Why the Owner Chose West Dover
Mt. Snow is a great mountain which offers many things to do throughout the year. Along with new owners attempting to take this mountain to the next level it never loses track as a real Vermont down-to-earth feeling about it... and extends throughout the Deerfield Valley. You won't see fast food chains here nor big box stores, only local retail establishments all in their unique way to show you their wares and make you feel comfortable. You do develop friends in time here. Getting away from Rye Brook, in Westchester County and head up for a weekend takes us from 3-3:30 hours (180 miles)goes by quite quickly. Many times we stop along the way and find plenty of things to do and see, especially with the different routes we take on getting up here. It certainly keeps one's interest upbeat as we have been regularly driving up for over 15 years. The location is ideal. You can reach the Berkshire's to the south, the Killington area to the north, the Lake George region and Saratoga Springs to the west, and the Connecticut River and deep into New Hampshire to the east all within a 90 minutes. There seems to be just the right drivng balance. All this makes this our wonderful get-a-way. As a bonus, the new Owners are pouring money into this mountain. Their goal is to make this one of the top spots in the east. All ready some significant improvements have been made such as top-of-the-line snowmaking fans... with plenty more to come. The atmosphere at the mountain is quite upbeat.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Many varieties of restaurants, pub like spots with plenty of laughter and live music, all kinds of trails to hike, bike and ski, craft fairs, a variety of food fests coupled with two wine and three beer fests...and everything in between can keep you quite busy all within minutes of mour house or you can simply sit back and just enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer with our wonderful views, the sounds of a running river and the smell of pine. even vegetating on the comfy sectional watching TV, reading a book or putting together one of our 1,000 piece puzzles, all with the views of the mountain in the background gives you a relaxed feeling inside. I guess they call this an ideal LOCATION!!!

AMAZING Mountain Escape!

We had the pleasure of staying at Andy’s house the last weekend in January 2012. The house was more than we expected! Spacious yet cozy, secluded yet close to everything in town! The house came equip with everything – wood, linens, soaps, utensils, glasses, plates etc! We also happened to LOVE the selection of games including cards, mini golf putter, puzzles, twister and a whole lot more. The most important thing for a snowy escape was the wood burning fire stove – TOTALLY essential and warmed the entire house up. Other features we loved: heated garage, mud room, 4 bathrooms (huge plus with 10 people), Jacuzzi tubs and more! We cannot wait to book our next vacation with Andy to his home. We totally give this house a 15 out of 10!
Owner response:It's always rewarding for us to gain feedback like this. We certainly gain comfort in knowing people like our home for more than just a place to head to the mountain to ski. Good old fashion 20th century games reminds us all that video games aren't the only way to have fun. HURRY BACK SOON !!! Warmest regards, Andy & Lori

The house was everything they said and more! Very comfortable, spacious, and clean house with lots of fresh linens and a well stocked kitchen on a beautiful and private property. Located very conveniently to Mt. Snow and town. My "older" kids loved all the toys and played with games they hadn't seen in 10 years or more! The property owner was extremely kind and helpful and available for info at all times. I would definitely recommend this house to friends and would love to stay here again!
Owner response:Hey Susan: I was very happy to know your full enjoyment here was everything you hoped for. The days before your drive up I felt your enthusiasm and energy level grow as you got closer to the departure date. The appreciation you showed reminds us of how much fun families can have up here as we ourselves sometimes take it for granted. Hopefully, you will come back again and continue where you last left off. All the best for a great 2012. Send my best to Ajax...

We were extremely impressed by the this lovely home. It is so clean, warm and cozy and with all the interesting and eclectic themes throughout, we felt immediately at home. We had 6 adults and 5 kids (ages 6-11) and it was a perfect layout with lots to do. The location is prime as well, close to everything and a 5 minute drive to Mt. Snow each morning. From my initial inquiry to the stealth return of our deposit, Andy is a wonderful landlord. He left clear and helpful directions and provided us with lots of ideas and information for dining, etc. We will definitely consider renting this house next year! Thanks for an incredible and memorable experience! A fully-satisfied family from Moorestown, NJ
Owner response:Thanks Christina. That was awfully kind of you. Our philosophy has always been to go the extra mile in offering you the very best in terms of value. We believe that this philosophy is how we have been fortunate to gain many return patrons... and that becomes the highest of compliments to us. Lori and I hope to see you again next year if Mt. Snow is on your radar. All the best for a Healthy & Happy 2012. Sincerely, Andy & Lori PS Don't forget how awesome it is up here during the summer and fall months... especially with the sun remaining out well into the evening.

My family and friends had a wonderful stay at this West Dover home. The location was perfect--just a few miles from Mt. Snow, minutes away from the town, in a cute neighborhood, plenty of land, and right near walking trails. The house had everything we needed for adults and children. Our favorite aspect of the house was the wrap around deck, gazebo, and outside fire pit area. The bedrooms are comfy, clean, spacious, and clean linens and towels are provided. We had a great time this past weekend here.
Owner response:Thanks Aiden. I appreciate the great report. Hopefully, you guys will have some interest in using the house over the winter months. Even if you aren't big skiers bring up some snow shoes and comb the trails. Have a great fall. Best, Andy

The property was perfect, better than any pictures could portray. All you need to bring is your personal belongings, food, and beverages, as the house is generously outfitted. The sunny deck was the ideal place to sit and recover after completing the" Tough Mudder " challenge. The outside fireplace let us relive the challenge well in to the night. The owners were very helpful letting us know about the area. I can not wait to find the time to bring my entire family back to VT and enjoy this home. I would highly recommend this to everyone. Thanks again for a Wicked Good Time. TM
Owner response:"Wicked good time?" Only true New Englanders use this very appropriate term. Thanks for the great review. Maybe one day our paths will cross in person. Best, Andy & Lori

We were lucky that someone cancelled and we were able to get this great house for a mother daughter weekend. There is a ton of room and it is a perfect ski house! It is clean, spacious and has a very relaxed atmosphere. All the instructions were very clear and if we had any questions the owners were a quick phone call away. It snowed like crazy (not a bad thing at all) so we had a small problem with the driveway and how it was plowed, but the owner took care of everything right away. We would love to stay here again!!
Owner response:Thanks Sonia. You're an ace. Have a great summer. Hope the sun shines as much as the snow fell for you. Wait till you see the new deck next year. Best, Andy

This Vermont home is in a great location but still has privacy, quiet and great views. It was convenient to skiing (both downhill and cross country), close to stores, and very comfortable throughout. The warm garage, woodstove, open living area, spacious bedrooms and baths made it a great house to gather with my kids and grandkids.
Owner response:Thanks Terri... we were very gld to hearv that you and your clan had a great time. If you are every thinking of a summer spot this place is equally awesome. Hopefully, you will consider us next year. Best, Andy

This was our second trip to this property and we're looking forward to going back again. We have three kids (ages 5 and under) and the house, while not childproof, was warm and welcoming. Our kids loved the "playroom" - the tv area where there were many games and puzzles. The owner was extremely helpful and the house was clean, the kitchen well-stocked (as we ate most of our meals there) and the overall enviroment was great. The house was a little cold when we first arrived but once we adjusted the heat (there's a thermostat in each room), it warmed up quite a bit. Be warned - there's a LOT of snow, but the roads were relatively good. We went with another family of 4 and there was a good amount of room for everyone. I'd highly recommend this property!

This house is in a terrific location in terms of proximity to Mt. Snow and all of the area attractions. It was the perfect size and for our family and was exactly what you hope for when you think of a ski house in terms of layout and decor. - It was roomy, but warm and cozy and above all was loaded with thoughtful, "hospitality touches" that showed the owners put a lot into their guest's stay and making sure they had all the amenities, information, games, etc. needed to make their visit comfortable and worry free. We truly enjoyed our stay here and appreciated the effort made to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended and we look forward to making it back.

We recently stayed in this house for a long weekend of skiing on Mount Snow and enjoying Wilmington and the surrounding areas, and we could not possibly be happier with these accommodations. The location of this house cannot be beat by anything else we found available in the area--it is literally less than a 5 minute drive to the base of Mt. Snow and just about 10 minutes into Wilmington. The house is beautiful, complete with a breathtaking view of the summit from out the back window of the living room. We especially enjoyed the wood burning stove. The fact that the house is nestled in a forested property really made this a private get-away. The house definitely met and exceeded our expectations based on the online description. An extra bonus was the incredibly friendly and helpful property owner who had no shortage of great ideas for things to do and places to see. In all, we had an outstanding time staying in this house and definitely plan to return next year.
