Vista dos Mares is a well-appointed hilltop home with gorgeous views of both the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Our house sleeps 8 comfortably with 4 bedrooms/4 baths: Two bedrooms/baths in the main house, plus a private-entrance 1-bedroom/1 bath garden apartment below, and a private entrance studio apartment/pool house with another full bathroom, all with views of the Atlantic Ocean. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the dining room comfortably seats 8-10.
The highlight of Vista dos Mares is our 30' swimming pool and multi-level tiled decks, designed to fully complement the extraordinary panoramic Atlantic Ocean views. There is a glass block outdoor hot water shower and 4 separate patios with lounge chairs and tables: upper pool deck, lower pool deck, garden bedroom apartment terrace and, the bi-level orchid patio with Weber grill off the dining room. Other conveniences: full Wi-Fi, DVD/CD player, iPod dock, wet bar by pool, off-street parking for up to 6 vehicles.
At Vista dos Mares, the scope of tropical island living flows organically from its cozy right-at-home interior to its expansive multifaceted exterior. The primary attraction of the outdoor area – aside from the view - is our state-of the-art pool and decks. Enjoy the comfort of our home while you are on vacation in the tropics.
All the amenities are fresh, including plush towels, linens, pillows and mattresses --– just the way we like them. If you wish to do your own cooking, there is a modern, fully equipped kitchen conveniently open to the living room on one side and the dining room on the other. There is also a Weber gas grill on the dining room bi-level patio.
There are ceiling fans in every room of the house. It is fully air conditioned but we’ll bet you’ll rarely need it. Perched at one of the highest points on the island, the comfortable breezes constantly crisscross throughout the house from the “dos mares” -- seas on both sides. If you are choosing to rent an island home for your vacation, you probably already prefer to experience an island like a local. That’s our preference and so we’d like you to make our comfy home yours for your stay on the very special island of Vieques, Puerto Rico.

Awesome Island -- Amazingly Comfy Villa !!

This Villa has everything you need for a "feels like you live there" tropical island vacation. There are two beds/baths upstairs and two private entrance apartments downstairs. Great for couples who want to be together but also separate! The views are nothing short of breathtaking, totally panoramic of the Atlantic Ocean from the spectacular swimming pool (with outdoor shower)as well as of the Carribean Sea from the back barbeque deck. Kitchen is fully stocked and the house in general is decorated throughout with really fun decor touches, making it feel like someone's comfy home, not a showplace... We'll be back!

We stayed at Vista Dos Mares for a week from July 15th-July 22nd. This was our third time on the island, but our first time in this house. For this trip we had family and friends with us, and our daughter, Maggie, who is 20 months old. Our whole experience was a fantastic, and we will definitely book this same property next year. The pictures and description were right on target, and the house and views are even more breath-taking in person. It had EVERYTHING we needed- including beach toys that my daughter LOVED (even more than the ones I bought and spent $40 to ship to the house). Beach chairs, towels, coolers, condiments in the fridge, satellite TV and Sirius radio, shampoo, citronella candles- it was all there. Another nice thing was that we had access to all the shows she watches at home through the satellite TV, so she could watch Sesame Street and her other shows when we wanted to relax and have some down time. The wireless internet was fast and consistent- this made my hubby happy, as he could keep up with his fantasy baseball. Wendy, the property manager, was so helpful; she connected us with a rental place for the pack and play and car seat (Patty at "Nu to You"), recommended a place to stay the night before our rental started (Casa de Amistad- Julie was so sweet and the place was clean, cute and so cheap), and she helped us find a chef to make dinner for our first night (Zach in Vieques made a DELICIOUS meal- the mango sorbet and salsa were super yummy), and the babysitter we hired- Christine (she was sweet and professional, and even though I did not think I would be comfortable with having a complete stranger watch our daughter, my fears were at rest once I met Christine). There were a few plumbing issues when we were there, and Wendy had someone out immediately to take care of them. The best part of vacation was seeing how much our daughter enjoyed it. The house was so perfect- there was plenty of room to set her pack and play in our room. It was windy when we were there, so most of her days were spent with Daddy in the pool. The pool could not have been any more perfect for us. There are two levels, as shown in the picture, and a deeper part. The shallow parts were perfect for Maggie to "swim" around in and play with her toys. She spent hours upon hours in the pool. The set-up was so nice; we could watch her while we swam in the deeper part, or sat in the chairs and relaxed, but we didn't have to hold her. We will be back.
