Wish there were 6 stars and I would have chose that one. One of the best trip we ever had. Enjoyed every corner and every moment in the house. Please add Pool, air hockey or some indoor game and it will be extra gem for your property. Can't wait to be back in Summer. LOVED IT !!!! Excellent house with Excellent Hospitality from Management. 100/100.

I live in Georgia and my sister lives in Pennsylvania. We've been looking for a good place to meet halfway and visit for a couple of days. We found it at Lakeview Lodge. My sister brought her 10 year old daughter and our mother and I brought my son and his 8 year old daughter. So there were 6 of us. Since it was the week after Christmas (we stayed for 3 nights) and it was chilly, we mostly stayed indoors. But we did go visit the owner's dock on the lake (Jerry lent us his golf cart and his dog Jake jumped aboard for short visit - what a sweetie). The girls insisted on a bonfire one afternoon in the outdoor pit and they enjoyed that. ALL the girls enjoyed having jacuzzi tub soaks a couple of times each. What a deal our stay was. The cost of one hotel room and we got a whole house! The homemade apple butter that Jerry and Sherry make is wonderful (lots of cinnamon). The lodge was extremely clean and had all the furnishings and kitchen appliances/accessories we could need (we cooked all our meals and didn't go out to eat). We're looking forward to another visit in the summer. Thanks Sherry and Jerry

Our extended family (6 adults and 3 children) spent a weekend at the lakehouse before the holidays. The little ones especially enjoyed the lighted Christmas tree, and since we were celebrating the holiday a little early, Santa had a place to leave gifts! We all enjoyed the festive table settings with Christmas dishes. Sherry and Jerry had left lights on for our arrival. What a great welcome! The accomodations were exactly as stated. Everything was clean and well maintained - the kitchen was wonderful! This is a great place to stay. The views of the lake are wonderful.

This was a first for us and we absolutely loved it. From teenagers to toddlers everyone loved it and did not want to leave! The kitchen was awesome and that is where we spent most of our time! Having our family together, Tech beating Carolina and beautiful weather was absolutely fantastic! Sherry is more than helpful and such an accommodating individual! We will definitely return for another fun time!

The place is perfect for family gatherings. The kitchen is a dream and I want one just like it. The bedrooms are large and beds very comfortable. The view of the lake is great..I would love to be there in the spring. We plan to return. Everyone enjoyed the weekend with plenty of room to spread out. We brought a dog and it was very dog friendly..thank you so much for allowing dogs. It was perfect.

My husband and I, both VT alumni, rented this house for us and some family for the VT/Miami game this past Saturday--and I'm glad we did! The house was great. Clean, nicely decorated, very roomy, and on beautiful Claytor Lake. Another plus was that it is pet-friendly so we could bring along our dog to share in the fun. I received excellent customer service from Sherry and Jerry and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a vacation, whether it's a weekend or a whole week. Maybe we'll be back next season!

My family and I stayed here the first week of August 2011. The house was absolutely beautiful and the view of the water was grand. We were able to access the water with ease and appreciate the help of the caretake who let us have use of his dock to fish and swim. Thank you for making our family vacation so enjoyable.

Our family stayed in this home for only one night but we all agreed we could have stayed there for the rest of our lives!! It is a beautiful, comfortable, clean home with a wonderful view. The owners who rented us home were the most kind and helpful couple we have ever met! We will plan to stay again soon!

The owner was very helpful in answering questions.I would recommend this property! You can see these owners take great pride in their property. This was a perfect location for us as VT alumni. The house was clean, roomy, and comfortable. The kitchen was hit, everyone wanted to hang out there. The kids loved the collection of DVD's and toys. The lake was wonderful, we appreciated the use of the canoe and paddleboat. We felt at home here.

Thank you so much for letting us stay in this big, beautiful house. Claytor Lake, stars, firepit, enormous kitchen! This trip filled so many gaps in the lives of some VT Architecture students. We had a great time and we're saving our pennies to build ourselves a lake house as gorgeous as yours. All the best.

WOW! What a place! When we arrived there was over a foot of snow covering the ground - which we enjoyed sledding on. We had no idea of the beauty to come in the spring! My husband and two young sons and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here at the lake. From making pancakes in the kitchen, to watching the night sky out on the deck - it was a memorable time for our whole family. Thank you for sharing such a lovely home.

(This comment has been abbreviated.) Thank you for the extravagant shelter from the storm. We had been without power for 4 days. We were tired, cold and worried about where we could celebrate Christmas with our married daughters and their families. Since we are Hokies, this area is very special to us. Your home is lovely and we really enjoyed cooking in your amazing kitchen. We would love to return for a football weekend next fall. May God bless you and your family!

Dear Thompson family, We wanted to personally tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. Both families look forward to a future stay without 12-15 inches of snow so we can further enjoy the beautiful setting and some fishing. Being somewhat of a cook, the new kitchen is fabulous! Best regards.

A great adventure was had during the snow storm of the decade. The house was fantastic even if the roads were impassable. We really loved all the touches of home and loved looking at the foot of snow out the kitchen window. The kitchen was especially liked and we look forward to coming back for warmer times! Thanks!
