Welcome to Sleepy Creek Cabin......
If you are looking for a unique and rustic cabin to relax and recharge in a beautiful mountain setting, you've found it! Private, yet convenient to all the High Country has to offer. Come and experience the charm of a 'real' pioneer log cabin. Enjoy the simple pleasure of nature's beauty and early Americana bundled into one. Take a deep breath, now...exhale!
Sleepy Creek is made from the logs of two authentic 1800's log cabins (from Kentucky and West Virginia) that were re-assembled and joined to make a very unique and comfortable vacation get away. This cabin is constructed of beautiful antique hand hewn poplar and oak logs, wonderful stonework, complete with a cedar shake roof. It is located on over 4 acres of wooded land with a beautiful stream running past the cabin through the entire acreage.
The interior features large rooms with (2) bedrooms and (2) bathrooms. The master is located on main floor (queen) and has a small private bathroom. Black walnut plank flooring, antique knotty pine paneling and soap stone block fireplace blend with newer components to set the stage for this cozy retreat. The second bedroom encompasses the entire upstairs (one double and two single beds) with vaulted ceiling and ceiling fans.
The rustic farm house style kitchen is fully equipped, features all new appliances, but maintains it's country charm with period pieces, including an authentic turn of the century Hoosier Cabinet. There is also a separate laundry room. A 2nd bathroom is located downstairs. But the best part is the covered front porch. Relax to the view of the very noisy creek and the many hummingbirds that frequent the cabin in the summer. Don't forget to enjoy a picnic or nap by the creek - benches, picnic table and hammock provided. Sleepy Creek provides the perfect setting for your relaxation, comfort and enjoyment.
Sleepy Creek is conveniently located to Boone, Blowing Rock, Todd/New River, W. Jefferson and access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is just over our ridge.

Wow, what a cabin! My parents, son and I couldn't have asked for more, especially for my dad's birthday. The cabin was very comfortable and clean but needed better reading light. We loved hiking in the woods and playing in the stream. I would recommend this cabin anytime.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is very comfortable and just being there was very relaxing for us. Our kids (age 8 and 5) really enjoyed the creek. The location is great for seeing the local sights like Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, Boone, and Linville Caverns. I had great interactions with the owner. She was always responsive and very helpful. We would happily recommend this cabin to others.Recommended for: Families with young children.

Our visit and stay at Sleepy Creek was so amazingly wonderful. The owners haven't missed a beat when it comes to the little things that make a get a way perfect. This cabin is in a perfect location, very clean and comfortable and over all the perfect place to enjoy peace and quiet. We traveled to Boone and Blowing Rock and enjoyed the beautiful scenery, fun, unique shops, wonderful restaurants and great Farmers Markets in both cities. We recommend this cabin to anyone who is seeking that sweet time to get a way from the hectic life and craziness of the city. We will return.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We had a fantastic time celebrating our anniversary at this charming mountain cabin! Everything was more than expected, from the welcoming exterior as we arrived to the snug, cozy interior to relax in. We loved the creek that runs in front of the cabin, and enjoyed watching the chickadees on the porch feeder. We also got to enjoy a mountain snow one morning...so beautiful!! We will definitely make a return visit to this wonderful mountain retreat!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

This was our second stay and Sleepy Creek and it was another amazing getaway! It is so peaceful and quiet here. The kids love to play in the creek (in their pajamas) and the adults like to sit on the porch in the rocking chairs and just relax. The cabin is just beautiful and it has everything you could need to make your stay comfortable. We were so sad to leave but we know that we will be back!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

This is someone's home. The owners have shown immense love for this property. They really want the visitor to enjoy their time here. We enjoyed four peaceful nights at Sleepy Creek. When we drove up to the cabin, we said, "Wow". And when we opened the front door for the first time, we said, "Wow." Then, when we went out to the porch overlooking the stream, we said, well, you probably already know our reaction ! You don't really need to bring anything except for your favorite bottle of vino, your favorite walking shoes, and your favorite book. You might include a hatchet to cut kindling if you are there during the winter months. Fantastic little cabin and our dog loved it, too - she felt right at home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

About the owner: Choosing the perfect vacation home is so incredibly difficult and personal. We knew we wanted to restore an antique log cabin, with all the trimmings that come along with the simple, unique craftsmanship of our early pioneer heritage. Twenty years of dreaming, off and on again searching, found us in what we believe is an incredibly beautiful section of the N.C. Mountains. Located in a quiet valley setting, with a cold noisy mountain stream to lull us to sleep, yet within convenient proximity to nearby towns, and Parkway access just a hop, skip and jump away - we were home! A few years, and a lot of hard work later, Sleepy Creek was created, and has become a very special place for us to unwind, enjoy simple pleasures, and make special memories with family and friends. We hope you will visit and enjoy the cabin and area as much as our family.
