Relaxing week of fun!

We had a wonderful week. Everything was at our fingertips. So much to do, we could not do it all! Plenty of room for everyone. We could hang out together, or in small groups all over the house. Loved it, and would recommend it to others!

WHAT A HOUSE!!!!!

A family gathering/graduation brought us to this wonderful home. Pictures can't capture it's true beauty and all the wonderful amenities. The owner showed us around shortly after we arrived with southern hospitality. This house is well maintained & offers lots to do....no need to leave the property.....plenty of resting/private places to relax and take a nap. Lounging on the upper deck of the boat house felt like we were on a cruise. We rented a pontoon boat & did some fishing. Beautiful sunsets! The only place we ate at was Sweet Juicy Butts BBQ....pulled pork was the favorite! Yes, I would recommend this property to friends.

Amazing Vacation!

This was the perfect house for a long weekend Get-A-Way with friends and family. Dr Lynn met us for check in and gave us an entertaining tour of his beautiful home. His stories kept us laughing and we appreciated the time he took to show us all the amenities and how everything worked. This house is just spectacular! We relaxed on the screen porch, took walks in the quiet neighborhood, and enjoyed the movie theater and game room. We didn't have to go anywhere...this house had everything we needed and so much more! The beds were super comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The lake views and sunset were gorgeous! Everything exceeded my expectations. No one wanted to leave! This weekend was for "the girls" to getaway and relax. We spent a lot of quality time together, made lots of memories, and are thankful for the generosity and hospitality of Dr Lynn. We'll definitely be back for more fun and will recommend this as the perfect vacation spot!!

Fantastic Family Vacation

Guest: Allen (Orlando, Florida)
Date of Stay: 07/17/10 Review Submitted: 08/20/10

My family and I (10 adults and 3 grandkids) spent the week of July 17 - 24th, 2010 at Dr.Jim's lakeside "cabin". Never been to the SC mountains for a vacation but we had a ball. One of our son's brought his boat and our other son brought kayaks. We never left the home as we had so much to do on the water, at the dock and in the yard. We fished, played bocci ball (1st time ever), sunbathed and, perhaps most fun of all, jumped and swam off the 2 story dock. The lake is fantastic with some very pretty homes as well as wilderness shoreline. We rented the pontoon boat for a day and cruised to the falls - very relaxing. The house is ideal for larger parties and there are plenty of bathrooms to go around. While we had planned to go sightseeing, perhaps over to Toccoa or up into NC, we had such a good time at the house we never left. Tried some jogging but those Carolina hills are a bit tougher to handle than our Florida flatland. This was one of our best vacations. We would recommend it for those who like the water, those who want to get away and just chill and especially if you have a larger group or family - plenty to do and plenty of separation space for all. Dr. Jim was a gracious host and helped make our stay pleasant and memorable. We heartily recommend this lakeside retreat and would return in the future.

AMAZING LAKE HOUSE - WE DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE!!!

Dear Readers: Words cannot truly express how happy my family and I are with our stay at this astounding lake house. Our visit was July 10, 2010-July 17, 2010. The house is beyond amazing!! I assure you, pictures DO NOT do justice. From the moment we walked in and Dr. Lynn was giving us the grand tour, our jaws were dropped. The house is packed with first-class, top of the line EVERYTHING from appliances to fixtures to flooring to bedding to decorations to the ENDLESS entertainment. I read all the reviews prior to our stay where other renters mentioned that you never have to leave and I can reassure you that that is entirely true. We did some sightseeing but we all agreed it was better to just stay in! My family ranges from 3 years old to 80 years old and everybody was THOROUGHLY ENTERTAINED! We were all so pleased with the house that we already book for next year!!!! :-)

An AWESOME weekend get away

· For the first time in many years our family was blessed to locate a centrally located site for my mother and all of my siblings and their spouses to gather together as a family (eleven adults). I would definitely recommend this property to anyone that desires a well maintained, fully furnished, relaxing environment to spend with friends and/or family. We saw no need to explore nearby attractions because the house was serene and masterfully furnished with so much to offer. We were fortunate to have wonderful weather during our stay; however, there is plenty to enjoy indoors in the event of inclement weather. You really cannot go wrong with this wonderful house. The listing photos do not do justice to this home as there is MUCH more to this wonderful house than portrayed by the pictures. The owner (Dr. Jim) is a gracious host, very helpful in providing information and answered all questions about the home, the area and the most scenic route. His personality is such that everyone in our party felt like we'd known him forever. Definitely a person you will never forget. Dr Jim, we would all like to thank you for allowing our family to share your home. We are already making plans for a return visit.

Our Board of Directors met at this house for our annual retreat. It was important for our purposes to have an uninterrupted environment, whereby our work and discussions could be accomplished. The relaxed setting was very conducive to our needs. The amenities at the house were more than expected; the stunning view of the lake was definitely a bonus. The theatre, pin ball machines, and pool tables provided entertainment for down time and relaxation. We will definitely consider having our Board of Directors retreat at this house again.

We recently (November 2009) had the pleasure of renting this gorgeous lake home for our Leadership Team Retreat. Dr. Lynn was very helpful in securing the location, sending pictures, giving directions and then showing us the property upon arrival. We needed space to move around, think, create, and work but also be relaxed...this was the perfect place. We worked hard all day in brainstorming sessions but the openness of the home allowed us to have enough private space for breaks. The theater room allowed a place to view presentations while the game room helped us relax a bit at night. The living room and open kitchen allowed us space to be relaxed as we brainstormed and communicate even while cooking delicious meals. Even though we have space available in Greenville, we wanted the perfect get-a-way to work and play...This home created that perfect balance.

We had such a great stay at this lovely lake house for the Wake Forest vs Clemson football game. It worked perfectly for the game for the 12 of us who have season tickets together and the couple of student kids who joined in for meals and fun. The house is so spacious and laid out so well for friends and families to share. It was cold and rainy but we hardly noticed! We tailgated at the house and then drove the back way that Dr. Jim showed us and missed all the usual game day traffic both ways. There is so much to do IN the house that the weather just encouraged us to enjoy it. The pinball machines and the theater room were wonderful. We saw several more games in the comfort of its recliners. The kitchen is so well equipted. We love to cook and everything was right there. The outdoor grill got put to good use as well. Thank you so much for a wonderful long weekend. Kirk and Wendy Shockley

We came from a beach community from Jacksonville Fl.. We were looking for a quiet getting away with all the amenity of home. We found this place on line and it was big enough for our family and affordable and decided to take a chance. When we got there we were amazed of the breath taking views of the Lake. The House was set on a cove by the Lake, the water temperature was prefect for any type of activity. The landscape and house was immaculate. The bottom floor had a Billiard’s room with a skeet board, pool table and a nine ball table they had 5 refurbished pinball machines and a ten seated theatre room. At our surprise the Ski boat and Jet ski’s that were on the premises where available for rent. The kids were having a blast !! At the same time we were able to have tranquility with the surroundings while we lounge around on the patio’s . If you like to run we found some trails and awesome roads to run thru the surrounding communities. The owners made our stay very comfortable any question we had they had a answer for i.e. Restaurants places to see even told us about this organic fresh market place. The family had a great stay at this residents and I would recommend it to anyone.
