This condo has been graded ‘A’ for décor and contents by the Maui condo and home company. These are high quality condos rented at an affordable price.
The kitchen is stocked with dishes, as well as an array of cooking utensils. There is a refrigerator/freezer, oven, stove, microwave, and dishwasher, as well as a coffee maker and blender.
The living room has a Queen size sleeper sofa, a 37” flat screen TV with DVD player, a table and chairs, a computer desk, and a ceiling fan.
The bedroom has a King sized bed, dresser, 2 nightstands, mirror, ceiling fan, and a safe for your valuables while you’re on the beach.
The master bathroom has a toilet, medicine cabinet, sink, mirror, hair dryer, and a walk-in shower, while the 1/2 bath has a medicine cabinet, toilet, sink, hairdryer, and mirror.
The property features an extensive and beautiful lawn area with dozens of loungers, with a heated swimming pool and deluxe barbeque facilities.
The atmosphere at the Kihei Surfside is unique. Guests are frequently invited to participate in pot-luck meals. It is customary for the residents of the Kihei Surfside to gather in the evening for cocktails on the shore near the tiki torches for a traditional Hawaiian sundown ceremony. This is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors and fellow vacationers! Coffee is served in the back yard every morning, Monday through Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
Our condo is located at 2936 S. Kihei Road, Kihei near Keawakapu beach, on the desert side of Maui. Because of this, the sun shines more here than anywhere else on the island. The Kihei Surfside Resort has 84 deluxe units in 6 floors, with an elevator in the center of the building.
There are two very nice oceanfront restaurants within 100 yards of the resort, and the Grand Wailea Hotel, the Shops at Wailea and Wailea/Makena Golf Courses are close by. Also, Kahalui airport is just twenty-five minutes away. Rental cars are available at the airport or in Kihei and there is free parking on site. Costco, Wal-Mart and Sears are all located a few minutes from the airport. And Safeway, Foodland and Star Market are a short drive from the resort.
The world class golf facilities of Wailea and Makena are nearby. Windsurfing, and many other water activities are also available nearby. Some of the best snorkeling on Maui is only steps from the property. The Pacific Foundation conducts their annual whale count from our property. The Kihei boat ramp, from where the pleasure boats and sightseeing/snorkeling tours depart, can be seen from the lanai and is a two minute walk.
Kihei town itself is only a few minutes away by car and boasts many fine restaurants, video and gift shops. Historical Lahaina and beautiful Kaanapali beach are a scenic 35 minute drive towards the western part of Maui.

Why the Owner Chose Kihei Surfside
We stayed next door while the condo was being built, and we loved the view, the location, and seeing the whales swimming by. Since it was such a nice building, we decided to purchase a unit. We had been looking for a vacation home, and had tried Tampa Bay and Phoenix, and thought that the weather, climate, and atmosphere were so good that we just had to make it our home.

Joanne and I have been going to Hawaii for almost 45 years, and we are the original owners of unit 612 (which we have owned since 1976-77). We have thoroughly enjoyed our time there. I have been the president of the Homeowners association for 6-7 years.
