Restoration Oaks Vacation/Retreat House recently underwent an in-depth remodel, making it a great choice for small to medium sized groups looking for comfort, convenience, and modern amenities—all in a natural, rustic setting. The Retreat House and adjoining Cookhouse (an additional cabin-like lounge area for playing games or just hanging out) are located directly off Highway 101, near the front of the property at Restoration Oaks Ranch—a 1,000 acre Cattle Ranch & Blueberry Farm near the Santa Ynez Valley.
The seemingly endless cattle trails and numerous dirt roads on the property, can be used for hiking, mountain biking, (several bikes are available) jogging, and walking, (for general safety, we strongly suggest always exploring in pairs or small groups). The Ranch is made up of rolling hills, mountains, canyons, and valleys, covered with grasses, oaks, sycamores and native California vegetation.
Wireless Internet, iPod ready sound system, Wii Gaming System, and a Kawaii piano, are a few of the extra touches that make the Retreat House at Restoration Oaks an enjoyable place to host retreats, family get-togethers, or for your next vacation getaway. There’s a revolving, three-way game table in the Cookhouse that changes from air hockey to ping pong to a 3/4 sized pool table. For a real ‘laid back’ treat, try star gazing. The lack of city lights seem to make the stars shine brighter than many are used to, and relaxing under the night sky is easily one of the least strenuous ways to spend the last part of your day.
The Retreat House is minutes away from many local wineries, the Chumash Casino, and the Danish town of Solvang (see listing for other local attractions). A large Albertson's Supermarket, CVS Pharmacy, Restaurants, and Blockbuster Video, among other convenient stores and shops, are just 5 minutes away in the town of Buellton, CA.

The outdoor surroundings at Restoration Oaks Ranch, and access to nearby attractions, are perfect for a retreat or vacation. We cherish the family get-togethers we've had at the Ranch, as well as quality time spent with friends there. We love the fact that others can also experience this uplifting environment and enjoy similar times when staying at the Ranch.
The Unique Benefits at this House
When I’m out riding on the roads, I feel like I'm a million miles away from civilization—but if I need something, I can drive for 5 minutes to town and get just about anything I want. I also enjoy picking and eating the fresh, seasonal blueberries we grow here and when I take the time to do it, photographing the native (almost untouched) landscape. Of course, the house itself is a joy to stay in. The air conditioning might be my favorite thing, but I also like the high end amenities we’ve built into the house. I especially enjoy playing the piano and listening to music at any time of day or night without having to worry about "bothering the neighbors". When friends stay at the house, or when our families get together, there's always plenty of parking and lots of room inside and out to divide into small groups and talk.
Google maps has a hard time keeping track of our address, so this marker is here to assist in finding the location of the Ranch and the Vacation/Retreat House.

Craig and Ika Jacks manage the Retreat House at Restoration Oaks for the owners—Dr. Rolland and Venetia Jacks of Santa Barbara. Working together with a respected and creative General Contractor, Ika and Craig's design ideas came to life as the house was remodeled and completely renovated this last year. They are currently finishing up work on some of the surrounding exterior areas and are pleased with the outcome.

So far we've been lucky to have some great guests for the last few months and every one of them has told us that our place is absolutely wonderful (or words to that effect).
