Port Townsend is the jewel on the Olympic Peninsula. So much awaits you to explore and enjoy. But first you must find the right place to call "home" during your visit. The moment you open the door to our home, you will be greeted by the floor to ceiling windows ...and the full view of the Port Townsend Bay.
Then, as you refocus your attention to the inside, you will be delighted to explore this home designed by famed Northwest architect, "Paul Kirk". The clean and simple lines that the mid century modern home brings are evident here and it has been lovingly restored to it's original beauty ... and updated along the way. The furniture and decor reflects the era and we hope that you will be as delighted with it as we are.
While you are at this home, you can park your car and not move in it until you are ready to leave. We are four blocks from "Uptown", where you will find a wonderful Farmer's Market on Wednesday and Saturdays, great restaurants, a theater and DVD store, grocery market, parks and much more. If you go down the street about four blocks, you will arrive in the "Downtown" area. This is filled with art galleries, retail stores which include: clothing, jewelry, music, books, gifts and much more, amazing restaurants that have been written about in Cooking Light and Sunset this summer, ice cream and pizza, kayaks for rent and great beaches to explore. Jump on the ferry and spend 30 minutes out on the water enjoying your easy trip to Whidbey Island. All of this and then, simply walk home. The days are full and the house is relaxing and waiting for when you think it's time to sit and plan the next day.
There are four bedrooms and two full baths in this open tri level home. The floor you enter on has one of the king bedrooms as well as a twin bedded room. A full bath completes this level. Step down a short staircase and you enter the living, dining and kitchen areas. The ceilings are high here, as well as the windows ... two stories worth, so that you can take in much of the outside without having to leave the room and miss any of the conversation. There is a flat screen TV which receives Direct TV, a DVD player and a hook up for your MP3 player which will play your music or your DVDs/videos. Another few steps down and you will find the second king bedroom and the bunk bedroom. The second bath (all newly done) and the washer and dryer are on this level as well.
The days can be as full or as relaxing as you desire. The home is there and ready to help make your visit to Port Townsend one that you will want to repeat!

Year Purchased: 2008
This house is very special to us, as it was where my husband and his siblings all grew up. It had been lovingly cared for by his parents, who had known and hired Paul Kirk to design their house, in the mid to late 50's. When it came time to decide what to do with this house after his father passed away, we realized we weren't ready to part with it and that was the beginning of a year of remodeling and furnishing it to get it ready to share with others. We have made it a very special place that we all love and hope that others will enjoy it and care for it as we do.

This house is in the perfect location to enjoy each part of Port Townsend and the Olympic Peninsula. From here you can travel up to Victoria or the San Juan Islands or Seattle ... and now even to famous Forks!

This is where we stayed this last year for our annual end of winter girls getawy. It is picturesque. We could not have chosen a better place to stay. The sunrise was the most amazing we had ever seen. What a view! We had dear in the yard every morning! The house felt like an Ikea showroom. We LOVED IT HERE!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

There were seven of us, siblings with spouses, gathering from opposite coasts for a week together. As soon as we stepped through the front door we knew we had chosen the right place! The house is welcoming, attractively furnished, all amenities provided, and the view is entertaining and relaxing. Raccoons visited the yard in the morning and a family of three deer came every evening. We were within walking distance of both uptown and downtown and we always took a map of historical sights so we could get to know the area. The owners have a wonderful notebook giving great tips on places to eat, where to shop, and scheduled local entertainment. Now our question -- when will we be able to return?
