We needed a weekend away from work and we found a relaxing environment here. This home was large, comforable and clean. We loved the style of the home and the large rooms. The wood stove kept us nice and warm. Kitchen was great! Everything we needed was there including all utencils, plates, glasses and pots-n-pans. We thought we had run out of paper towels but found plenty more in the kitchen cabinets along with tp and cleaning supplies. Loved the bathrooms and large showers. Will recommend to anyone and already have to our friends from Edmonton here on business that will be staying there to get away like we did. Thanks for providing such a wonderful home!!

This property was a great fit for our family of six. There was plenty of space; we especially liked the good sized great rooms on both main floor and upstairs. Linens, supplies and other amenities in good supply and working order; it’s obvious this owner is invested in making this a good vacation experience. Property is kept in natural condition with a huge deck, pines and willow are all around and add to the feeling of “being at the beach”. Good price, reliable experience, great location to Cannon Beach.

Good physical structure but "the basics" need more attention!

Let's start with the positives: This is a newer house so physically, everything was very good and even excellent, i.e. kitchen, bathrooms, layout, and design. Also, the price for our stay was very reasonable but as the saying goes you get what you pay for! Now to the improvements/concerns: 1) On the listing it says that is sleeps 6 (1 master w/ a Queen, 2 twins, and a pullout). The pullout was not made up and after scouring the house we could not find any linens for the pullout, so we ended up using a few sheets/blankets from one of the twins as a makeshift solution for the pullout. 2) Part of our vacation plan going to the beach was to BBQ each night we were there. The listing shows a BBQ however we could not find one on site and later learned that previous renters had left the BBQ out in the rain and it was ruined. Thus, we ended up having to buy our own BBQ as a solution, not a major thing but still an inconvenience and expense, given we thought one came with the property. 3) Part of the cost is a $75 cleaning fee, but the house was far from clean when we arrived! We found a lot of spiders and spider webs, a lot of dead flies and bugs in the windows, and the grounds outside the house are fairly overgrown which probably has something to do with the spiders/bugs inside. Bottom line, whoever is cleaning the property needs to do a better job! 4) Finally, we found there to be just a lack of overall supplies. We rented the home b/c we hadn't planned on going camping, however, when it came to the basics like paper towels, toilet paper, utensils/plates/glasses, and even hand soap in the bathrooms, all were either non existent or significantly lacking! Overall, the structure, price, and location of this property are good to even excellent. That said the owners could drastically improve a customer's experience by paying just a little more attention to these basic details so that their next renters don't have to spend a significant amount of extra $$$ and time acquiring those items that were either advertise or should have naturally come with the property.
Owner response:Thank you for your feedback. We will start monitoring our property after each occupancy. So far we seem to have been very fportunate since we have only heard favorable reports. JHK
