Our apartment is located in the famous Rue de la Harpe, a pedestrian cobblestoned street 5 minutes walk from Boulevard St. Germain in the heart of the Latin Quarter. It is within an easy stroll of Luxembourg Gardens, Notre Dame, musee d'Orsay, the Sorbonne, Jardin des Plantes, the Bastille, Marais and Isle St. Louis, etc.
This 750 sq ft large duplex apartment is four floors up,(without elevator)but with plenty of light. You will appreciate the view, and above all the peace, quiet and privacy that only being on the top floor can bring. The street itself is pedestrian which means no traffic noise! A rare find in Paris.
The apartment has been completely renovated using naturel materials, while retaining the original features - parquette flooring, wooden beams, fantastic glass walk in shower. A really charming terrace where you can spend time drinking a good glass of wine, catching up with your reading or just soaking up the atmosphere. It has 2 bedrooms with queen beds, a bathroom and a large living room with a sofa bed.
Lots of space with a modern kitchen with top of the range appliances, such as a SMEG american style fridge to store all the lovely wine and champagne you will be buying.
Rue de la Harpe is a street in Paris' Latin Quarter, very quiet(no cars allowed) and cobblestoned along much of its length, it runs in a south-easterly direction between the rue de la Huchette and the rue Saint-Séverin, where it turns south-west to where it ends at the boulevard Saint-Germain. Nearest métro St. Michel and Cluny La Sorbonne.
The Latin Quarter of Paris (Quartier latin) is an area in the 5th and parts of the 6th arrondissement of Paris. It is situated on the left bank of the River Seine, around the Sorbonne University.
Fantastic location for evening strolls, boat trips, great food and wine bars all within a 10 min area. 'Sex and the City' and the 'Devil Wears Prada' were all filmed near by!!

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2003
We are Fabien (French husband) and Helen (English wife) married with 3 lovely children. After spending 3 years in the US we bought our apartment in 2003 and completely renovated it with a lot of thought and enjoyment.
We love the fact that the apartment is away from street noise, which is why we wanted a top floor flat, becareful of apartments which are too near the street on the first and second floors.
Yet just step outside and you can experience the fantastic parisian charm of the area. A really parisian experience.
Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 5
We wanted to buy a home in the heart of Paris, we chose this location because of the beautiful surroundings and authenticity. The terrace for us, rare in Paris, was the cherry on the cake.
Great for families or groups of friends, everything is in walking distance. Great use of space, a real loft feeling. Restored to a very high standard.
The Unique Benefits of this Apartment
The neighbourhood is perfect. It’s just a three-minute walk to the twice a week open air market at Place Maubert, with the most fantastic cheese shop a must for cheese lovers.
The attractions of the lively Left Bank -- Shakespeare & Company, St. Chappelle and Ile St. Louis; another ten minutes on foot takes you to the bohemian Marais area.
We wanted to keep a feeling of light and space to the apartment and to this end used naturel materials oak wooden floors, doors and beams were restored.
The bathroom has both a bath and a walk in shower, rare in Paris apartments.
The lounge kitchen is great for eating with friends. Huge American SMEG Fridge to store wine, cheese etc...
It is all about location and being so central will mean more time to enjoy Paris and less time underground.

Amazing location! In the center of everything!

My family of 4 had a wonderful stay at this beautiful apartment in the heart of the Latin quarter. The location could not be beat---step out the door onto a pedestrian street with restaurants and shops, a couple of blocks from Notre Dame. Paris is expensive for a family and with teens and the apartment was perfect with a whole kitchen fridge--we loaded it with snacks by walking to the local shop and picking up wine, bread, cheese. The owner and manager were delights to deal with. The only thing to note is the staircase is tiny and 3 flights up with no elevator.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing, girls getaway.

33 Rue de la Harpe certainly met our expectations and more. The apartment was clean and tidy on our arrival and we had the pleasure of meeting Fadela who showed us round the apartment and told us how the cooker, lights etc all worked. The location was absolutely perfect – it could not have been better! The apartment meet our expectations in terms of quality/price, It was good value for money – better than staying in a hotel for sure. We would most definitely recommend your apartment to our friends and family Thank you so much – we had a wonderful time and will most certainly try and return in the near future. Paris is a charming beautiful city with so much to see and do.

Great apartment, location and value. This is a great find for the heart of Paris in terms of quality and price. The apartment has been decorated to a high standard and has a parisien feel to it. The apt was very clean and explination to how everything worked very clear and easy. For us, the proximity to Luxembourg Gardens and local food market was amazing, and we walk there daily. It is an easy walk to many of the attractions of Paris and there are many lesser known but lovely things to see in the quartier as well. Restaurants are on your doorstep, and the Louvre and Notre-Dame 5 mins walk away. We found the apt quiet for such a central location. The owner very professional and helpful.

Great Location But Busy Area

This is a fabulous location as you are close to major tourist areas, shopping, metro, etc. However, it is extremely busy and if you are visiting during the warmer weather, the noise from the street below (restaurants appear to stay open well into the wee hours of the night) will preclude you from having the windows open. Apartment nicely laid out, clean, spacious. Also - pack lightly, as the hike to the top is daunting.
Recommended for:Sightseeing.

Just a note to say we had a lovely time, the flat was great, just right. I couldn't believe how quiet for such a busy area. I hope we can return at some point, I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Paris! Cath and family, London
