Summer Breeze Villa is located approximately 400 feet from the water's edge, and a short walk to the grocery stores and center of this quaint town. Four bicycles, three(3) kayaks, and beach chairs are provided. Four (4) fishing poles are also for your use. Golf carts and boats are available for rent. A local Fast Ferry stops each day with connections to Harbor Island and Nassau.
The house has a spacious, open floor plan, with ocean views from all rooms. There are 3 master suites, each with a king-sized bed and its own full bathroom. There are ceiling fans throughout, and 8-foot screened sliding glass doors for ocean breezes in every room. The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for entertaining in the large living area or on the 1400 square foot deck overlooking palm trees and the turquoise blue Caribbean water! The house sleeps 9 comfortably, and is kid-friendly.
Spanish Wells has beautiful white sand beaches, and water so clear that you can see your shadow on the bottom. The small island is the lobster fishing capital of the Caribbean, inhabited by European settlers dating back to the 1600s. Crime is essentially non-existent in this clean, safe island community. Stretching from Spanish Wells to the northeast tip of mainland Eleuthera is a beautiful barrier reef called the Devil's Backbone which is inhabited with an abundance of marine life. This area is fantastic for snorkeling.There is world-class bone fishing on the flats surrounding the island. Other island amenities include boat rentals, golf cart rentals, bicycle rentals, fishing charters, snorkeling trips, and cave tours.

First, I have to say that I have spent hours on internet looking for the perfect place for our vacation. We were two family of 4 with kids from 12 to 15 years old. I wanted a place big enough for all of us and that would provide privacy to each family. We wanted to have a nice beach, so the kids could enjoy without any risk. We also wanted a quiet place, not full of tourists where we could relax. Summer Breeze met every criteria we had and more. The 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms gave us plenty of space. The beach was breath taking. We had seen many beaches before from different travels but this one was spectacular. And Spanish Wells being a small island, there were days when we were alone on the beach... The house was super clean (and I am very picky about this!), well maintained and fully stocked. The caretaker Johnny was available for all our questions and needs. We rented his boat and went snorkeling. We saw dolphins, turtles and much more. It was truly paradise... If you want to disconnect from your day to day routine, this is THE place. My kids now want to move to Spanish Wells... and so do I :) The communications and transaction with the owners went very well... Pickup was arranged for us for arrival and return without ever waiting for anyone. Thank you Ansley for giving us the opportunity to rent your house and for making sure everything was OK for us. WOW! I read house reviews and googled island before booking-thought I knew what to expect. Upon arrival I realized I'd discovered a hidden jewel of a vacation spot and rental home! I was greeted by genuinely nice people (Johnny-home caretaker); FANTASTIC scenery (The Ferry ride from Eleuthra that I was dreading was the FIRST highlight of trip! The water was composed of colors beyond description and the 5 min. ride wasn't long enough); Seabreeze Villa was beautiful and well maintained on outside, and inside it was clean, freshly painted-LOVED the colors, spacious and well furnished while maintaining a 'homey' relaxed feel. Traveling w/ my 4 yr old niece, I was worried she'd break something, but the house was so welcoming my 'stress' was left at the door! The huge deck was perfect for my niece to play on in the evening while I watched from the hammock in yard, the beach a 3 minute walk away-close enough for easy return for lunch and naps. We all enjoyed the kayaks, from my 70 yr old Mom to my 4 yr old niece. Don't miss the kayak trip to the 'Big Rock' that is just to left of beach! All kinds of sea life...rays, tropical fish, it was like snorkeling from a kayak. The sand was white or pink, shells abounded (don't go for a walk without a pail!) and virtually private...we saw maybe 20 people a day. Whether you rent a boat from Johnny or charter a fishing trip with Capt. Ryan DON'T miss going out on the water for a day (or 2 or 3!). The look on my niece's face when the 3 dolphins appeared by the boat was priceless! Take time to visit Egg Island, a deserted island perfect for shelling, lunch and an afternoon swim. Also, before arrival, I was a bit worried the 'young adult' members of my group wouldn't have enough to do, as the island is small, dry (no alcohol/ bars--stock up at Ferry Dock before leaving Eleuthra or call 'Buddha <all phone #'s you may need in guest book>)...as it turned out we ran out of time before we ran out of activities! Bikes, beach chairs and toys, coolers, floats, kayaks, fishing equip...all and more we found (as owners promised) in the basement. The wireless internet kept me in touch with work (or not, my choice), There were TV's in every room-I didn't turn one on the entire trip!-my niece enjoyed the large selection of kid's DVD's. The 1st nite I got in bed and found high thread count sheets I knew I was in Vacation Heaven! My only complaint is that I had to leave, Thanks Ansley and Jay for sharing your home, I'll be back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

I have been to Summer Breeze 3 times and each time has been fabulous! The home continues to provide luxurious and easy beach living. I live in South Florida so my beach standards are very high and Summer Breeze will remain my place to go to get away! It rained 5 out of the 9 days when I was there in May, so I spent a lot of time lying on a lounge on the large deck reading my books (or books from the home library when I finished mine) or just watching the storms roll in on the ocean. Long naps on the couch during the day were easy because the home is so comfortable. The decor is soothing, calming and comfortable. Great TV for those starless cloudy nights. Didn't miss any of my favorite shows! The kitchen had anything I needed, especially to prepare local lobster for the new state of the art grill, which was used a lot! When I did get to go to the beach, the bathrooms in the home provided long hot showers, though I did think about a long hot bath! Ryan took us out shelling and fishing again and he continues show me new and beautiful sights. I felt so safe with him when the seas got really rough, though that was the best day of fishing! As always, Johnny was pleasantly available for anything asked of him. He really gives of himself, like family! Thanks Ansley for keeping such a beautiful beach home for me to run away to! 3rd time around at Summer Breeze Villa. Lots of great changes around the house and in the villa. This place is "so" for us, we re-sourced our energy, like expected. Locals are so nice and helpfull, it's a blessing to have the chance to live those precious moments. The owner calls regularly to make sure all guests are fine and that we have a pleasant stay. The carekeeper is always avalable if you have questions. Thanks Ansley and John for sharing your piece of paradise.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

We stayed for a week with 2 small kids and 3 adults, and could not have been more pleased with the house or the island! Previous poster needs to get a grip on life. The owner set up our pick up from the airport and the housekeeper John was waiting for us at the dock on SW. Return trip arrangements too, including a 6 am pickup at the house, ferry ride, and taxi to the airport. She also called the day of our arrival to make sure we were all set. John also brought us 6 lobster tails (free of charge) that evening. House was great...what you see in the pics is what you get. Beach was as nice as we've ever seen, and we've been everywhere. Rented a boat and golf cart from John for very reasonable rates, and really enjoyed the island and people. 3 kayaks and more bikes than I could count were awesome. If you love peace and quiet, SW is the place for you, and Summer Breeze is a great deal!!! If you like to fish, this location is amazing. Oh, and yes, we got back our security deposit, no questions asked.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car.

Spanish wells is beautiful this house not so much! Welcome to a grungy,dank, badly in need of a rehab, flashback to bad taste 1970's The owner pleads for good reviews. We encountered the following issues - surly (almost aggressive) cleaner was there for 5 hrs of our first day. We were not allowed into the house during this time - TV caught fire while my kids were watching it. No apology made. Thankfully my husband put it our before the house burned down. - no propane in BBQ - door handle fell off - - no dishwasher, old dirty dishes & Pans - horrible showers, old and funky - view of the beach if you stand on your tippy toes in the living room. - we were warned by someone on the island that the owner here was notorious for keeping security deposits and sure enough she kept ours! Then said she'd return it for a favorable review. Sorry cant be bought lady! - There are lots of other great rentals on the island. They actually have sea views and clean comfortable accommodations.Owner response: Our first bad review! Needless to say, we’re not happy with the review, but not surprised either. The renters that wrote this review were not happy when we decided to keep their deposit funds because they essentially trashed our house. In fact, our housekeeper and caretaker's family said that they have never seen a rental home left in such bad shape. I would go into much more detail, but I'm limited to 2500 characters with this response. Suffice to say, the expenses we incurred for 2 full days of cleaning and to repair or replace the damaged items were not covered by the $200 deposit funds. As far as the furnishings, decor and ambiance of the home, the pictures on the website and the other reviews speak volumes about our home. By way of example, check out the reviews from the renters who stayed at the house the week prior and subsequent to these renters' stay. We make every effort to keep our home appealing, comfortable, and functional. The kitchen is extremely well-stocked, the linens are top-quality, the walls are freshly painted with bright, tropical colors, and our (very pleasant) housekeeper does a thorough job of making certain that the house is clean for our renters. Next, the home is advertised as an "ocean view", which it has from every room. When my 6-year old heard this renter's comment that you can only see the ocean standing on your "tippy toes in the living room", he promptly stated that he can see the water without standing on his tippy toes. He's 47 inches tall! Lastly, we have never pled for any reviews. We've been very fortunate to have excellent renters stay in our home, which is why we have never kept any amount of any other renter's deposit funds. That being said, the comment by these disgruntled renters that I (Ansley) am "notorious" on the island for keeping security deposits is simply not true. Nor is the statement that I offered to return their deposit for a favorable review. We made the decision to keep the deposit the day that these renters left, when we received a call from Spanish Wells about the condition of our home when they left. We trust that prospective renters will read all the favorable reviews, and take my comments regarding this review into consideration when deciding whether to rent our home. When we first booked our vacation we had very high expectations after reading all of the comments posted on this site. To our delight the vacation exceeded our expectations. Jay and Ansley were very helpful and the house was stocked with all the comforts of home. If the comment section allowed pictures you could see how beautiful the house and the Island truly is. The beach, ocean and the landscape were incredible. Our days were spent at the beach with our children and evening were spent barbequing seafood on the large deck in the evening. Make sure you get to know the people on the island as they are part of what made the trip so amazing. We met a few of the locals through “Buddha”. This lead to several parties and outings with the incredibly fun and friendly locals. One of my highlights, which will give you a sense of the Island, was meeting two lobster fisherman playing dominos at one of the local parties. I happened to mention my interest in their lobster Industry and the next day they gave us a private tour of the lobster factory and their large operational lobster boat. We then proceeded to spend the afternoon spearing lobster in the Atlantic. No matter how hard we tried, “Remy” and “Crane” the two locals who took us out would not accept compensation the tour. Not even for the gas. They very just happy to share the Spanish Wells experience. Other highlights include catching 36 fish in 4 hours with a local guide, Harbour Island tour and just relaxing at the Summer breeze.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

What a fantastic way to get away from it all! Our stay at Summer Breeze was everything we had hoped for and more. While we had discussed taking excursions from our beach to Harbor Island, or renting a boat, the perfection of the house and the beach ended up being all we really wanted, as we spent most of our time there. The house had all the amenities we could possibly hope for. We made regular use of its grill, and the kitchen contained everything we needed for our week-long stay. Even in the heat of late July, the house was always cool and comfortable with its array of ceiling fans as well as air-conditioning. The back deck is truly humongous and great for evenings. There's even a hammock in the back yard! Free Wi-Fi kept us in contact with as much of the real world as we wanted, which wasn't much :) We made use of the tremendous collection of DVD's for some evening entertainment as well. The highlight, though, is the beach itself. Probably the most perfect beach I've ever seen. There was not a person within 500 yards of us, and the water was some of the clearest I've ever seen. You could see the shadow of the kayaks (which the house provides:) ) on the ocean floor. The water temperature was also perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and just laying back and relaxing. What was great is that the house has beach chairs, umbrellas, the aforementioned kayaks, beach towels and lots of other supplies for the beach, which takes a load off a vacationer's mind. The owners were great through every step of the process. They arranged for our transportation from the airport to Spanish Wells, checked in a couple of times during the week to make sure all was well, and were extremely friendly in all of our dealings with them. The caretaker, Johnny, was also available whenever we needed (which wasn't often given the perfection of the place.) It was sooo relaxing, and incredibly difficult to leave. We're really hoping we can come back some day soon.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We spent two weeks at Summer Breeze. Our stay was very comfortable. The house is very big. It accomodated all of us (4 adults & 4 children) easily. Everything we needed was available. The kitchen is fully stocked, the bedrooms are large and the king size beds are very comfortable. Having separate bathrooms with showers in each bedroom was very convenient. There are plenty of movies, books and toys for young children and a nice DVD selection for the grownups as well. Having flat screen TVs was a nice way to finish up our nights. The owners also provided us with kayaks, beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards & an assortment of beach toys. Those made our sun drenched days at the beach, a blast! We appreciated the fact that Ansley checked in on us a few times to make sure we had all we needed. She was completely honest about everything. There were no surprises upon arrival. The caretaker Johnny, is a great guy and is always helpful. He's the go to guy if there's a problem (not that we had any) and he will answer any question you may have about the island. Spanish Wells is a beautiful community with breath taking beaches. The island is extremely safe. The people are very friendly, and nice. Don't expect to find any tourist attractions or high end restaurants there. There aren't any. What you will experience, is Spanish Well's island life. No stress, and lots of relaxation. We loved going to the beach, and finishing up our lazy days on Summer Breeze's huge deck. Grilling lobster while sipping on a cold drink and sharing laughs with our friends made our two week stay one of the best experiences we've had.Recommended for: Families with young children.

We searched for years to find the right spot. A island that will never be commercialized. Spanish Wells is a peaceful, safe, charming island town with very friendly local residents. The fishing is second to none, and the beaches are beautiful and unspoiled. There is no place like Spanish Wells in the Bahamas, or all of the Carribean.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Spanish Wells is the lobster capital of the Bahamas, and there is never a shortage of fresh fish on the island. There is awesome bonefishing right on the beach in front of the house. A short boat ride from the house is the Devil's Backbone reef, for great snorkling. The house has an open floor plan that encourages social gatherings in the large living room/kitchen area or on the huge deck. The large bedrooms offer plenty of privacy, each with its own bathroom. You can star gaze at night on the deck, or roll out of bed in the morning to walk down the short sandy path to the beach with your morning cup of coffee and be the only person on the beach.
