Relax and enjoy the view from one of Drummond Island's newest homes. Overlooking Detour Passage, you will enjoy nature at its best. Watch the deer when they come down to the waterfront for a drink. With binoculars you might get a good look at Loon, Mink, Humming Birds, and maybe even Eagles. Great Lake freighters pass by daily, and Cruise Ships have been known to use the passage as well.
A private boat slip is included in your rental, so bring the boat! Minutes from Lake Huron, the passage features the Detour Reef Lighthouse. Built in the late 1840's, it is well preserved and a sight to remember. Excellent fishing is at your front door and thousands of acres of state land are available for hunting and hiking. The "Retreat" offers three levels of living space with three private decks. For the kids (or kids at heart) there is Foosball and Air Hockey in the lower level. In the evening, enjoy a private campfire on the beach in one of the fire pits, you bring the marshmallows!
Drummond Island is a year round home for many with shopping, restaurants, two golf courses, landing strip, grocery store, and more. |
