Come relax and be renewed here at Circle Stone Retreat, an artist-owned home near the base of the stunningly colorful, 14,000 foot tall Sangre de Cristo mountain range in Southern Colorado. From the balcony and deck, you'll be enchanted by the changing hues of the mountains at sundown, as they are bathed in the red, gold, orange, pink and purple light. At night, view the stars in all their glory.
Filled with natural light and beautifully decorated with original art and textiles, Circle Stone Retreat has everything needed for a relaxing and rejuvenating vacation. Every detail of this home has been created with your comfort and pleasure in mind, from the tasteful and comfortable furnishings, the fabulous master bedroom with it's relaxing two-person tub and views of the mountains above and valley below, to the amazing state-of-the-art kitchen with the best possible high-end appliances.
The retreat was built with an open and spacious floor plan, high vaulted ceilings, two comfortable bedrooms, loft/meditation room and separate art studio. The 2nd bedroom has a sleeping loft above which is accessed by climbing a wrought-iron circular staircase. If more than one person will be in the loft, you will need to bring your own blow-up mattress as there is only one single mattress in that area.
There's even a separate, dedicated room for meditation and yoga where you may enjoy the quiet serenity and beauty of the natural surroundings through windows that encircle the space. Off this upper level sun-filled room is the balcony, with its gorgeous, full view of the snow capped mountains. The room also serves as an office (it's outfitted with wireless internet, desk & chair, relaxing chair and ottoman) and an extra sleeping space (you'll need to bring your own blow up bed as we do not provide one at this time).
You'll especially enjoy the lovely outdoor patio off the kitchen, where you'll want to sit and eat breakfast in the morning while gazing at the breathtaking mountain view.
To top it off, the owner (an accomplished artist & filmmaker) offers you her private, 800 square-foot art studio to use if you feel inspired by the incredible natural beauty and peacefulness of the setting to let your creativity soar!
The property is located just 10 minutes to the town of Crestone, Colorado, known for its thriving New Age, spiritual community. The town has a brand new 7000 sq ft health-food store, post office, and great restaurants. There are also spiritual Ashrams and Buddhist retreats nearby, as well as art galleries and shops.
There are many opportunities to enjoy the natural environment and attractions around Circle Stone Retreat. Nearby are numerous hiking trails and 3 natural hot springs. The Great Sand Dunes National Monument is only a 30 minute drive from the house, and there's white-water rafting in the town of Salida. Skiing at Monarch is only an hour away.

Joel and Andrea Leland raised their family in Evanston, Illinois. Andrea is an artist and filmmaker, Joel is a radiologist.
Why the Owner Chose Crestone
Joel and Andrea visited Crestone during the music festival and fell in love with the area. A combination of the focus on alternative housing and energy, spirituality and the proximity to nature proved to be strong selling points in owning our own home in Crestone. Joel can walk right out our front door and up the mountain to the 14,000 foot summit if he likes, most often he makes it to the upper meadows and lakes. Andrea loves the hot springs and swimming pools around Crestone and frequents them several times a week. The beauty of the mountains are unsurpassed. One of our favorite times is enjoy a cocktail on the balcony overlooking the sun setting on the mountains above and valley below. The colors are magnificent!
