Another wonderful winter ski season at Flight's End. Our "home away from home" is a delightful place top stay as we enjoy Berkshire East. I love it here because it is a 15 minute ride to Berkshire East instead of a 2 hour ride up-Astrid My mom and my dad and my sister and my 2 big dogs love it here-Fiona Anne -I love my ski house. See you next year-Mickey, Bruce, Astrid and Fiona

We had a great time. Some things just seem to fly by liked this week. We are without a deer this year.We spotted 2 doe, 2 coyote, 1 owl, numerous beaver, birds and other small woodland creatures. All of us had a great outing. Many happy memories and pictures. My brother and a close friend Jon came up. Dolan, Shane and I will be back again next year from Saturday Nov 24th to Sunday Dec 2. Be in touch soon. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

A group of us, 8 adults, 1 toddler and 1 baby, spent a delightful, hassle-free weekend at Flights End. The house is surrounded by lush landscapes, across from a peaceful pond frequented by ducks and geese. For a bunch of New Yorkers, this was a perfect getaway from our daily grind. I would recommend using a GPS if you plan on arriving late and are unfamiliar with the area, given cell receptions are intermittent at best. The winding country roads are beautiful in the day time, but can be overwhelming if you are not used to them. The inside of the house was simply furnished and cozy. The kitchen provided all the tools needed to prepare simple but fulfilling meals for a large group. We made good use of the fire pit and the new gas grill every night and were more than satisfied. The new washer and dryers also were great amenities to have and provided us with fresh towels when we ran out at the end. As far as supplies are concerned, since we were a large group and traveled with young kids, we came prepared and did not have any problems. There are three formal bedrooms with bunk beds in the basement. Since none of us wanted to be in the basement, which was a little damp, we used the air mattress we brought and used the living room as our fourth "bedroom." I noticed later that the owners also had a air mattress available for use. If you ever travel in as large of a group as ours, it doesn't hurt to be well prepared anywhere you go. The owners were hospitable and gracious. They live very close by, in fact, you can see their house up the road from the kitchen. Kirby stopped by to say hi our first day there and we didn't see him the rest of our time there. Despite of the closeness, we did not feel constrained in any ways. In fact, I felt relieved to know that the owners were close by in case of emergencies. The day before our departure, Kirby called to assure us that we could take our time to check out the next day instead of having to worry about the 10am check out time. That was very gracious of him and a welcome respite for us, since we traveled with small children. Overall, our stay at Flights End was relaxing and comfortable. I would recommend the place to our friends.

This place is located in a beautiful, quiet remote area, with a large brook in the back and a nice little pond right in front of the house, across a quiet country road (no more than a couple cars a day drive by). The roads in the area are so quiet, that we walked them with a baby stroller and an unleashed dog for many many miles and felt very safe. The area is beautiful, with lots of fields, woods, and occasional house in between. The house itself was spotless and had a good, friendly, old fashioned atmosphere it and seemed comfortable for 6 people (assuming they're couples - there are 3 queen size beds, each in a separate bedroom). (There are also a couple of twin beds in the basement, but it doesn't seem comfortable down there). The owners live about 500+ feet up the road and were very friendly, but respected our privacy which was greatly appreciated. We had a small fire in the back yard each night, watched stars and listened to crickets and friendly sounds of the woods, this place was exactly what we were hoping for. We enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back, hopefully soon!

A very homey and rustic well appointed country camp. The landlord was very accessible and the house was extremely well equipped. Plan to pack everything you need as there are no local groceries. How wonderful to truly "get away from it all" - It was an excellent value - see you next November!

We were all at Flight's End and had a lovely time. The one thing we thought would have been very helpful would have been a good map of the immediate area and maybe a few ideas for walks or suggestions of nearby places to visit. We enjoyed several walks in the state forest, and after the kids left my husband and I made a visit to Shelburne Falls. It is a lovely area and we all wished we had had more time to explore it. Thanks for the use of your home. We enjoy cooking together and the kitchen was well stocked with anything we needed. Perhaps we will be back!

Our family, 3 couples and two children, spent a very pleasant weekend at Flight's End. The house is not fancy but is adequately furnished and homey. We are a family of cooks and the kitchen had everything we needed. The area is fun to explore if you like gentle hiking and is not far at all to the Mohawk Trail sights which we did not have time to explore. We were there in mid October and the foliage was absolutely beautiful.

Date of Stay: 10/3 to 10/10 To Lark and Beth - thank you for your warm hospitality during our stay at "Flight's End". We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the house. It was cozy and quiet, and came furnished with everything we could possibly need and more. Watching the wildlife on the pond from the house windows was such a pleasure. We enjoyed learning about, and exploring, the town of Hawley, including the Hawley Bog, the Old Town Common, the Charcoal Kiln and the Dubuque State Forest. We only wish we had another week to explore it more fully. Thanks again and maybe we'll be back next year! Larry and Donna

This place is amazing. Very cozy home in the berkshires close to ski resorts and prime fishing areas. Also, close to Shellburne Falls, Salmon Falls, and the world reknown yoga resort Kripalu. Beautiful pond and brook, with native brook trout, adjacent to the property. Peaceful and serene. Highly recomended.
