My partner and I have been going to key west for the last 13 years and have always stayed further away at a gay resort and had to walk many many blocks to see everything the price was double and half the size of the condo and you had to eat every meal out, Yolande and Chris's place is perfect it's two blocks to Duval Street was perfectly clean had a great equipped kitchen however only made coffee and breakfast but it has everything you need. Yolande was always available if you had a question or needed something. It's on a one way street so when the bars close you don't get all the traffic noise. The pool and gardens are beautiful and you have your own condo. We will be back again next year for sure. My partner is 70 years old and he loved we could walk every where. You will love it! Thanks Again Yolande see you next year in May

Perfect Place

We came down to Key West to get married. We were looking for a place that was close to Duval, clean and affordable. We found the perfect place! The place is nicer than the pictures look, very spacious, very clean and about 2 blocks from Duval. I can't say enough good things about the place but what was better than the adorable apartment was the service we received from Chris and Yoland. They were there for every little issue that we had. Getting married was a bit of a stressful time for me and they were more than helpful in calming my nerves. You will not be sorry if you stay here. It was so much better than I had anticipated. Love, love, love this place. We will be back!!

Just what we were looking for

My girlfriend and I spent a week here at the beginning of March and could not have asked for anything more. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable, and a stones throw from Duval St. We spent our time exploring Old Town, and all of our destinations were within comfortable walking distance. Chris and Yolande were very friendly and took the time to determine what sort of activities we were looking for before making plenty of very good suggestions. We were looking for a laid back escape from the Vermont winter during which we could check out the local sites between stuffing ourselves with good food and cocktails. Other than the fact that we happened to be down there during a relatively chilly week (by southern florida standards), mission accomplished.

Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed at Harvey's Haven for one week. This cute little place was spotless (even the windows were sparkling). We were soooo close to everything, we walked everywhere. Yolande, the manager, was very helpful in introducing us to many places. Try all of the resturants she suggests! Our food experience just kept getting better and better. We will definitely stay here again. I've already shared with several people our experience here. Enjoy!!!!!

We had a wonderful vacation in Key West. Staying at the Harvey's Haven was the smartest thing we did. The condo was exactly as pictured and described. It was spotlessly clean and bug free. It was very quiet at night for sleeping. We met some wonderful folks staying at Hollinsed House around the pool, it was such a nice gathering place. Everyone was repeat visitors to Hollinsed House. We did not use our car all week. We biked everywhere!!! You can just fly into Key West and get a short taxi ride to condo and the bikes will be delivered to you. Everything was close. Youlanda and Chris were the most helpful caretakers of the property. They responded to all our calls immediately with great reccomendations about the island. It was our first visit and we hope to make it back frequently. Thanks for such a worry free, fun time, J and C

This was a first time visit to Key West and not knowing where to stay was difficult at first.Thanks to a friend recommending this website, we found Harvey's Haven! Can I say LOCATION, LOCATION,LOCATION!!! If you want to be in the downtown area, but not be bothered by noise...this is the place to be!!! I have to admit, what attracted me to Harvey's Haven was actually the kitchen, but we really didn't cook because there were so many places close by to walk to ride bikes to that you didn't have to worry about where you wanted to eat or party for that matter! The size of the condo is a large room with kitchen and bath, exactly as the pictures looked!! and that's all you need because you really are not in the room much! LOVED the pool and we had great neighbors the week that we were there. Yolande was very accomodating and helpful in advising us where to dine, drink and just have an all around good time. Perfect for two people!! VERY clean and attentive if we needed more towels! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We would stay there again just because the owners we FANTASTIC and so was our housekeeper!! Loved the flowers everywhere! I can still picture this place in my head and it feels like a year now but only has been a couple months! Can't wait to come back!!!

Worst Rental Experience Ever

We arrived as planned at the condo on June 23. When we got in, we were impressed: the condo itself was beautiful and in a good area. It has a spacious layout and the owner seems to care for it. Parking was awful though. All was great until Yolande, the manager, arrived later. She was incredibly – shockingly - rude to us. She kicked us out of the condo while hurling personal insults, all because of an honest mistake. Because of her behavior as the manager, I strongly recommend against renting this place. I would not want anyone else to go through what we did.

Pictures are true to life. Two short blocks from middle of Duval. Easy to walk to anything on the island! Condo is extremely clean as is outside courtyard and pool! I loved meeting the resident kitty, who kept me company while I lounged around the pool! Great suggestions by Yolande. Only thing I would suggest is a digital clock by the bed, baking sheets for oven, and a noodle for pool. Also, the bed is very hard, so perhaps a pillow topper would be nice. Overall great bang for your buck!!

Harvey's Haven was EXACTLY what we hoped for. An exceptionally clean place, close by all old town attractions, yet very peaceful and private. Yolande, the manager, met us when we arrived, asked our preferences regarding food and activities and made some wonderful suggestions. She took time to make sure that all our needs were being met. This was our third visit to Key West and this place was the best. It gets my highest recommendations!

An enjoyable experience in Key West

My wife and I spent five wonderful days in Key West at Harvey’s Haven. The location was perfect, right in the middle of everything. It’s located a couple of blocks from Duval Street and a nice walk to just about everything else. Yolande and Chris were excellent hosts. They spent some quality time with us on our arrival going over a map of Key West, suggesting good restaurants, things to do, etc. That was much appreciated. The condo was just perfect for us in every way, just the right amount of space for a couple. Sure there were a couple of minor things: no Kleenex was provided and there was not a very good cable television setup. But hey, if you go to Key West to watch television you might as well stay home! The kitchen was well equipped and the place was very clean. Yolande and Chris also made arrangements to have bicycles waiting for us on our arrival. There is no need to have car in Key West. If you can’t walk to it, you can certainly ride a bike to it. It was a great experience and we would certainly recommend Harvey’s Haven to anyone.

We stayed at this property this past weekend, and loved it! I was in constant communication with the owner, Yolande, and she met us there when we arrived. She let us in to this first floor unit, pointed out the amenities, took out a map of downtown Key West, showed us where we were, and made restaurant recommendations. Yolande is a very kind woman...she literally was our own concierge! The location is perfect: 1 1/2 streets up from Duval (near Margaritaville). If you rent a car, keep in mind that parking is tricky: make sure you can either park in the driveway of the condo association (which only holds 2 cars), or on the street in a spot that is not marked "Resident parking". And the closer you get to Duval, you will have to pay $1/hour to park (M-Sat 8am-midnight, Sunday noon-midnight). The unit had everything we needed, down to beach towels, suntan lotion, sunburn cream, kitchen cleaners, bathroom toiletries, extra blankets, pillows, pots, pans, tupperware...literally everything. The studio is a large open-concept, high ceilings, large bright windows and 2 exits. Did I mention how clean the unit is? I'm a neat freak, and even I was overly impressed! We enjoyed sitting on the front porch, watching the people and traffic go by. There is also a resident cat who hangs around outside and is extremely friendly and loving. If you rent a car: North Roosevelt Ave has a ton of grocery stores and liquor stores in which you can stock up. If not, there are local corner variety stores and little liquor stores you can walk to from this unit. Bring or buy plastic cups, as you are allowed to walk around Key West with alcohol, just not with glass cups. Our overall experience staying at this unit was an extremely memorable one. I highly recommend it!

My husband and I stayed at Harvey's Haven for our honeymoon. It was a wonderful place to stay. Everything was well maintained and the location is close to everywhere you want to go in Key West. Check in and out was easy. We were given a map with a list of restaurants and places to see. All the recommendations were great. If we are ever back in Key West (hope we are!) we would definitely stay here again.

My husband and i stayed at Harvey's Haven the first week in august 2011. Everything you need for a comfy vacation is here. Yolande and Chris are very helpful and accessible if you need anything from info on where to eat to extra towels. it's just as it's shown in the pictures. Extremely clean and beautiful Fully equipped kitchen comes in handy and a small grocery, Faustos, is just around the block they have everything for a well stocked kitchen. A bbq is on site, although we didn't get a chance to use it. Another health food grocery is not too far away (I can't recall the name) Swimming pool is small but it's just what u need after a long day of biking. Tropical shaded courtyard is wonderful escape from the heat! We didn't get to use Ft Zachary passes, but went anyway. It's nearby and a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. The location of Harvey's Haven is so perfect. It's quiet yet only a block and a half from Duval. You must go to Sarabeth's they have a fabulous breakfast. We rented bikes while staying here from the Moped Hospital on Truman only because they are the cheapest around and we were on a budget. You just have to walk about 4-5 blocks and it's $8/day rental. Get a bike to enjoy key west you'll see more! This is a wonderful rental property that we would definitely come back to. A true hidden gem.

Harvey's Haven is an absolutely wonderful place to stay...perfect for two. The location is great, close to everything in Key West, Eaton Bikes will deliver to your door! We really enjoyed the pool morning, noon, and night! it was refreshing for a very warm week in the Keys. The best part of staying at this location is Yolande. Upon arrival she met us there and took the time to show us on a map many points of interest and the best restaurants where the locals eat. Yolande and Chris were only a phone call away whenever we had questions or needed directions,. They were the best hosts ever!!! Great lobster!

Harvey's Haven at the Hollinsed House was the perfect vacation getaway in Key West! The condo has everything you could possibly need and is in a great location. Only a block away from all of the excitement of Duval Street, yet still in a quiet location. Yolande and Chris were fantastic and provided awesome suggestions for restaurants, bars, and activities. They were only a call away for anything we needed. The condo was stocked with linens and anything you need to stay in and cook. The pool was perfect to cool off after a long day of bike riding and sightseeing. Rent some bikes from Eaton Bicycles and you will be set! Thank you again for an amazing vacation!!

Harvey's Haven was the perfect location for our vacation getaway! It was only a block from all the action on Duvall St., but was on a calm quiet street. We could walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to go and it was so nice to be able to stop by our place for a break or a dip in the pool. The apartment was in excellent condition and the bed was very comfortable. Yolande was so helpful when we first arrived, giving us a map and the layout of the town, along with some interesting dining options. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Key West! Thanks so much!

Awesome Honeymoon at Hollinsed

We loved our stay. We were on our Honeymoon we had a fantastic time. We got bikes from Eaton Bikes for our entire stay it was really nice to have them and it is the best way to get around the Island. The unit we stayed in was very comfortable for the two of us.The unit and proprty are kept clean and maintained. We made dinner once during our stay we had everything we needed at our fingertips. Property managers are pleasant and very helpful. We loved loved loved having access to Fort Zach beach! We loved Pepe's for breakfast n lunch and enjoyed Five Brothers cafe con leche! We would definately do it all over again and would recommend this property to anyone heading to Key West!

I am a little bit late writing this review (we were in Key West in May 2011)...however, I still thought it was important. We went this past year after a very long 15 years of being away. I found Harvey's Haven on-line and just had a "good feeling" about it. I put all my faith in Yolande via e-mail (and snail mail) and it was the best decision!!! Harvey's Haven is a great place to stay!! The location was perfect - walking distance to everything. In the end, what made it extra special (and why we'll return) was Yolande (and Chris) though - best hosts/owners EVER!!!! I am counting the days until we return and can get another hug!!!

I looked at several places to stay when my husband and I decided to vacation in Key West. After reading about Harvey's Haven, sending a few emails and placing a couple of phone calls to Yolande, we decided to spend our vacation week here. This condo was the perfect choice for us and will be for you as well! Let me list the reasons: ... Right off Duval - lovely studio condo and very quiet ... No car needed - walking distance to pretty much everything you'll want to see and do ... Completely outfitted - from the kitchen to the bath - bring only your clothes ... The pool is great for relaxing after sightseeing or after doing nothing all day ... Yolande provided us with excellent suggestions for dining - no need to cook - you're on vacation We truly had a WONDERFUL stay and hopefully it won't be too long before we return to Harvey's Haven. Thank you Yolande and Chris. :)

My Husband and I stayed at the Hollinsed house March of 2011. It was awesome !!! The property is walking distance to everything you do not need a car. Kitchen is fully stocked with all you need!!! Yolandy and her husband gave us many local tips and arranged a wonderful dinner on Sunset Key for us for our Anniversary. Cant wait to go back next year but longer than 6 nights!!! Also loved the fact the Condo was on first floor would highly recommend it. Even though just a couple blocks from eventful Duval street , the condo is peaceful and relaxing!!! Was a wonderful experience love Key West and this property!!! Thanks again Yolandy your aweseome!!

The Studio is in an excellent location and is maintained to a very high degree. Check-in was smooth (an early) and the unit could not have been nicer. The pool and grounds are well maintained and we will not hesitate to stay here in the future.

Harvey's Haven was in a perfectly centralized location for everything we like to walk to in Key West. The room was beautiful, and equipped with everything we needed. Super comfy bed and couch/futon. First Anniversary Getaway!

My husband and I stayed here for our 1st anniversary and loved it. We'll be back, not just to Key West but most likely to Harvey's Haven as well! It was an amazing deal at the summer special price and everything was thoughtfully provided. I loved all the little "hotel" touches like sunscreen, shampoo, lotions, and soaps, beach towels, etc. Meredith was amazingly helpful as our 'concierge' for excursion planning and reservations. Location was great - just steps away from everything Old Town has to offer. We'll be back!

I stayed here for 5 days and it was clean, private, close to everything I wanted to see and do - the bike rental was easy and made the stay much more fun. The pool is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the patio area. Perfect for two or three people. My daughter joined me from St Thomas and we had plenty of room. Make sure to get a meal at Sarabeth's - two doors away and everything is tasty.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this studio! The location is unbeatable... everything in the condo and compound is clean... the pool area is perfect for reading, having an afternoon cocktail, cooling off in the pool. Hollinsed House is THE place to stay in Key West!

I recently stayed in this studio unit and I highly recommend it. Its in a great location, about 1 block away from Duval Street and right in the heart of town, within easy walking distance from very good restaurants and great sunsets! The unit is very comfortable and has a full kitchen (which comes in handy). There's a pool and very nice tropical patio area. Its a good deal and its a good setting, particularly for a couple looking for a romantic stay in Key West.
