If you dream of experiencing an artistic, slightly vintage California vibe…. If you’d like to enjoy an organic coffee on the covered back porch overlooking a yard full of lemon trees and roses, or a glass of California white on the front porch watching familiar actors jog by, then this is the rental for you!
You might not suit our upbeat, artistic home if you are a die hard fan of serious granite bathrooms, minimalist modern design and neutral colors. But! if you like a bit of retro and bohemianism thrown in with your clean linens, a fully equipped kitchen with baker’s stove and high speed wireless internet then come on over!
STYLE : The house is all one level and ideal for seniors or kids. We'll consider house trained pets. This is a safe, classy yet relaxed neighborhood.
AMENITIES: You can expect to find everything you have at home. Wi-Fi, Premium satellite DIRECT TV with TIVO recording service. DVD player with many up to the minute DVDS. Big fridge, microwave, in house clothes washer and dryer, hairdryer, ironing board, easy and free street parking….. There’s a printer and scanner in the home office for emergency printing situations (forgot your boarding pass, anyone?) and a land line with international calling plan attached for emergency phone calls.
SPECIAL OFFER : This is our full time home, therefore expect to find it like a friend's very clean vacated place. Some of our personal effects will be here. Think of it as more of a stay with friends where the friends are gone! To enhance the homey vibe we offer you....
BREAKFAST: We will provide basic breakfast materials to welcome you -- fresh coffee beans, milk (real or soy), cereal, fresh berries and toast!
BEDS: In our opinion, this house is great for a romantic couple or for 3 people, but if you're used to multiple room mates you can fit more in....
The master bedroom has a queen bed which sleeps two. The spare bedroom has a comfortable permanently extended queen sofa bed with tempurpedic overlay which sleeps one very comfortably. It can handle a couple. You could squeeze five people in the house if you also use the bedroll on the floor in room two. One/two people costs $150 per night, three is $175, four/five is $200 per night.
If you wish to stay longer than ten days we'll negotiate a discount with you at time of reservation.
We have a guest house in the back which is occupied 4-5 days per month by a globe trotting commercials director. A lovely guy, with lots of LA tips if you see him -- but he doesn't use the main house at all.
THE AREA: As for the area --- We're situated on the gentle slopes before the Hills get steep. Great view from the front porch. Thai town, with great food and great (genuine!) massage is a few minutes below the house on Hollywood Blvd. The house is perfectly situated in a quiet zone – you can easily walk to bus stops if you need, but you still get that green, lush vibe missing in many LA areas. Even if you didn’t rent a car you could still reach the following with great ease --- supermarket and shops 3 minutes walk --- Los Feliz Village (like an old fashioned US Main Street for a younger crowd) – fifteen minutes walk ---- all the mainstream attractions of Hollywood Blvd, fifteen minutes walk.
It’s just ten minutes over the hill by car or taxi to Universal or Warner’s. One mile to the Hollywood Bowl. 25 minutes on the freeway will get you down to the beach. Strike out twenty minutes down through West Hollywood to the sleek attractions of Beverly Hills.
Or just lounge around at home, listen to the fountain trickle in the yard and enjoy free organic lemons from the tree!
If you’re serious about reserving I will answer many more questions for you. The house will be professionally cleaned prior to your arrival and after your departure.

Why the Owner Chose Hollywood
This is the perfect spot to live in LA whether as a professional or a visitor. I bought this house after much thought because Hollywood Hills East is a charming, characterful, leafy young family neighborhood which is located right in the center of the action! You can reach all film studios, The Hollywood Bowl, hiking, restaurants and shopping within minutes. Yes when you're at home, you're totally relaxed with no hectic urban vibe. Six years on my property has kept its value and I know why!
The Unique Benefits of this House
Character, charm, an artistic, bohemian vibe mixed with modern amenities like high speed DSL, premium DIRECTV, and baker's stove. Rare, leafy, large yard and outside 'living room' overlooking a trickling pond surrounded by roses and lemon trees. Inside and outside dining tables, plus a lunch table under the trees. If you like spotting film and TV stars there are five famous ones on this street alone.... Enjoy our collection of up to the minute free DVD screeners from the Academy. Walk down to Franklin Village shops and bars in 2 minutes (that's really hard to find in LA!) Walk up into Griffith Park in five minutes and see where James rebelled without a cause... And.....breakfast!
