This is a ten acre property nestled in the foothills of Yosemite bordered by a 1300 acre timber preserve. It has two homes on it, a three bedroom (currently occupied year-round)and this cabin that sit approximately 600 feet apart. It has a natural spring and numerous mature ponderosa pine, oak (several varieties) and cedar trees. Wild berries grow here seasonally near the spring runoff and seasonal creek.
It's not unusual to see a deer or several on the property (even does with their fawns) or a group of wild turkeys with their chicks grazing the fence line. You may just end up spending all of your time here catching up on reading, artwork, photography or even writing that novel you've always wanted to; the scenery and quiet are inspirational.

Year Purchased: 2007
We(my husband and I) purchased this property as a retirement location. With its additional main house we thought it would be a perfect place to relax and enjoy our time. The air here is an important factor as we are from Southern California and can really appreciate the good clean air this location has to offer. We are horse enthusiasts and hoped to find some nice trails here in Mariposa, not to mention the good neighbors.
Why the Owner Chose Mariposa
This cabin was originally built to accommodate the former owner while they built their larger home on the east end of the property. We sought out a property with a nice location for friends and family to enjoy their privacy while visiting us here. This cabin has the perfect setting with a huge old oak tree right out the front door and a small meadow where the seasonal creek pools before it runs any further. It never really occurs to us that it is only a one bedroom because there is so much else about this property to enjoy.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
We bring our dogs with us when we come and they have a wonderful time exploring the property and chasing the butterflies during the butterfly season. We love to barbecue outside while enjoying a glass of wine and taking in the scenery even after dark as the stars are numerous. Sleeping here is so peaceful, we are never ready to go home!
