Why the Owner Chose WausaukeeWe found this property and fell in love with all the seasonal changes. We thought it was going to be a place we would visit mostly in the summer but found that there was something special each season we didn't want to miss. We found ourselves entertaining there more than we did at home. It is such a great escape.
The Unique Benefits at this HouseWe love our privacy here yet if we want to go and be around the action it is not far away. There is so much to do here and yet if you feel like just relaxing in the quite watching the eagles fly around, that is always a great option.

We searched for the perfect 2nd home for 2 years. Our first thought was to be on a lake until we found the 29 acres with 1/4 mile of frontage. We are able to go boating, fishing and 4 wheeling without being crowed on the lake. We all love to go tubing, you start at the Chalk Hill Dam and float for an 1 1/2 and end up right at our place, it's our own little lazy river. We also love to take nature hikes through the woods or just long walks through the trails. This has been a great place for us to create new memories with our family and friends.

We stayed at this beautiful, north woods home in mid-July. We were a group of about 8, and we found everything to be very comfortable and very clean, plenty of room for all of us. The home is spacious and well-stocked with bedding, cook ware, and outdoor furniture. The birds and wildlife in general, were stunning. Every morning and evening deer strolled up and stayed in our huge and open forest yard!!! We spent every day on the rivers nearby, and though it was hard to leave such a beautiful place each day to go kayaking, it was so wonderful coming back late afternoon to such a beautiful and comfortable home! We are all kayakers and really enjoyed being close to so many beautiful rivers. One of the days during our visit was too hot to kayak, and we found relief from the heat as well as great swimming at 12 Foot Falls. Don't miss this beautiful park. We are looking forward to returning next year; so many more miles of beautiful river left to explore! Thank-you for making our stay so memorable and so comfortable~
Owner response:We are very happy you had a good time. I have a link on the website that shows were all the Waterfalls are. This area is sometimes referred to as the Waterfall Capital of the Midwest. We are very centrally located for people that want to see them. Thanks for choosing our home for your vacation. Looking forward to you returning.

Weekend Getaway

We came to this home as a group to just getaway from the city, and bond with friends. It was a beautiful home placed on some scenic land. It was sunny everyday that we stayed there. The whole house, decorations, and design were just lovely. It also had many different forms of entertainment around the house. Even though we tried to walk around and sightseeing, we had to quickly go back because the mosquitoes ate us alive. So bring a ton of bug spray! The owner and Realtor provided great customer service. They were a big help in every question we had. I would recommend this home to everyone. Thank you so much for opening up your home to us!
Owner response:.Thank You for choosing our house for your Weekend Getaway. We enjoyed having you and our goal is for Guests to have a very memorable experience. As far as the Mosquitoes, I would suggest Deep Woods Off. We have found this works best in our little part of the wilderness. That should solve the problem in the future.

I stayed here with a group of friends and we all had a great time. The house was beautiful and well-maintained. There was plenty of space and more than enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably. The weather was nice when we stayed, so we spent most of the time outdoors. The patio and deck were perfect for that, and we also really enjoyed having the kayak to use. The dishes didn't look clean when we first arrived, so we washed those. Also, there were only two garbage bags there, and at the end of the stay we weren't sure where to leave the garbage. I think we also ran out of paper towels and dish soap. There are a lot of towels and bedding, so you don't need to bring any of those. We only had one big problem, and that was phone reception. Only one person was able to get any service. Everything was fantastic though, and I definitely plan on staying here again.

We rented this property in August 2010 for six nights and it was exactly as described. The agency managing the property provided excellent service and were very accommodating. Don't hesitate if you want a place to enjoy the outdoors with all the comforts of a modern home. The kids fished from the great dock area every day. There are trails for kids to ride bikes so bring them along. We floated from the lower dam to the cabin twice with all the kids and it was great fun. We took the kids to Goodman Park - a great adventure. The canoe was also appreciated! I rented this to spend time with my two sons and our grandchildren and my parents joined us with their truck camper and we never felt crowded in any way. The kitchen is fantastic and the lower level a great place for the kids to hang out. A very well maintained property. Thanks for allowing us to share your home.

Wow! Our family cannot say enough about this luxurious retreat. We celebrated Christmas this year away from home and it fulfilled our wildest expectations. Fires in the outdoor pit, walks through snow lined trails, sledding right out the back door. Even Santa made a surprise visit through the woods for the youngsters. It was spacious, relaxing, and everything we thought it would be. We can't wait to visit again, it was a memory filled Holiday we will never forget!! Thank you for your hospitality. This place was great!! The pictures all look great, but they really don't do the house justice - its even better than it looks. The owners also did a great job of decorating the house and really making it a home. With the river close by, a bunch of hiking trails walking distance from the house and some waterfalls just a drive away, there is plenty to do. And if you don't feel like leaving the premises, the house itself has plenty of activities for the whole family. We had a great time, and definitely plan on going back to visit again.

this place was AWESOME. trails everywhere on the property, which is huge --- we saw turkey, deer and even a bald eagle. there's not just the river, but a really cool creek ( thats where the kids spent a lot of time) that you can see from the master suite's screen porch. The row boat was a blast; the river is super mellow, but we caught fish right off the pier. The pier had it's own fire pit with wood, but the main fire pit/patio was why we're going back. Tons of falls to see, rafting on the pike, and golfing was great (and a nice fenced in area for the dog while we were gone), but every body (we had two families there) around that patio/fire pit thing every night for the big bonfire is our new family tradition. The teenagers say they're camping next time. 29 acres is giant and there's a secluded campsite on the river --- not me; i had the master this time so i'm in the loft next time. thats my kind of camping. this vacation felt like a vacation and if we wanted to; we could have spent the entire week without seeing another person --- 29 acres is giant!
