We are the second house on Terra Cotta from Scenic Gulf Drive. Consider this proximity to the gulf and great gulf views and the luxuriousness of the house when comparing us to other properties.
Welcome to "The Handpainted Villa", a beautiful three story house with gulf views offered by a creative artist. You can see and hear the waves from our home. You do not need a golf cart or car to go to the beach because we are only yards away. We are a five minute walk with kids to the beach.
Decorated cottage-style, this delightful home has everything to make your vacation unforgettably enjoyable and restful with a private space for everyone. Handpainted furniture with an aged, carefree look invites you into each spacious room. Murals of seascapes throughout create a relaxing atmosphere.
Great gulf views of the emerald waters from four balconies, across the street from the white sugar beaches (about 50 yards) accessed through private gate. Lush landscaping surrounds this villa. There are over 3600 square feet of living space and 1100 square feet of patio and balconies. The entire first floor is devoted to kids with a bunkroom and playroom.
Ideal for three families, sleeps 14 (2 kings, 1 queen, three bunk sets--two twin/full, one twin/twin; a bed for everyone--no sofa beds needed!
The ground level has a huge bunk room that includes 2 full beds, 1 twin bed, 3 twin bunks with mini-kitchen, full bath, and covered patio. It also has a separate spacious playroom for young children. Second level has a large bedroom with queen, private screened balcony, and gulf view. A large great room combines well-equipped kitchen, dining (with enough seating for everyone at dinner tables), and living room. A terrific gulf view from inside and from a screened balcony large enough for entertaining. Full bath off hallway.
Third level has a spacious master with king, gas fireplace, and large screened private balcony with fabulous gulf view. Luxurious bathroom with jetted tub, separate shower, and separate door to balcony. The second master bedroom has king, private bath, and private screened balcony with gulf view. Third level also has a spacious laundry room. Every bedroom has TV. Bunkroom and living room have 32" TV's with DVD/VCR combination. Outside shower, beach toys, three two-seater wagons, and beach chairs and umbrellas are available.
Access to internet by cable broadband is provided.
Tucked away just off the winding beachfront drive known as "old scenic ninety-eight", neighbors at Terra Cotta Terrace enjoy a heated pool, clubhouse, beach volleyball, and tennis courts for the exclusive use of this upscale community. Perched on a high bluff for great gulf views from all five balconies is this home waiting for your vacation use.
Very convenient to supermarkets, shopping, and restaurants, The Handpainted Villa is one and a half miles from the new Destin Commons shopping complex, which features movie theaters with stadium seating, upscale stores, and restaurants. Three miles in the opposite direction is the Silver Sands outlet mall, which features one hundred and four interesting stores. If you want to get out of the traffic and relax on a quiet, uncrowded beach with beautiful surroundings, The Handpainted Villa awaits you.
Rental policies:
We do not rent to student groups without at least two parents or teachers as chaperones staying in the house the entire duration of the reservation.
$500 reservation deposit due within ten days of reservation. Balance, including remainder of rent, 10% tax, and $300 refundable damage deposit, due at least thirty days before arrival. $300 damage deposit will be returned within 30 days of departure if no damage.
Should you cancel at least 30 days before scheduled arrival, we will refund your reservation deposit within 30 days of notice. If you cancel less than 30 days before scheduled arrival, we will return your payment if we can rent that week. If we cannot rent for the week you cancelled, we will give you credit toward any other week of your choosing that is available this year or next.
Upon receipt of deposit, short term rental agreement showing receipt of money will be sent. Upon receipt of balance, informational sheet including access to property key will be sent.
Hurricane refund policy: if a hurricane warning for Destin is issued during a stay and the renter chooses to leave, we will send within thirty days a prorated refund determined by number of remaining nights in the stay. If just prior to arrival a hurricane warning for Destin is issued, we will send a full refund within thirty days.

We chose this property because we enjoy vacationing in Destin. We found this property to be in the best part of Destin: across the street from the beach and minutes away from restaurants, shopping, and Destin's many other amenities.
