We arrived just after the first of January and here it is almost April already giving new meaning to “time flies when you’re having fun.” A beautiful home fully equipped with about anything you could wish for and very comfortable. The owners James and Sandra are the kind of folks you would like to have living next door, just about as nice as anyone could be. The large screened in porch is great for entertaining or just hanging out watching the mullet jump in the canal. Bicycles provided are great for touring the neighborhood and the provided double kayak gets you on the water. It’s just a short paddle to the river or take a leisurely trip through the marsh. Nice golf courses abound and most with reduced green fees. If you are an Elk the nearby Homosassa Elks offer a Friday night dinner and other activities including a great golf league. The Inverness Elks is about ½ hour away offering many activities as well, including our favorite their Friday night dinner dance. The Homosassa Wildlife Park is a must see and provides a very enjoyable day and is only minutes away, Oh, and if you like shrimp don’t miss the Freezer another very short drive. The best shrimp we have ever had! Don't leave without trying them. About a mile away is the Homosassa Smoke House and if you like ribs and pulled pork don’t miss it and be sure to add their Cole slaw to your order!

Spent two weeks ( Christmas & New Years 2011 ) at the River House and absolutely loved it. It was very comfortable and relaxing, had everything we needed. The availability of double Kayak and the bikes was a real plus and they got a lot of use. The new king size mattress in the master bedroom way excellent. We appreciated the separate living room and family room, each with large-screen TVs , met the diverse needs of our our family group. Watching the birds on the river from the dock and screened porch was enjoyable. Very quiet and peaceful but close to everything that Old Homosassa has to offer. It is a great place to stay, well appointed and beautifully decorated. We loved it and plan on returning.
Owner response:We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the river house. We do get many comments on the comfortable bed and other furnishings. Our goal is to make you feel like you are vacationing in the comforts of home. We are also pleased that you enjoyed watching the many birds and that you made good use of the kayak and bikes. See you next year!

We stayed in this lovely home for 4 nights so we could go scallopping over Labor Day weekend. This is the second time we stayed there and we love to stay. It is so comfortable and everything is there to make it feel like home. We definitely will go back, the only regrets we have is that we would love to stay longer. This year we even got a chance to go kayaking. It's close to everything that is important for what we want to do. The owners are also the best. They are prompt to answer any questions that we have and help us out in anywaythat they can. We feel very comfortable there and would recommend it to anyone.
Owner response:It was great to have your family back again. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our home on Brightwater Ct. We love sharing our home with our vrbo friends. It is our goal to have everything you need to make your vacation the best, and to have you return year after year. We look forward to having you back again next year!

Enjoyed 10 days at this highly desirable location during scallop season. The accommodations were fantastic. We had family and friends join us at various times throughout our stay here. The house was great for 2 or 10 people! Great location to access the river, and the Owners have made every effort to insure you have what you need to enjoy yourself.
Owner response:We are glad that you made this your scallop hunting headquarters and that you thought that the house felt like it was much bigger. We too like the open spacious rooms. We will look forward to hearing from your family next season.

We recently stayed for a week in this cute, roomy well maintained home. I had my boat docked right behind the home it was so easy to load and unload daily. A short idle through the canal placed you minutes from the gulf or the spring. We scalloped everyday in the gin clear gulf water and then finished our afternoon by swimming in the spring. We even found a tree swing to add to the fun. We grilled the scallops we caught and then we made smores on the fire pit after dinner. When the day was done, the kids had their own space to relax and watch movies. Can't wait to come back next year!
Owner response:Sal: Thank you so much for your review. I am glad your family had such a good time at our river house. Thanks also for the tips on cooking the scallops!! I am glad that you found the house very comfortable and found so many things to do in the area. We will look forward to having you return again next year.

We had a wonderful time here. The home was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed being on the water and just sitting on the dock watching the fish jump! We found the huge patio to be a favorite spot for dinner after cooking something up on the grill. Everything we needed was there... like a home away from home! We didnt go out much... but we did enjoy Homosassa Wildlife park. HELPFUL HINT... there is an entrance to the park on Fishbowl Drive. No need to go to the one on Hwy 19!! We really had a great time kayaking on the Homosassa River and riding bikes around the neighborhood. A very relaxing time :-) We hope to be back!
Owner response:We are so pleased that you had a relaxing vacation, and we are pleased that you found everything you needed at the house. We too enjoy sitting out on the dock and watching the fish jump!! Hope to see you again soon.

This is a wonderful vacation home with absolutely everything provided. The listing and the description are very accurate. The home was very clean, comfortable and spacious and we loved having our boat right outside the door. We also enjoyed the Homosassa area and the laid back enrivonment. We stayed one month and were on the water most days, fishing, touring and looking at manatees and dolphins. We highly recommend this home.
Owner response:Thank you for your comments in our guest book. We are so glad that you enjoyed our river retreat, and we are glad that it worked well with your boat rental. It certainly was a good rate that you received from the Manatee Marina. It is always so pleasant to sit on the porch and look out at the water, but even more fun when you get out in the boat. We always love seeing the dolphins as we are going out of the canal and in to the edge of the Gulf. We will look forward to seeing you again next year.

We loved this home, it had everything that you could ever need for a great stay, however long you want to stay. The boat dock was easy to pull in and out with our boat and the canal out to the river was good too. It was close to everything. The owners are very helpful with any questions that we had beforehand and very cooperative. We will definitely use this place again.
