The large yard is beautifully landscaped with a fire pit. The back porch/car port area, complete with table and chairs, has a view of Mount Shasta. Parking is available for 2 to 3 vehicles.
The ski resort is only 11 miles from the cottage. Nearby lakes include Castle, Siskiyou, and McCloud. Hiking trails abound and there are bike rentals nearby. Or, you can choose to just relax and enjoy the slower pace of a truly unique little town.

Why the Owner Chose Mount Shasta
We are retired but are still very active. Owning this property puts us a short distance from some of the favorite hiking places we have enjoyed over the years. In addition, we can walk to all the great eateries and quaint shops on the main street of Mount Shasta. When we are not hiking or shopping, we can just relax by reading a book or watching TV or a movie.
The Unique Benefits at this House
I enjoy being in the heart of Mt. Shasta, but still feel your out away from the rat race. I love all the nice restaurants and shops. Just sitting on the porch reading a book, watching the train go by. It is just one of the most relaxing places on earth. I love going to Lake McCloud and Siskiyou.

My husband and I moved to the north state over 20 years ago to enjoy the outdoor activities it provides. Our main home is in Redding but we have spent many a happy hour hiking and skiing in the Mount Shasta area. For several years we have dreamed of having a little getaway but never found anything that felt “right”; that is UNTIL we first saw this cottage. The cute little house had character, was tucked away in a seldom-traveled cul de sac , and was within walking distance to the main street in Mount Shasta. We quickly bought the property and now would love to share it with others.

Great Winter Hideaway

We had a great experience staying at Charlene's home at Mt.Shasta for a week. I say "home" because it truly was, to my family-2girls n r lab. A cozy home just right for us with snow right in the backyard if we did not want to drive 25mins to the snow park or 15mins to any road-side sledding area. Charlene's attention to detail with the decor and the general cozyness-very comfortable beds and bedding, great fireplace and general heating and well stocked kitchen, was very much appreciated after long days of rolling in the snow! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us we will definitely return to spend many a winter here!!!!

More than we expected and a great value. Charlene's cottage is sparkling clean, has all the amenities, and is cozy and comfortable. Very nicely decorated, comfortable furniture and an absolutely gorgeous yard. Could not have asked for more and are anxious to return.

We stayed here on a trip to the northwest. It has the feel of a vintage cottage but it has been completely updated. It is very comfortable - both inside and out with a nice backyard and patio. The property is well maintained and appointed. We decided to stay here on the way back as well.

I've already recommended this property to some friends. This is an adorable cottage, very comfortable for 1-4, situated in a neighborhood close to downtown. The home has undergone a remodel so everything is new and nicely appointed. Would stay here again.

My family two adults and two kids 6 and 8 enjoyed our 6 night stay at this central Mt Shasta location. First time I have used VRBO and I prefer it over a hotel. The landscape is beautiful as well as the interior decor of the Cottage. We had all the amenities we could need. It was a great place to come back to after a day of sightseeing. We look forward to returning.

My family enjoyed our stay at The Cottage in Mt Shasta - the house was very comfortable, has been nicely updated & has a beautiful landscaped garden. The home is an easy walk or bike to town and was a perfect place to spend the 4th of July! Thank you for a fun vacation!
