This lovely OCEANFRONT condo offers three spacious bedrooms and two full baths, with the master situated so that you can see the ocean (fall asleep seeing moonlight reflected on the water and wake up to gorgeous sunrise, dolphin sightings and even an occasional right whale!) Large living room, dining area, fun, fully-equipped kitchen, laundry area with washer and dryer, and a huge glassed-in oceanfront porch. This unit is a third-floor walk-up (no elevators) and is on the top floor. We have owned this unit for nearly five years and have only used it for ourselves and our family. Since we live and work in Jacksonville, this has been our weekend home. It has been lovingly decorated in beach-bright colors and decor, and all of the bedding and draperies have been custom made. The master features a king bed, walk-in closet and private bath; one of the front bedrooms has a king bed and pocket door leading into the hall bath. The third bedroom has two twin beds and is great for kids. The living room sofa also pulls out to make a queen bed. NOTE: TWO-WEEK MINIMUM RENTAL according to our condo's by-laws!
The kitchen includes an electric range with glass cooktop, self-cleaning oven/convection oven, built-in microwave, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, toaster oven, and many small appliances (ie, mixer, blender, etc). There are plenty of dishes, glasses, table linens, and even dry goods (flour, sugar, salt, seasonings, brownie mixes and the like) which guests are welcome to use.
We have grandchildren, so there are a few toys/games available, but most kids just want to play on the beach. There are a few beach chairs and beach umbrellas in the condo, plus tons of beach towels (plenty of linens, actually). Two flat-screen TV's with Comcast HD service are available (one in the living room and one in the master bedroom), and we offer high-speed internet and secure wireless internet service. We do not have "land line" phone service - we use our cell phones.
Vista del Mar is a friendly condominium with both oceanfront and courtyard-facing condominiums. Since the building is only three stories high, the beach retains sunlight until very late in the day (whereas high-rises cause shadows on the beach by early afternoon). Our third floor location provides incredible beach views as well as views of shrimp boats, cruise liners, surfers and the like. Storms are fantastic to watch from the coziness of the enclosed porch! Most units at Vista del Mar are owner-occupied, and the condo by-laws mandate a TWO-WEEK MINIMUM rental period; our rates are priced accordingly.
There are wonderful shops and restaurants within walking/biking/short driving distance, the St. Johns Town Center (fabulous shopping and dining) is a 10-minute drive, and the Mayo clinic is just a few minutes away.

Why the Owner Chose Jacksonville Beach
We loved the decor and the views and proximity to the beach. We have friends who owned a townhouse at Vista del Mar, and after renting properties in other parts of Jacksonville and Neptune Beaches, we knew Jacksonville Beach, particularly South Jax Beach, was where we wanted to be. We bought the condo fully furnished and instantly felt at home. We hope you will, too.
The Unique Benefits at this Condominium
Beachcombing, fishing, walking or bicycling on the beach, looking for sharks' teeth, sleeping late, reading, kayaking. The climate here is very mild, so you can enjoy being on the beach year-round. The glass-enclosed porch allows you to enjoy the beach in air conditioned comfort, but you can also open the telescoping doors and allow the breezes in. The Sea & Sky Air Show (featuring the Blue Angels) is held at Jacksonville Beach every other year, and we can sit on our porch and enjoy the show from the comfort of home. On the 4th of July, we sit on our porch and enjoy the fireworks up and down the beach and watch the major display at the Jax Beach Pier. Storms are amazing to watch, and we get spectacular rainbows over the ocean!

We live in Jacksonville and own/operate a residential real estate firm. Our three sons and their families all live here as well. We purchased this condo in January of 2005, thinking we would use it some, let our kids use it, and rent it out for most of the year. However, we fell totally in love with it and have spent every weekend for the past 4-1/2 years at the condo. Since it is our "second home," we have some personal belongings there, but there is ample closet and drawer space available to make your visit comfortable and easy. We love walking on the beach, looking for shells and sharks' teeth, watching for whales in the spring, and watching for dolphins anytime. Our favorite breakfast spot, Ellen's Kitchen, is three blocks away, and the nearest Publix is about a mile away. South Jax Beach is a very convenient location - we are just one mile north of J Turner Butler Boulevard and AIA; 9A, I-295 and I-95 are only 10 minutes away. You can reach downtown Jacksonville in well under 20 minutes or Jax International Airport in about 30 minutes. Come and see why we love Jacksonville Beach!
