would want or need is in this condo. It was a perfect vacation; we are both a little sad to be home and thinking back to our time at St Mary's Glacier fondly.

    We were looking for a one night getaway not too far from home to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. It rained the whole time we were there and we were stuck indoors. But, what a charming place to be stuck indoors! The condo is adorable and cozy. The owner went out of her way to make sure our time there was special. She left us a bottle of wine as an anniversary gift and provided everything we needed to prepare a delicious breakfast. The condo was well stocked and we enjoyed hot chocolate and popcorn during our rainy day. We were so pleased to find a place where our dog was welcome. There were even dog dishes set out when we arrived.

    Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.

    We spent our Colorado week in this impeccably decorated and well-appointed out-of-the-way retreat. This cozy condo is perfectly situated 1/2 between Denver and Breckenridge off of I-70, but requires a 20-minute 9.2 mile drive from I-70. Our host provided plenty of delicious breakfast fixings to enjoy during our stay. The condo is best for 2 people. The only windows are in bedroom area, so it can be dark in living/kitchen area. Don’t miss the 3/4 mile hike to St. Mary’s Lake and Glacier - spectacular views. Non-Coloradans will definitely need to acclimate to the 10,000 ft. altitude.

    We had a fantastic time getting away from it all at this romantic, cozy condo! The condo was comfortable and perfect for my husband, me and our golden retriever. We all felt like we were able to unwind in the relaxing and soothing atmosphere. The owner delivered a hearty and delicious breakfast to our doorstep each morning, and she had coffee beans and a grinder for us to brew our own cup of coffee. We cooked at the condo both nights of our stay, and had no problem finding the appropriate cookware and utensils. Although the weather was blustery outside, we were nice and comfortable watching the wind blow across the lake from our beautiful view. Even though the weather wasn't ideal for our stay, we were able to take two beautiful hikes: one up the glacier and one in nearby Silver Plume. Relaxing by the easy to light fireplace after a day in the blowing snow was especially nice. We'd definitely recommend this condo for a couple looking to spend a few days away from it all!

    My husband, 2-year old daughter, and I stayed at this condo. It was the perfect family getaway! The owners truly pampered us! The breakfast was delicious both mornings and the condo was perfectly clean and well-appointed. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! The cost was very reasonable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We hiked above St. Mary's Glacier. Well worth the effort to hike above the glacier... there are some amazing views up there! Couldn't have asked for a more spectacular day!

    Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.

    My buddy and I were looking for a place to stay on our hiking trip and I came across this place it was great. Not in town but not far from town. The Condo was clean and well cared for, the only thing we found wrong was my buddy said the convertible bed was not that great. We plan to head back next year.

    My wife and I had a wonderful, relaxing visit. This condo truly has everything you need. It is cosy yet spacious at the same time. We cooked our own dinners and loved the romantic atmosphere. We really enjoyed our hike up to the glacier as well as our morning walks around the lake. And, we loved Luan's complimentary breakfast so much that we decided to stay an extra night. We also took a couple trips into Idaho Springs for dinner and took a drive up to nearby Mt. Evans, which is the highest paved road in America. It's also close enough to Denver or the Ski Resort areas for day trips! Our little poodle loved his visit as well. We will definitely be back! This is a great deal. Don't pass it up!

    One of our best weekends yet! The pictures do not do the condo justice, AMAZING to say the least! When we arrived, I was a giggling 5 year old. I wouldn't have changed one single thing, other than the fact that we didn't ever want to leave! The condo was so cozy and inviting and fully stocked! We still talk about what a wonderful time we had and look forward to our next visit! It is now our number 1 destination ESCAPE for much needed R&R! THANK YOU!!!!!

    Great place for a peaceful, scenic R & R! I've never stayed in a more completely equipped rental before. The hike up to the glacier was well worth the effort.

    Wow!, is the first word that comes to mind. We had an amazing time at your condo. It was such a beautiful place. The scenery was breathtaking! We had such a relaxing time with all the comforts of home. This condo was decorated very nicely & had the most amazing view of Silver Lake. Our whole experience with GlacierRetreat has been one of the most enjoyable times in our lives & most definately our favorite vacation. Thanks so much for everything! I could not imagine a more beautiful & relaxing place to stay!

    This condo was amazing. My family and I were there recently and was surrounded with beautiful scenery. The condo was very tastefully decorated and had all of the comforts from home. The view from the bedroom window was breathtaking. It was one of the best vacations we have ever had. We took many hikes and had a great time. It was such a relaxing vacation. This was our first time to Colorado and I can not wait for our second because this condo was first class all the way. I could not imagine a more beautiful place to stay in Colorado. Everything was perfect.

    A wonderful relaxing vacation. We had supper at Tommyknockers last night. Good food. Went four wheeling in the mountains. Great trails at the top! All the comforts of home & more. So tastefully decorated. Can't wait to come again!
