THE BEST VACATION EVER! It is very hard to please 12 people & keep children entertained, but this place did it! Our family and friends will be re-booking time & time again, because Meril and his property created the perfect atmosphere for our graduation celebration. The grounds are beautiful and there are decks everywhere to enjoy the spectacular views. We canoed, kayaked, jumped off the pier and diving board, slid down the slide, bar-b-qued, and fished. If your family enjoys being outside & living life to the fullest, then BOOK here! We are already looking to re-book for Thanksgiving! I can't say enough what an incredible place this is!!!

College reunion

BOOK THIS PLACE---it is amazing!!! Photos dont really do it justice. Our group of 28 has returned three times now and each year it gets better. The kitchen rennovation is fantastic---and it was great before. New patio areas, new plants, a vertual wild, natural botanical garden. Hummingbirds and butterflies abound. Antiques, collectables, pieces of the Berlin wall the owner chopped of himself. Great place, wonderfully stocked kitchen, quite homey and very relaxing. Owner is a fantastic fellow. FUN fun fun on the slide and docks, and a 30 # catfish we had for breakfast the last day. Sorry for the fishy smell ;>) See you next July. The Dallas dirty double dozen plus 4.

University Reunion

What a fantastic place to get together with friends from University. We were a party of 20+ and this property was exactly what we needed to accomodate for all of the families. The decor was great in each of the cottages and the bunk house very quaint. The kids loved the water slide, diving board, and the deck (as did the adults). We spent an entire day from morning to night playing in the water and enjoying the location on the lake. The owner of this property was very accomodating and was available to answer any of our questions. He even took it upon himself to contact us with a list of things that we left behind and offered to send them on to us. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing getaway with friends in New Braunfels on Lake Dunlap. We were only a short drive away from the river where we enjoyed a great day of floating downstream. We have made some fantastic memories here and hope to return again next year.

Family /Senior 2010 Graduation Party

Our family stayed 4 Jun thru 7 Jun 2010. Our daughter graduated from High School and we wanted to throw her a family and friends party with 28 over night guest which included grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins. The property was so charming and we used every single inch of the property to enjoy with friends and family. It was so wonderful to have our family meet together and celebrate our daughters graduation. The owner was so great and we have already made plans to come back as a family at least once a year. Thank you so much for making a very special moment in daughters life so much more memorable. As a military family it was so wonderful to have family come from near and far and to be able to stay on the beautiful property just made everything so great. We rented all 4 properties and we will highly recommend to all of our friends and family. The property was easy to locate and the photos do not give this property justice this is a must see property the entire rustic charm is so wonderful. Everything was clean and all kitchen areas had everything needed. You will love this location right on the water yet not to far from everything. Our family will most definetly be making plans to return and we can't wait.

Spring Break 2010

We rented this property for a spring break vacation. We were joined by our children and grandchildren, along with 3 friends of our grandchildren. We used the house for the entire week and added the cottage when the entire family would arrive. Our maximum occupancy was 10 when everyone was there. The property manager was very helpful and efficient. The owner was so friendly, helpful, and congenial. This property is the perfect place for spending time in the New Braunfels area. The river (Lake Dunlap) is beautiful here. The home is clean, comfortable, and well decorated with interesting collectibles. The cottage is charming. The multilevel patios, both covered and uncovered, allow for relaxing and soaking in the sights of the beautiful gardens and landscaping of this property. The two-level boat dock is perfect for tanning, swimming, or fishing. My grandchildren loved the waterslide (even in March they had to try it). My family loved the property and hope to return many times in the future.

Our 14 Family members enjoyed every moment we spent out in this beautiful back yard over looking the lake, We had every meal on the patio and only went inside to shower and sleep. Great Place for swimmers.

Our family spent 3 days at your property August 2008 and had a fabulous time. The property far exceeded our expectations. Other family members in the area joined us for a family reunion. We had an amazing time at the lakehouse! We had 22 in our party and there was plenty of room for everyone. I loved waking up early in the morning, walking through the gardens to have coffee on the patio. The kids enjoyed the slide and diving board. We are already planning our next stay. Comment text: I booked this property and the adjoining cottage for 26 people for a 5 day reunion---we could have stayed 15 easily. The moment you step into this quaint house you look out on wonderful gardens--hummingbirds and all--and the Guadalupe River. Very secluded, private and beautiful. And what a collection of treasures from all over the world displayed through out. Plenty of hide aways for "personal space." The hosts were gracious and catered to our every need. This is not your typical vacation rental. It is spectacular!!We will definately return.

The entire property is gorgeous. I agree with one of the other reviews, the photo's do not do this place justice. The grounds are amazing. There was plenty of room for some to step away for some privacy or for everyone to get together in once spot and let loose. We had a blast and will be back for years to come. The owners are also wonderful people. We had a GREAT time!!

This property is absolutely amazing. I stayed, with 13 of my friends, from the 23-26th of May in '08 (Memorial Day Weekend). This is probably the most beautiful part of Texas I have been to. The view from the patios, the fun with the slide and the diving board. The lush gardens in the back yard made for many beautiful pictures. The water was perfect! The home had plenty of room for everyone and all the amenities that we needed. We have all decided that this will be an annual thing! I look forward to next year!

We had our family reunion here in June 2006. The pictures do not do this place justice. The backyard area leading down to the river is fabulous. Several nice covered decks in the back with plenty of seating. Everyone had a great time and we already booked our reunion here for next year.

We came all the way from Michigan with our family from Houston. Had a great time experiencing the Texas rivers- all the fun in this beautiful area. The kids had a blast with the slide as did I. Great spot to fish with grandpa. Thanks for a wonderful place to get away with family.

We only spent two days at your beautiful&peaceful home and we were left wishing we had spent more time here than our other vacation choices. It has been so calming and relaxing.
