This property has been in my family for over 25 years. I grew up enjoying the great outdoors and have always loved the diversity the area offers for recreation and relaxation. Now, my wife and two daughters frequently come down to build fond memories that we will cherish forever. Whether it's sharing a camp fire, playing cards on a rainy day, curling up with a good book, fishing, hiking or visiting one of the local parks, there is always something to do. We're happy to be able to share this very special place.

For the last few years renting cottages/cabins has been part of our families vacation plans. Let me tell you when there are 8 to 10 people you MUST find a place that has it all and Mike's cottage is just that. The cottage was clean, roomy and sleeps 10 comfortably. The kitchen is complete with dishwasher, stove, fridge & microwave. The side mud room is great for kicking off wet shoes and has an extra fridge for drinks. There is a TV and games galore for rainy days too! Outside the sliding glass doors there is a huge deck with table, chairs and a grill. From the deck you can view the pond the beautiful grounds and trails. We loved the canoe and paddle boat and the fish were biting. The fire pit was a must have for us. We made smores, mountain pies and star gazed every night. Some of our group went to the race at Watkins Glen, we all went to the Corning museum and to the Seneca Wine Trail. All just around an hour drive and well worth it. Thanks again Mike for helping us make family vacation memories, for the wine, fruit, cheese and making your home available to us.
Owner response:Hi Ed, Well it certainly sounds like you had a chance to take in some of the great attractions in the area. I'm glad you and your family enjoyed your stay. Thanks, Mike

We recently stayed at the cottage and had a wonderful time. All of the comforts of home. We had a great time hiking the trails and enjoyed the canoe and paddle boat on the pond! We didn't venture off this trip to other attractions, but may in the future! There's so much to enjoy on the property that you really don't feel as though you are missing anything on the outside! Thanks again Mike for the fruit basket, cheese and wine! Can't wait to visit again!
Owner response:Hi Patti, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. You are right, there is plenty to do around the property or just kick back and relax. Thanks, Mike

This truly was A Bit O Heaven!!! The property was exactly as expected with all the amenities inside that you could ask for. Our children loved fishing and swimming in the pond and playing on the sprawling lawn. All we had to do was sit on the deck, relax, and watch them have fun! The owner was extremely helpful as he answered my MANY emails full of questions about what to expect. We can't wait to go back next year to escape from our busy lives for a bit!
Owner response:I'm glad you enjoyed your stay Susan and thanks for the kind words. I'm glad the kids had a blast, It's not hard to do there!

We spent a delightful weekend at the cottage in late May 2011. It made for an ideal get-away weekend with family from Rochester. The listing is accurate, with the photos appropriately representing the home and grounds. Our young grandchildren loved using the pedal boat (it is a very stable boat) and tree swing; fishing was also a hit! We were pleasantly surprised by the property's convenient--yet secluded--location. The owner was EXTREMELY helpful. During previous visits to this part of NY, we had explored numerous waterfalls and the Corning glass museum. This trip we visited Stony Brook (don't miss it)!
Owner response:Thanks for the kind words Cheryl! I'm glad you enjoyed the stay. You are correct, Stony Brook is a gorgeous park that we usually visit with our kids at least once a summer as well. Thanks, Mike

The cottage was truly a very beautiful place. The photos only give you a little glimpse of how lovely the cottage, grounds and pond really are.Everything was very clean and tidy.Going fishing on the pond was fun and we caught quite a variety, bass, sunnies, and pickeril to name a few.Nearby Corning, with the glass museum and old Market street, was a treat. The owners where very helpful with directions etc. and the litlle extras where very thoughtful.Would recommend this place highly and look forward to booking it soon again, especially in autumn.

I could not recommend this property enough. The owner was very responsive and helpful. The photos on the website accurately reflect the property. It is a beautiful cottage on breathtaking property. The property was very clean and the grounds were very well maintained. As private as the property is - it's only a short drive to great shops, restaurants and attractions. We plan on a winter visit!

The web site description was very accurate and the pictures were current. The property was clean and well maintained. We loved sitting on the deck watching the deer & rabbits while listening to the songbirds! The location was secluded, but conveniently located close to many attractions [wineries, corning museum of glass, etc.]. The owner was extremely helpful and answered my questions very patiently. Not only have I recommended this property to others, but I am already planning a visit back! Oh, and if you like a NYC style pizza, we highly recommend Aniello's Pizzeria.

My family thanked me for booking this cottage. The property with the pond is so beautiful. We all enjoyed using the peddle boat and canoe (including my 72 yr. old mother). Ours sons had fun fishing. We also had a good time exploring the property, taking nature pictures, family time around the fire pit and playing frisbee. The cottage was clean, comfortable, better than expected and had everything we needed (except for a short trip to the grocery store). The owner was very helpful and answered all of our questions. We will recommend it to friends and relatives. We had a wonderful time and hope to return.
