Hatteras Island is very narrow, and nowhere is it more narrow than Rodanthe. In addition to our ocean views, we have better sound views than some sound-side properties.

This 5 year young home was custom built with thoughtful features to help you maximize your comfort and enjoyment. Our Beach House name “Isolation”was chosen by the previous owner. Our first thought was to change the name, it didn’t seem welcoming enough. Then we read the history of Hatteras Island and spent some time thinking about the name, “Isolation”, that the previous owners chose.
When reading the history of Hatteras Island the word isolation jumps from the pages several times. There was no paved road on Hatteras until 1952 – prior to that, islanders drove down the sand trails, or on the beach. Until the Herbert C. Bonner Bridge was completed in 1963, the only way onto the island was by water. The islanders were truly isolated.
Our home sits somewhat isolated toward the end of a dirt road, with open lots on either side. This gives us fabulous views, even with a shorter home right in front of us. Hatteras Island homes appear relatively isolated from each other, compared to cramped neighborhoods in any other coastal vacation town. This is because only 12% of the land is built-up with most of the ground being held as a National Preserve.
We feel the name “Isolation” has a certain dignity, given the island's history, and Isolation's unique site in Rodanthe.

Isolation is a wonderful house for a beautiful and restful vacation. Awesome view from the multiple decks. Great for extended family gatherings, just as the pictures depict. Enjoy!!

We stayed at Isolation last weekend I must say it was AMAZING!!!!!!! The views are awesome and the outside furniture was great. We have been coming to Outerbanks for 11 years and always get a different house each year BUT not next year!! We will defiantly stay here again!! LOVE your house and SO glad to be able to rent this. I will recomend it to all my friends!
