You can truly relax in this exceptional 5,000 square foot home, 1 mile from the main highway in Seneca, and only 7 miles from Clemson, opposite game day traffic. Enjoy this pristine lake by renting a boat from the Lake Keowee Marina which is within walking distance, or for a slower pace, you can kayak to one of many islands. A CANOE AND 3 KAYAKS ARE PROVIDED. Pack light! This home is very well equipped for families, including toys, games, beach towels, coolers, wet suits, etc. Stunning water and mountain views can be seen from any of the 3 large decks (each with a grill), the screened-in porch next to the sandbox with playhouse, or from the all-glass dining room with gourmet kitchen. Wireless internet is accessible anywhere in the house. There are 8 TVs with cable and DVD players, and ceiling fans throughout the house, as well as outside. Enjoy the natural beach with fire pit and kayaks. An outdoor shower makes for easy clean-up after the sandbox or beach. We have one high chair, and a new Pack-and Play stored in the laundry room. Please note that the house is child-friendly but not baby-proof.
Our very large gourmet kitchen with central island, 2 microwaves, and double oven is well stocked. The dining room seats 10, and overlooks the lake. The nearby breakfast bar seats 4. The huge 2 story great room has a stacked stone fireplace, TV, and stereo. The wall facing the lake is all glass. The spacious master suite has an attached sitting room which also overlooks the lake and opens out to the deck. The laundry room is large, with plenty of counter space, and a sink. Laundry supplies will be provided for your use.
Upstairs there is a second suite with a king bed and full private bath, IDEAL FOR ANOTHER COUPLE OR A SECOND FAMILY. Also on this level are 2 additional bedrooms which share a full Jack & Jill bath. The king suite and the other two bedrooms are on opposite ends of the house, divided by a bridge walkway. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan and flat panel TV with DVD player.
The lower level walks out onto a covered deck and a screened porch, both with lights and ceiling fans. The sand box with playhouse is adjacent to the screened porch, so small children can be watched from under a fan. There is a gas grill in the screened porch. Meals in the porch are easy with a second kitchen just inside on this level. A bar that seats 5 is adjacent to the kitchen. The game room has children's air hockey, shuffle board, TV for videos, and numerous toys for small children. In a separate room is a TV with cable, DVD and VCR. A full bath is also on this level. In addition to a sofa, there are blow-up beds with linens to accommodate additional guests.
There is a large deck made of Ironwood with plenty of seating along the water's edge walkway between the natural sandy beach with fire pit, and the floating dock which has a covered section with table and chairs, small refrigerator, ceiling fan, and deep water. There are kayaks, life jackets, and wetsuits available for your use. The upper-most deck off the great room and dining room has additional seating as well as a gas grill for meals inside or out. The view of the water and mountains is beautiful!
Unlike other lakes in our area, Lake Keowee's water levels are maintained year round, even at the expense of the lakes both upstream and down, if necessary.
The marina has a launch if you should choose to bring your own boat, and there is plenty of room to park a trailer at the bottom of the lower driveway at the house. Also nearby are two grocery stores and two pharmacies, each approximately 1.5 miles away. There are several restaurants and multiple fast-food choices within 5 miles, and the hospital is approximately 4 miles away.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR HOUSE IS ON A QUIET RESIDENTIAL STREET, AND OUR NEIGHBORS ARE NOT NECESSARILY IN VACATION MODE. THEREFORE, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT OUR HOUSE IS NOT SUITABLE FOR LOUD NOISE OR PARTIES, AND IS INTENDED TO BE FOR THE USE OF ADULTS RESPECTFUL OF OTHERS NEARBY.
PARKING IS LIMITED TO A MAXIMUM OF 4 VEHICLES.
LASTLY, PLEASE NOTE THAT WHILE FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN ARE OF COURSE WELCOME, THE FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE PARTY SIGNING THE RENTAL AGREEMENT MUST BE AT LEAST 35 YEARS OLD, AND MUST BE AN OCCUPANT OF THE HOUSE DURING THE TERM OF THE AGREEMENT. RENTING ON BEHALF OF GUESTS LESS THAN 35 YEARS OLD IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

Perfect location. Beautiful home. Having traveled from CT, it was wonderful to have the linens and paper goods already supplied in the house. The location allowed us to easily/quickly rent a boat (right around the corner) and get into town. There are beautiful views of the lake and mountains (but no sunset :(). There are so many outdoor spaces to hang out and all very comfortable. One last note... the owners were very easy to work with.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We...love...this ...house.The owners have thought of everything that makes the stay here enjoyable and they are a pleasure to work with. For those of you looking for the quick review, do not look any further! THIS IS THE HOUSE! My wife and I had been pining for a vacation on Lake Keowee for the past few years. Unfortunately, time and money had restricted us. Having been away for Mother's Day, I felt I owed her something special. I arranged for her parents and extended family to meet us at this gorgeous lake house as a surprise. The owners were extremely accommodating and the more we corresponded the more we realized what great people they are!. The house was originally booked for the entire summer and after spending a week here I can certainly understand why! A late cancellation allowed us the opportunity to book for a week in late July. This is not a typical rental home. It is incredibly well maintained, easily accommodated 6 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 nine year olds, has a fantastic location on the lake with the Tiki and Marina just around the corner, multiple decks for lounging / laying out, private beach that we never saw anyone else use and plenty of room for you to bring a boat.. The exterior property is also gorgeous. The pictures do not do this home justice. It is extremely well equipped as mentioned on the website. The home is equipped with the top of the line everything! It is very generous of the owners to share this property. We had the vacation of a lifetime and I became my wife's hero for bringing her family together in such a beautiful home on a fantastic lake. I recommend this property with the highest accolades! What a wonderful vacation house! Having 2 master bedrooms is great for 2 families sharing the house. The lower level provided spread out room for the teenagers, and play space and toys for the toddler. The beach is fantastic and the kayaks and canoe got a lot of use. Our boat tied up nicely next to the dock. We cooked comfortably in the kitchen and the large table with a view was great in the evening after a day in the sun. Could not have asked for more and hope to return next summer. With a grocery store and gas for the boat just down the street, we hardly left the property. We highly recommend this beautiful home! We had a great week swimming off the dock (gorgeous clear water) and from the large sandy beach. Every day we took the kayaks and canoe out on the lake and even built a fire and made s'mores one evening in the fire pit on the beach. We enjoyed renting a boat and taking the kids tubing and wake-boarding. It was such a pleasant surprise to find that we had so many choices for sitting out and enjoying the amazing views of the lake since there are tables and chairs at all different levels and locations on the property. The kitchen and dining area are beautiful and well-stocked with everything we needed to prepare nice family meals. The master bedroom has a lovely sitting room overlooking the lake where we enjoyed morning coffee. We made the short drives to whitewater rafting and a local waterfall which was a lot of fun too. What a great property! We enjoyed family and friends joining us and having the perfect space for everyone to visit (inside and out). With marina just around the corner it was nice to bring the boat as well. Owners were very accommodating and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful lake house. Lots of room, great location on the lake and just minutes away from Clemson. We had a great time the three nights we stayed and we are hopefully planning a trip back next year. The owners provided us with everything we needed from basic kitchen and bath supplies to brochures and info about the area. The house was immaculate and the views of the lake were beautiful. We didn't want to leave!!! About the owner: Jim is a physician who practices in Seneca, about 3 miles from the lake house, and so is nearby most weekdays. Diane is a retired nurse anesthetist, now at home with our 3 children. We've lived in the Upstate of SC Carolina since the early 1990s with this house as our primary residence until 2006, and can think of no other place we'd rather be. We are still only 30 minutes away, and could never completely leave this house, or the lake with mountains in the backdrop. Come visit, and you'll understand why.
