My husband and I were very pleased with the loft! It is in the PERFECT location to be able to walk around downtown (and we did a TON of walking). The only downside (and it's absolutely expected) is the noise. You can hear people's conversations when they are walking on the street. I would suggest if you are a light sleeper to bring ear plugs. The loft itself was great! It was clean and everything was explained (very detailed TV operating instructions). They "warned" us about the water in downtown Savannah and what we should do to try to keep stains from forming (wiping down the shower is not a big deal). We opted to eat out all the time, but if we were going to be there (and we hope to stay here again) we will be taking full advantage of the kitchen. There are MANY flyers in the loft regarding things to do. We completely enjoyed the Old Towne Trolley day tour and the Haunted Pub walking tour (EXCELLENT!!!!). We ate breakfast at Goosefeathers every morning (it's right next door). We did not go out to Tybee (because we were able to get a GREAT parking space in front of the loft). We were able to get a parking pass from the Visitor's Center, so we parked on the street Thur/Fri for $12 then it was free parking after 5:00 and Sat/Sun. We enjoyed Six Pence Irish Pub, Kevin Barry's Irish Pub (they had GREAT live music), we went rooftop at the Bohemian (only for drinks - they have a tapas menu), Tubby's, Fiddler's....we did not have a bad experience at all! We did take a Ghost Trolley tour - and it was OK. A bit more theatrical as opposed to ghost story, but it was decent. We would absolutely recommend the loft (the owners are easy to get in touch with) and we are looking forward to our next stay!!!

This was our first time using a vacation rental and we thought it was an excellent value. The listing was very accurate and the loft was actually even more spacious than we expected. It was very clean and well-maintained and had everything we could need. We did a run to the grocery store (we took the shuttle, but it's only about a twenty minute walk) and were well-stocked for our week. Although having Goose Feathers so close was a temptation we gave into more than once! The location is great. We were close to everything in the Historic District so we could stop in frequently when we were tired from shopping or sightseeing. The great location did have some downfalls, as it was very loud some nights. The owners and reviews had all left us prepared for this, so we had earplugs, but some nights were worse than others (Thursday is a big party night in this city). In the end, we adapted and all was fine. A comfy bed and lazy vacation schedule helps! The big, orange couch in the living room is amazing. We both wanted to bring it home and it was perfect for relaxing with a magazine or watching TV. We would definitely recommend this rental to others, especially if you want a very central home base for your Savannah vacation.

We stayed in this loft for the St. Patrick's Day week and it did not disappoint! The location is perfect and very close walking distance to everything. The loft was extremely clean when we arrived - even all the dishes were spotless! Everything worked properly and the washer and dryer were very handy allowing us to pack light and leave without bagging up dirty close. The owners were very helpful throughout the entire arrangements. If you stay in Savannah we would definitely encourage you to book this loft! Parking is a challenge so we suggest you go to the visitor center and purchase parking passes for garages.

I can't say enough about this property. It is every bit as nice as the pictures depict, and the location is ideal. We only got the car out of the parking garage, (just a couple of blocks away) to drive to Tybee, the rest of the time we walked everywhere, as the loft is very centrally located. We didn't cook while we were there, but the kitchen is very modern, and had everything one would need if they were inclined to cook. The bed was very comfortable, and while we could hear people on the streets (as forewarned), it really wasn't bad. I think my only suggestion would be perhaps another set of keys to make the coming and going of three adults just a little easier.

I am recommending Savannah and the loft to all my Canadian friends. Everything about the loft was as described. The owners were helpful with info pertaining to the loft and access. The loft is an ideal location for getting to participate in city life. The dot transportation was ideal and even had a stop within two blocks of the supermarket. We walked all the squares, attended the Philharmonic, Savannah Theatre, the Book Festival, the Women's Show and met lots of local folk. Grits and jumbo shrimp at 700 Drayton on Valentine's Day was a great experience. We have many special memories of our time in this beautiful city! Thank you Alice.

We had a great time for the month of January 2012 staying in this loft. It is spacious (it's bigger in person than the pictures let on), and was well appointed and furnished, and very clean and comfortable. The giant orange couch is the best. It's about as close the everything as you can get in Savannah, at the corner of Broughton and Barnard, so you can easily walk a few blocks east the river front and a few blocks west to Forsythe park. There's a Kroger within walking distance, and Publix is a short drive away. There are tons of restaurants right nearby. You can find just about any type of food within a short walk. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but we were able to get a pass from the city that let us park on the street overnight for a small fee - I think it was about $40 for the month. It can get a bit noisy at night, especially on the weekends, but we got used to it pretty quickly. The building itself was very quiet - we only heard our neighbors on Super Bowl Sunday - our last day in the loft.

After reading all the other reviews there's not much more I can add except to reiterate what has already been said. An amazing loft, beautifully restored and very tastefully decorated. The owners have thought of everything you might need for your stay and basically laid it out for you including plenty of towels , maps, menus and a Dream Kitchen to cook in. Best location... you get the buzz of staying in historic Savannah and you're close to everything. I would highly recommend this place.... book it and I assure you, you will be as pleased as we were. Thank you again for allowing us to enjoy your home - we will definitely come back just to stay here again.

Except for the locals late night noise, this place is fabulous for staying in Savannah! Right upstairs from an excellent coffee house and a couple of very interesting merchants selling soaps and salts, this loft is right in the middle of it all. Ellis Square and the City Market are a block away, and Paula Deen's place is two short blocks away. From Ellis Square you can get a tour bus, a free city bus called "DOT", a underground parking garage, and the entrance to the City Market. Just beyond Ellis, continuing North, it's a short walk to River Street with good food, interesting bars, river boat cruises, all kinds of shopping choices. South takes you through a half dozen squares, and Forsyth Park - still an easy walk, not even a mile. Savannah is a walk-able city. Next time we will fly instead of driving, parking can be a hassle. The Visitor's center sells parking passes, two days is $14 and you can park on the street or in city garages without having to worry about feeding the meter every two hours at $1 an hour. The loft is open, roomy, with a very nice kitchen. Two bathrooms, closet space, lots of cabinets, comfy bed, hardwood floors, exposed brick walls. Only one floor, but there is an elevator if you want to use it. Minor down-side to being in the city - the windows allow any noises above conversation level right into the room. Garbage trucks come through the alley early morning, young people come out of the square being - well - young people after a few drinks. Someone will remind them that people are trying to sleep, but by then I was wondering if sleep would return to us. All that walking ensured that we would go back to sleep, but it's an annoyance - part of city life. On the whole, we talked about coming back to Savannah, and when we do, we will be staying at this loft. That is my endorsement - the price is fair, the space is inviting and open and comfortable. WiFi has an easy to remember password, and the appliances are top of the line. Almost forgot: the oversized shower has a shower head on both sides for time saving showering with that special someone.

This loft is absolutely beautiful, is right in the heart of Historic Savannah, and just a short walk away from the City Market. If you go to Savannah and you don't stay at a loft like this, you really are not getting the full effect of what Savannah offers. With renting a loft, you feel like a member of the community...on top of this, it is in a safe location where you feel comfortable walking no matter what time of night it is. So, down to the details. Two elegant bathrooms as described Beautiful kitchen - stainless steel appliances - everything is very well kept The pictures for the property match it perfectly Would recommend this to anyone who visits Savannah A word of warning about Savannah restaurants: Olde Pink House - This is a tourist place and despite being #1 on certain websites, it was the absolute worst restaurant we visited on the trip. The pasta had no taste and the crabbed stuffed fish was hardly anything to brag out. I thought I'd take my wife to an expensive delicious dinner - please DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME with OLDE PINK HOUSE - I'll save you $100 with this advise for your trip! Lady & Sons - Tourist trap - Paula Dean bought a restaurant, slapped her name on it and it's not very good. Tourist Restaurants in general - most of the places on River Street are tourist restaurants and are not very good. Ask the locals and they will tell you what is good in town. THE BEST RESTAURANTS Vinnie Van Go Goghs (or something like that) - amazing pizza The Crab Shack (Tybee Island) J Christophers (Breakfast) Take a drive to Bluffton, SC and visit The Cottage - absolutely amazing and not too far away! Stuff You Have to Do: Visit the Israeli Temple (beautiful architecture and nice tour) Roundhouse Railroad Museum Rent Bikes on Tybee Island and RIDE! Walk the Old Historical Houses in Bluffton, SC This is the absolute perfect trip for a couple who enjoys relaxing. We went during November and this is the time to go during off season! Again - get a loft when you go. It's the best way to get the total effect of Savannah!

My husband and I rented the loft for six nights while visiting Savannah to attend a cross country running event. We had originally booked a room at the Inn on Ellis Square - but canceled that booking when we found this loft (price of the loft was comparable to a hotel room in the historic district). We really can't say enough about the loft. It was equipped with everything we needed to make our stay perfect and the location was literally in the middle of everything (less than 30 second walk from Ellis Square). We didn't have a car wanted to pick up some groceries. Thanks to Alice's instructions, we easily found the Kroeger by taking the free downtown shuttle to the southern most stop and then walking east about one block (we took the shuttle back home as well). If you do some shopping at Kroeger and don't have a discount/members card, one is provided in the loft. The loft was walking distance to everything in the historic district and no matter how far we wandered on foot, it never felt like you were too far away from home. We had two netbooks with us and used the internet connection in the loft daily to make plans with our friends and decide what tourist attractions to visit. Due to the loft's very central and "happening" location, there is a fair amount of noise outside on the weekend. However this issue was easily addressed with earplugs (I'm an extremely light sleeper and slept like a baby). Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would recommend this loft to anyone. We hope to return to Savannah at some point in the future and this loft will be our #1 choice when it comes to finding a place to stay.

Location - perfect! Goosefeathers for a morning latte, then a run through the many neighborhood parks turning around at the lovely fountain at Forsyth Park, lunch at Lady and Sons or Vic's on the River, shopped at Trunk 13 -- all right out our doorstep. We visited Savannah in the August heat and the loft was a kind retreat, cool and yet bright with windows everywhere. We golfed at The Club at Savannah and walked the pier at Tybee Island, even drove for the day to Charleston to shop and indulge in the coconut cake at Peninsula. Yet, we always returned to the loft for the quiet, spacious, well equipped accommodations. The leather couch, flat screen tv, two spacious, tile bathrooms and a kitchen to die for -- we spent 3 of our 4 nights "in" because it just felt right. Ssssssh...I'm thinking I shouldn't even write this because someone will take my next vacation to Savannah!! :) Only negative -- beware of parking!

The loft conversion has been tastefully done, with a fully equipped modern kitchen and seperate showers meaning 2 adult couples could comfortably share the space. There is a lift to floor 2 for those with mobility issues and visitors could not be closer to the art, restuarants and live music of this vibrant 'walkable' city. I fully intend to visit again.

The loft was in the perfect location. We were very close to everything. We were able to walk to all of the popular locations including River Street. Some of our favorite spots were the Goosefeathers Bakery on Barnard Street, Wild Wing Cafe' in the courtyard market area, Cilantro's on Bay Street and Tubby's on River Street. A car is not necessary, but if you do decide to drive, the meters and local parking garages are easily accessible. The closest parking garage is the Whitaker Street garage. When you come out of the elevator, you are approximately one block from the loft. You can save on parking by purchasing the two-day visitor parking pass from the Visitor Center on M. L. King Ave. The loft was also very clean and well-maintained. The accomodations were very relaxing and cozy. If you are looking for the perfect place to stay, this is it. You will not be disappointed. Thanks Alice for everything!! .

This Savannah loft condo is in a perfect location -- close to every possible attraction downtown and near the Savannah College of Art and Design. It was very tastefully decorated in a sun-filled, open style (although some final touches appeared to be still in the works). It is ideal for a cook and his/her guests: wonderful counter space, lots of cookware and dishes. Our only tiny complaints were a lack of parking and that we were not advised that the clothes dryer could not deal with a full load of laundry -- we ended trekking wet clothes to the laundry. A note to the wise would have saved us the trip.
Owner response: We apreciate all the kind comments and are glad our guests continue to enjoy our central location and modern style decor. As we indicate in our online details, we do not have dedicated parking, since we are right downtown. Most of our guests use one of the nearby parking garages (half a block or two blocks away) and do not have a problem. We did not realize that the clothes dryer was not working properly and it has now been repaired - our apologies for that. We have also just had the loft painted throughout, so it should now be in perfect condition.

The loft was perfect, great location close to everything we wanted to do the week of St. Patrick’s Day. City Market was just a block away were we able to meet up with friends for drinks or just get something to eat. Belford’s was great, they have best crab cakes!! I recommend anyone who visits Savannah needs to eat there. There was live music playing at City Market which was great, this gave us the opportunity walk over, sit at square and enjoy the music. Tybee Island was only a 20 to 30 minute drive for downtown Savannah. I would recommend you visit The Crab Shack and AJ’s dockside restaurant. It faces the Back River it has a great view. The loft had everything you needed, and it was gorgoues. The pictures do not do it justice, when we walked in I was truly surprise on how spacious it was. We had friends come over and they were totally surprise too. To think a treasure like this is hidden in this old city was unbelievable. My boyfriend was impressed with the way the brick walls were exposed and the great views we had of the city from the loft. The next time we visit Savannah we will be sure to stay here again. The owners did give us some great advice about parking, the permit passes were a great investment. Thank you again!!!!

My husband and I stayed at the loft for three days in March, the week before St. Patricks Day. The city was bustling and the location of the loft is so prime, if it wasn't for a side trip to the Crab Shack at Tybee Island, we would not have driven anywhere. Ellis Square, the City Market and River Street are walking distance. While in Savannah its hard to say whether we had a better time out enjoying the sites or the amenities at the loft. We spent a lot of time entertaining a few friends also in visiting the city. They couldn't get over how beautiful the place was. I can't say enough good things about this rental. We look forward to going back next year.

This was our first visit to Savannah and the first time we ever stayed anywhere other than a hotel. The bar has been set high for future travels, because both of us agree that we would never do it any other way now that we have had such a great experience. This loft is gorgeous, and is located perfectly in the heart of the Historic District. After only a few days, we began to feel like we lived there rather than just 'doing the tourist thing'. The loft itself was exactly how it is photographed. Everything was clean and spacious, and included everything we needed to feel right at home. The owners were very helpful and prompt with all correspondence. Both of us are "foodies" and this loft is located within steps of some of our favourite eating places while we were there. Make sure you try The Blue Moon, Mrs. Wilkes, Jazz'd (right across the street), Goosefeathers Bakery (right next door), and all the cuisine and entertainment along River Street (approx. 3 blocks away from your doorstep). We would both highly recommend this space to anyone wanting the best experience of Savannah and we look forward to coming back sometime in the future.

We love to tour new places on foot. We walked everywhere in the historic district and along the river. The location of this loft is great for accessing everything very easily including dining, shopping, attractions, etc. Wonderful cafe right next door for breakfast, coffee and lunch. Live music in the evenings only a block away...We even watched a parade from our window on Saturday morning. It was fun being in the center of everything. The only thing we used our car for was a trip to the grocery store; but that's not even required as instructions are provided for catching a bus to the grocery. We parked in a nearby ramp; easy and not very expensive. Loft is furnished with everything you need for preparing meals. Big windows for lots of light. Comfy sofa and great entertainment center for relaxing in the evening. Clean and attractive space. Only downside is urban traffic noise. Bar crowd gets out late and was a bit of a disturbance on the weekend. If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs. Otherwise, just bring comfy shoes and enjoy the convenience of historic Savannah at your doorstep!

The loft in Savannah was perfect for our three day stay. It is within walking distance to everything we wanted to see. it is only a few blocks from River Street where there are many restaurants that have great happy hours. We were lucky enough to get a parking spot on the street in front of the loft where the car stayed for the whole time. The loft was very spacious and spotlessly clean. We especially loved the very comfortable leather sofa.I would definitely recommend it

We were in Savannah on vacation prior to attending a conference at the Westin in town. Photos on the website do not do this loft apartment justice; it is more spacious and comfortable than the pictures indicate. We held a dinner party for 10 colleagues on the eve of the conference and there was plenty of room for our guests. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and had enough dishes to accomodate the 10 person gathering (with some washing between courses). The kitchen is laid out for "team cooking" and entertaining. The location within the historic district is a big plus (and a little minus). The loft is far enough away from the River Street madness (River Street is "tourist central") so that you enjoy a little city bustle without being overloaded. That said, however,Savannah is a party town and when the bars let out in the early morning hours it was a little raucous outside on the street. The owners provide ear plugs for sleeping for those sensitive to noise. The breakfast and lunch place next door was very convenient for grabbing coffee and a quick bite before starting the day. Savannah is a walkable city and the loft was a great launch point. You will not be disappointed.
Owner response:We are glad that our guests continue to enjoy our loft as much as we do ourselves and we appreciate all the courteous reviews.
