Recently spent 5 nights at the cabin, enjoyed every moment. I highly recommend this cabin and hope to visit again in the spring. Take only your clothes and personal items, everything else is furnished. Thanks to the owners for sharing their beautiful cabin.

The cabin is a quiet retreat in the woods. Very clean and well stocked. The stream in the back yard provides a great backdrop. A great place to get away.

Our family stayed at this cabin with our Chesapeake Bay Retriever over the Christmas holiday and had a wonderful time!! First of all, the Pitts, who own the cabin, could not have been more accommodating - a snow storm had come in before we were to arrive and Fred Pitts actually drove up to the cabin to make sure the roads were passable. The cabin was so clean and comfortable. We are cooks and the kitchen had every appliance and pan you could possibly want. We built a bonfire by the stream, which runs through the back of the property, every night. The linens on the beds were wonderful - toasty warm with comforters. We hiked and found the "secret falls" - gorgeous property - and also the Whiteside Mountain trail - as easy or difficult as you choose - beautiful vistas. We are looking forward to going back in the spring/summer and enjoy wading in the streams and fishing - even though my kids did get in the frigid waters for a polar bear swim. NOT ME! If you want a taste of the mountains in a very comfortable and beautiful setting, I would recommend this cabin hands down.

My wife and I spent wonderful 6 nights at this cozy yet roomy cabin. It Is just minutes from Cashiers and the beautiful drive to Highlands is only 15 minutes along a quite country road with awesome views of Whiteside Mtn. This spot has a lot to offer: attractive rates, BBQ pit, thermostat controlled ceramic log fireplace, internet, creek thru back, wildlife, very quiet and private. We will be back. The owners were very accomodating in scheduling our visit. Highly Recommended.

The Pitts cabin is truly heaven. Not only have they outfitted and furnished it to make you feel as comfortable as home, but they went out of their way to be certain we had everything we needed~ even called to be sure we were happy after the first day. They treated us like friends/ family! We were SO happy that the first day we got home, we set up our next week long visit. The photos are exactly as it is and BETTER. If you want relaxation, a clean, 'homelike' environment with every possible amenity ( I loved having the washer and dryer !), this is the place to come. We loved Cashiers so much that we are looking for our retirement home within miles of the Pitts cabin! We told them to expect us to come each month until we find our own. It's a perfect place to stay !
Owner response:Thanks so much for your comments, Deb. We look forward to your next stay. Heck, we're looking forward to our next stay too. We just can't seem to get enough of the peaceful and refreshing time we spend at the cabin. Good luck with your search. Fred & Jacque

What a wonderfully peaceful retreat! We felt as though we were in the middle of nowhere but town with shopping and great restaurants was just a short drive. The cabin was especially clean and nicely furnished and supplied. I would certainly recommend this property and hope to return myself next year!

We had a delightful visit at this charming cabin. The setting is beautiful, especially the stream. The cabin was very clean, and the kitchen supplies and utensils were wonderful. This is the perfect cabin to "get away from it all" while remaining close enough to Cashiers to enjoy all the amenities in town. We loved it!

The cabin was very comfortable. It is also very beautiful. I really enjoyed the peacefulness of reading by the stream. The Pitts were very accommodating and very thoughtful. I wish that we could live there. I only hope that you will not want to rent the cabin for the week that we would like to return.

We have just returned from spending spring break in Cashiers at the Pitt's cabin. Our family consisted of 4 adults and 2 teenage boys. Normally we do not comment on rental units, as we have found them just adequate. This is a rare exception. The Pitt's cabin is absolutlely wonderful! The location is secluded yet close to all activities, the surrondings are peaceful and with the sound of the stream in the back yard...relaxing. The cabin itself is spacious, CLEAN, kitchen well equipped, beds extremely comfortable, linens and towels of the finest quality. We have never stayed in a cabin as perfect as this. They have a true GEM. When you rent this cabin, which is really more like a home...I guarantee you will not be disappointed. We are returning next year. Absolutely Perfect!! Enjoy

We spent our first anniversary in this beautiful cabin in mid October 2006. It is very clean, private and spacious. The Pitts were very accomadating and helpful. The location of the cabin is convenient to many trails, scenic drives and both towns of Highlands and Cashiers. This is a wonderful getaway.

Beautiful -- spacious, well maintained and well equipped with lovely, quiet surroundings and beautiful creek. My family (daughter, her husband, three teenage children and I) have been spending our Thanksgivings in this area for six years, and this was the best accommodations yet. We look forward to returning.

This is the second time we've stayed in this wonderful home. There is no question in my mind that heaven looks just like this place. The sound of the stream, the rain in the trees, the absolute quiet is truly paradise. The home is well cared for, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Just the right distance from town. A perfect environment for reconnecting with your family. Hummingbirds and chipmunks abound. I could easily live in this house the rest of my life in perfect contentment!

We spent the first week of November at this wonderful cabin (it's really more like a house than a cabin) near Cashiers, NC. What a great week, and it went by way too fast. Absolute peace and quiet with no one to bother you, just the rustling of the wind through the trees and the wonderful sounds coming from a stream from the rear of the property. This is "the mountains" at its finest! Thanks Jacque and Fred for sharing your mountain home with us!

My husband, two children, and I stayed in this charming cabin from August 7 until August 14, 2004. We were extremely comfortable and really enjoyed being somewhat secluded. We grilled every night and enjoyed the fire on a daily basis as well. We enjoyed the steam and trails near the cabin and found the neighbors to be very friendly and helpful. We also really appreciated the proximity to Sliding Rock and many beautiful waterfalls and trails.

My family stayed in this lovely home for 2 weeks in the summer and it was the most memorable vacation of my life. I have been going to the Cashiers area since I was a young child but this was the best ever. Everything about the home lent itself to wonderful, intimate family time and relaxing thoughtful moments. When I win the lottery I'm going to beg the owner to sell me this perfect property so I could live there year round!
