We stayed here over Christmas and were really disappointed with the condition of the property particularly given the price. If this place were about 50% cheaper, maybe it would be a fair deal, but it is badly in need of renovation and is not a comfortable place to sleep as it currently stands. This cabin feels as though the owners have put as little money into it as possible; nearly everything is very old, especially the kitchen, and although there are some signs of fixing things that have worn out (new couches, and the Trex deck is clearly newer), mostly this place seems to be a combination of whatever was there when the place was built in the 1960s and cast offs that a thrift store wouldn't even take (lamps without bases, not a single sharp knife in the kitchen or for that matter a can opener). Dark wood paneling throughout and very poor lighting make this a dreary place to stay. Hope you like the temperature either freezing or suffocatingly hot, because there is no way to come close to a comfortable temperature throughout the cabin with the ancient heating system in place. Oh, and there is no insulation between the living area above and the sleeping area below - you will hear every word spoken, every footstep, every little noise if you go to bed before everybody else in your party. Although sheets and towels are provided, bring your own; the pillowcases barely fit some of the pillows. Oh, bring your own mattresses, too - the ones on these beds were probably worn out 15 years ago and offer no meaningful support. The front door uses an interior lock that doesn't actually lock (the "push the knob to lock from the inside", but it doesn't stay locked) so don't leave anything valuable on the premises while you're out skiing at Homewood (the only highlight of the place, since it is actually quite close by). There really is too much wrong with this cabin to justify renting it when there are so many other options. I feel scammed to be honest, but there is nothing technically incorrect about the description provided - it's just that it artfully avoids discussing the condition of the house (a poor, decaying rental) and focuses on things that are pretty much true of any house in Lake Tahoe - quiet and relaxing. Avoid at all costs.

My family & I enjoy a Tahoe vacation every year in Feb. We rented this home last year in 2010 & must say it was the best location & vacation we had in years!! The house is comfortable & warm. We enjoyed playing games, being outside in the snow & driving to the local ski & snow parks for the day. This is definately the place we will be looking forward to renting every year! Thanks again Mr Koblick!!
