Bring your fishing boat to the lake, or fly your plane to nearby Inverness airport. This modern 3 bedroom/2.5 bath lakefront home in Central Florida is perfect for families or friends who like to vacation together, but also want plenty of space and privacy.

Constructed in 2001, this custom built home was designed and owned by an architect, and is now the current owner’s vacation home. All of the living space is located on the second floor, which includes a 50 foot covered porch that spans the “back side” of the house, providing a panoramic view of the lake.

The three bedrooms and two full baths will comfortably accommodate six people. The house has a spacious open floor plan with high ceilings, indoor and outdoor dining areas, gas fireplace, and 40 inch flat screen television.

The office/den located off of the master bedroom (separated by French doors) also provides an exceptional picture window view of the lake, and offers both wired and wireless internet access for keeping up with the "outside world."

The ground floor includes a large two car garage and half bath, covered patio and gas BBQ grill. A concrete walkway leads from the house to the lakefront deck and private floating boat dock.

This home is located in Floral City, a small residential community with several excellent restaurants, small grocery stores, gift and antique shops, and a convenient public library. It is approximately a 10 minute drive to the City of Inverness, the governmental and commercial center of Citrus County, which offers a variety of grocery, shopping, dining and entertainment options.

Of course, this is the heart of Florida, and there are several golf courses in the area, plus a driving range that is only a few minutes from the house. Also located within a half mile of the house is the Withlacoochee Trail, a 46 mile paved recreational trail for hiking, biking, and skating (no motor vehicles allowed).

In addition to the public boat ramps that provide access to the lakes and waterways in the area, Inverness Airport (X40) is only five miles from the house, providing convenient access to the area for private aircraft.

For visitors traveling to Florida on commercial airlines, the international airports in Tampa and Orlando are both approximately 65-70 miles from Floral City. So while this exceptional lakefront vacation home is off the beaten path and miles away from “big city” noise and traffic, it is still within easy driving distance of major airports, and all of the activities that attract visitors to Central Florida.

(PLEASE NOTE: It is very easy to spend entire days relaxing on the upstairs porch, watching the water, birds and other wildlife, however, getting to the second floor does involve climbing one flight of steps. So if stairs are an issue for anyone in your group, this home may not be the best choice for your vacation.)

NOTE: The water level of the lake does rise and fall throughout the year based on weather conditions, which may limit access to the dock by larger boats under extreme conditions.

Personal Currency Assistant

$700/week plus 9% Fla Tax.
Minimum rental 4 weeks - additional nights $100 per night.
$400 reservation deposit due within 7 days, through PAYPAL or by check.
$200 refund if reservation is canceled more than 60 days prior to arrival.
Full payment due 30 days prior to arrival.
On arrival the reservation deposit converts to a $400 refundable damage deposit.
A rental agreement confirming all details will be emailed for acceptance.

Why the Owner Chose Floral City

We spent several years traveling around Florida looking for the "right place" to build a retirement home for the future. We purchased property in this area and were almost ready to start construction when we discovered this house, and decided that there was no need to build something new. Although we have lived in Florida most of our lives, we had never visited Floral City until recently, because it is definitely off the beaten path, and we love it that way.

Golf, Fish and barbacue...what a life!

We spent the better part of last winter here and had an absolutely wonderful time..A beautiful home fully equipped with about anything you could wish for and the owners Hugh and Kitty are the kind of folks you would like to have living next door about as nice as anyone could be. The view off the deck is great and we took advantage by eating in most days. The lake and the fish are there so bring something to float on... We took our kayaks and they worked fine although for fishing I would have rather had my boat. Nice golf courses abound and most with reduced prices. The closest was Lakeside Country Club and we did play it a lot. World Woods if you want top shelf golf. They have a 9 hole executive course is first class as well and a lot less expensive. There is a driving range a short bike ride away from the house and the Withalachoochee (sic) bike and hike trail is at the most a mile away. The gulf coast is close and offers much to do... There are many churches nearby. If you are an Elk the nearby Inverness Elks offer a Friday night dinner dance they we frequently enjoyed. The Homosassa Elks off many activities as well. Oh, and if you like bagels there is a shop a few blocks away and I have to say they have the best bagels we've ever had and we live not to far from NYC. Don't leave without trying them..
