We had rented another house for the weekend and at 3:00 in the morning on Friday, a huge tree came down. The tree took the power lines with it and blocked the driveway No power or water but than goodness it missed our car. Barely got out but then we found you. Thanks for saving our vacation weekend! We loveeeed the house. Absolutely perfect.

Came back to Glen Arbor 15-years after our first visit as newlyweds ... this time with 2-daughters & our handsome (and very popular in town) Standard Poodle. GA is as lovely as we remember and the house was perfect for our family! We love the fire pit at night and dinners in town that we enjoyed were Art's and Boondocks. The river was a great morning adventure, of course the Dune Climb and hike and beaches at Glen Haven and Empire. We will surely be back again -- Than kyou for opening your wonderful home for travelers from Illinois.

My husband and I decided to drive up here from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Since we had visited and loved it here in 2005. We were both so grateful that this lovely home was available for us this day We had dinner at Art's Tavern and walked to the beach. We wish we had more time to stay. We will be back!

Thank you for a wonder time at Uncle Warren's. We had a great time exploring and enjoying Glen Arbor. We visited the dunes, Port Onieda and Leland. We also swam and played at Old Settlers. We love Glen Lake, Glen Arbor and Leelanau County. Until we meet again ...

Had a relaxing stay. Went to Leland and Traverse City. We had rain and was cloudy so we walked on the beach some. Had dinner at Art's and Good Harbor Grill. This was a great get away, we hope to return.

Thank you for such a wonderful, clean, spacious and relaxing getaway! Spent 4-nights in Glen Arbor, first time here and we loved it. The weather was perfect and our 2-1/2 year old loves having the freedom to play out in the sun room, taking baths every night in the fabulous jacuzzi tub and going to TC to the Great Wolf Lodge. We are a family that works opposite shifts so to be able to com to this retreat and unwind and reconnect as a family was a real treat. Our dog, who's normally a little hyper (Jack Russell) was at ease and happy the whole time too! Hope to be back.

We enjoyed our stay at your perfectly-appointed home very much. Skied at Crystal Mountain two days (one in the fog, the other in the blistering cold). Walked to town for dinner each night (Boondocks for the music and the Art's Tavern). But the highlight was playing a spirited game of Risk around the dining room table together. Our 8-year old son beat us by stockpiling in an outpost. We played the game for three nights - what fun! Thank you for providing your cozy retreat to us.

I came to attend the winter feast at Leelanau School on Thursday. My son is attending there this year and i decided to spend 2-nights rather than rush home. I also brought our dog. Your home was perfect for us. It is only a mile to the school and such an easy walk to town. My son stayed here last night, we watched a movie and I cooked for us - a great reunion. The fireplace is awesome on a winter's night. Thanks for making your home available - we will rent again.

What a delightful retreat! Very impressed upon arrival - clean, cozy - delightful home. Loved watching the black squirrels, walked into town. Shared lunch @ Art's Tavern - famous for their burgers - super fries - large beer. Nice evening by the fireplace - talked and drank wine ... 13th Glomy, rainy AM - out for a run to beach - bought coffee in town, breakfast waiting upon return. Off we go - check out Sutton's Bay & Fishtown - not too bad outside. Stopped for wine tasting - too dry. Bought gifts @ Cherry Republic. 14th Good breakfast, was enjoyed by all - off to Mass - Dunes & last minute items. After lunch paced up and headed home. Thank you so much.

Celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary. Swam in a very chilly L. Michigan, hiked the beautiful trails and enjoyed both Friday's sunshine and Saturday mornings (early!). Full moon shid over the lake. Today the sweet rain makes us lazy and content. Thanks for making this lovely place available!

Bike ride to C.G. [Coast Guard] Station, then to dune climb, then finished bike ride around Little Glen Lake. Stopped for Lupper @ "The Manor" (recommended). Picnic lunch at Pt. Betsie LH [Light House], just closed for the season, but had a great hike along the beach and skipped stones between the rollers. Great trip!

Thanks for the memories and for giving us the opportunity to rediscover this wonderful area once again. We had a great time visiting Pt. Betsie, Leelanau State Park and Old Mission Point. There was beautiful hiking at the last two and exciting surf at P.t Betsie. After an afternoon of tramping through the woods and over the sand it was nice to come back to the cabin, empty our shoes and relax around the campfire.

We have really enjoyed our stay here at Uncle Warren's Retreat (who is Uncle Warren?). This is our first visit to this part of the state & we love it! We kayaked on Crystal River, rode bikes around Little Glen Lake, hiked the Dunes Trail, swam in Lake Michigan & enjoyed the shops and restaurants in Glen Arbor. We loved being able to walk to everything - great location, and so peaceful! Thanks for sharing your house - it was a wonderful week as we attended a big family reunion.

Memories made! Thanks for the canvas upon which to draw - Recommend the pizza at the cafe at Black Star Winery and the cheese plate at Tandem Ciders. The dues are a must and, fyi, the Crystal River kayak ride is easier, cheaper and more beautiful than the Platte. Mostly; unplug, park the car, turn the TV to the wall, do only what you want and enjoy!

We truly enjoyed your lovely little retreat in the woods - tucked so neatly away, you really feel as though you are in the middle of a forest and not a 1/2 block from Cherry Republic! We enjoyed our first night at the grand opening of my brother's shop "Great Lakes Tea & Spice" nice turnout. The crazy 4th of July parade was "raining" with candy - felt like Halloween - very fun - very long! Always entertaining. The rest of the week was beautiful - near perfect weather. (brutally hot on the 4th - night time was the worst) but cooled down & was perfect with the fans throughout the house. Love the screened in porch - spent hours reading & relaxing out there! The window going out to the porch makes a perfect pass-through for food and dishes - who knew?! The rooms were perfect - Grandma & Grandpa downstairs - husband and the girls upstairs. My husband had to leave mid-week to fly to Vega for the World Series of Poker - made it through day 2 so far - fingers crossed. We really enjoyed your home & hope to be able to come back and stay again! Thank you for sharing!

Uncle Warren's was just fabulous! Don't remember the last time I felt this relaxed. I never want to stay in a hotel again! LOVED the screened in porch. There is a fox living under the shed and we saw it everyday out hunting then returning to the shed. My favorite thing was just sitting on the porch reading and listening to the wind in the trees. We loved ice cream happy hour at Cherry Republic, shopping and just being here together as sisters. Thanks for some great memories

Thank you so much - My soul has been enriched with your wonderful place and with the Glen Arbor area. It rained and was cold for the first five days - the fireplace was just perfect! I feel a sleep in front of it all nice & cozy! We took a nice oil painting class through the Glen Arbor Art Association - Not only was it fun and peaceful (at the barn homestead in Sleeping Bear National Park) - it was helpful for us beginners. I'm inspired! Sampled lots of cherries and wine. Loved the Cherry Lemonaide and my dog was entertained on the porch watching the chipmunks chase the squirrels away. The Crystal river is just beautiful. We enjoyed kayaking it. The dog thinks the parade is the best ever - they threw many dog treats and she loved galloping them down - she also got 4th of July beads and is still wearing them for the ride home (she thinks she's special) Lots of wonderful pictures. The last 2-days of vacation was sunny and just so beautiful! It made the rain & cold worth it! My husband & I really appreciated this opportunity.

"Thank you for sharing your up north retreat with us. We spent 2 beautiful weeks here this summer and love every moment. The house was great for our 3 boys. They loved exploring around the woods and being able to ride their bikes to the Putt-Putt Golf! Great tip on stargazing at the Dune Climb! We stayed until midnight and even then the boys were reluctant to go. We are already longing for next summer to come here again. Thank you!"

"What a wonderful retreat ... and so close to everything that we love - Art's Tavern, Cherry Republic and Riverside Pizza. The weather was great. It only got warm (91) today, but otherwise 70's all week. We were completely relaxed and enjoyed the quiet despite being so close to town. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely retreat."

We enjoyed our time at Uncle Warren's Retreat! It was incredibly comfortable, clean & perfect for our family of "5"! We spent a lot of time on Big Glen Lake with some family vacationing there. It was beautiful! The town of Glen Arbor is so quaint! We especially loved Cherry Republic! Art's Tavern & The Boone Docks were great places to eat! We will definitely be back to visit again! We loved it here! Could we be the 1st to visit Uncle Warren's Retreat or just the 1st to sign the Guest Book? We won't be the last - that's for sure!
