Third Time's a Charm
Third Time's a Charm
Our third year at this wonderful retreat cottage. Privacy, beautiful views, close proximity to fishing, the beach, the islands, great restaurants.......what more could you ask for? Let's see, a lobster feast from Manomet Seafood, fried clams at Cabby Shack, seafood platter at Lobster Hut, grilled lobster stuffed haddock at the cottage, and an incredible lobster roll at Marshland, just down the street. Great food..check! Fishing on the canal, nothing to show for it except relaxation..check! Two bicycle trips, a 14 miler along the canal and a thirty-miler via the ferry to the Vineyard, exercise..check! Three days with the twin grandchildren and Mom and Dad, family time..check! If you are looking for a perfect week in a cozy, clean, make yourself at home ocean front cottage, this is it....Check it out!

Wonderful, relaxing vacation
Wonderful, relaxing vacation
This was our second time staying at this cottage. We came here last year as well and returned because we liked it so much the first time. The location is nice because it is not far from Boston and you don't have to deal with Cape traffic. With that said, its proximity to the Cape means that you can easily enjoy day trips there. We actually spent most of our time enjoying the cottage, the quiet beach and exploring Plymouth. The cottage is located near a dead end so it is quiet with little to no traffic. The property is waterfront so even if you are not at the beach, you can enjoy the beautiful view. The cottage is extremely clean and well maintained. The pictures in the listing accurately show the rooms. You cannot access the beach directly from the cottage but the public entrance is only a 2 minute walk. The beach itself is lovely and never crowded. It can be rocky depending on the tide and the water is cold but the trade-off is that it is not crowded. All of the people we encountered on the beach and on the street were friendly. The property manager was also friendly and very helpful. She even gave us some good restaurant recommendations. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives. We have a young daughter and we find it is perfect with her because we don't have to worry about her getting near the water while we are at the cottage. I think it would be a good place for people with or without children. Overall, we were very happy with our experience and plan to return again next year!

Owner response: Thanks so very much....we take pride in what we do.....so glad you and your family enjoyed the cottage.
We enjoyed this cottage so much we rented for 2 weeks next year. It's not fancy but feels like home and the view of the beach is spectacular. The surrounding community is very friendly and, unlike many others, has character and lots of trees. The cottage is clean and well maintained. We had a small problem with a faucet and someone came within hours to fix it. The rental agent is also most welcoming and helpful. We spent most of our time on the patio, the porch and walking on the beach. Manomet is away from the hustle and bustle of the Cape which we loved. Yet it is within 15 minutes of anywhere we wanted to go- a perfect location for relaxing or any other activities you could want. With only 1 bathroom, this cottage is best for a smaller group. We really appreciated the cable/internet access.
