Spectacular Christmas!!!!

Guest: Santiago L.
Date of Stay: 12/24/11 Review Submitted: 04/02/12

My family and my wife's family spent 4 days during the Christmas holidays at Hacienda Clemente Jacques and Villa San Clementito. The stay was memorable and unforgettable!! One of our best holidays ever!! Both houses were really beautiful and impressively decorated for Christmas, the weather was fantastic and the staff at both houses very friendly and helpful at any time. We enjoyed every single place at both houses: the swimming pools, the tennis court, the jacuzzi, the gardens, the patios, the living rooms… EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. During the four days, we were more than 25 people for different countries and every single person who stayed at the houses was completely shocked, impressed and speechless by the beauty and charm of the houses and their location. During the months before our arrival Patricia was extremely helpful and collaborative and made all the organization very simple for us (even though we were in Europe). She is lovely and we will always remember her. There is no doubt that we will come back one day. Not sure when but we will for sure.

Owner response:And while we love all our guests, we particularly were fond of helping this beautiful young couple celebrate their wedding.

Beautiful and very comfortable getaway in Mexico's magical "Tepoz"

Guest: chilangringa (Mexico City)
Date of Stay: 07/08/11 Review Submitted: 09/14/11

Just it is on the owner's website: that's how it looks, that how it is. The staff is very capable, kind, and attentive. And if you're into cooking, you'll have everything you need to cook, barbeque, etc., though they can do all that for you and very well. The houses are both very well-appointed. Great for dogs, too! This is a place for people who want a private and comfortable to rest, relax, swim, maybe go ride a horse, enjoy spectacular scenery, and maybe (or maybe not) venture into town. I have stayed several times over the past few years, often with large groups plus dog, and can only give glowing praise all around. It's not cheap, but if this is what you want, you more than get what you pay for. It's the best place to stay in Tepoz.

Incredible Retreat, Vistas, Service!!

We just returned from a 6-night birthday getaway at Villa San Clementito. WOW!!! The photos do not do this beautiful casa justice. This place is incredibly lovely, perfectly sited to capture amazing views from every angle and window of the house. The outside patios and terraces are charming and comfortable. Even in the summer rain, we loved it - very cozy inside for reading day or night or just hanging out. The staff was friendly and well-trained - great service and wonderful breakfasts and comidas prepared by Teresa the chef (and Felipe the grill maestro). We just loved our stay here in this very special property in the magical, mystical valley of Tepoztlan. A huge plus for us: we were able to bring along our two dogs, and the whole property was very dog friendly, fenced and gated, with a large field for running and even special dog steps in the pool. Nacho and Tope loved their vacation, too! We were without a car, but it was easy to taxi into the town. However, we were totally content simply to stay put and enjoy the house and grounds.

An absolutely beautiful wedding

Guest: Glenda (Plymouth, Minnesota USA)
Date of Stay: 01/21/11 Review Submitted: 02/19/11

Our family celebrated the wedding of my son here at Pattie's lovely hacienda. The whole group of 16 family and friends were absolutely delighted with the delicious meals, the beauty of the mountains and the warm hospitality offered by Pattie, and the whole staff who many times went beyond the call of duty to care for us. We loved this place so much that we know we will return. The gorgeous landscaping, the views of the gentle mountains, the swimming pool and tennis courts all were enjoyed each day. We loved going into the town, meeting the people and enjoying the market . Many took the hike to the top of the mountain and thoroughly enjoyed that adventure. Thank you for sharing this incredible world of Tepoztlan and the hacienda with us!

"I feel very blessed to teach in Mexico once a year, have been doing this for over a decade and a half, and one of the highlights to my trip is staying at this hacienda in Tepoztlan. About 7 years ago, I had the pleasure to connect with Pattie Hogan, owner, of Villa San Clemencito, and Hacienda Jack's. Both places where designed beautifully, in the old Mexican tradition, and it’s kept beautifully by the care takers that live in the compound, that also take care of the client's, needs, cooking if desired, hauling bags up and down the stairs, getting a masseuse to come by for a message, as well as getting taxi's to visit the center of town, only a few minutes drive. The hacienda San Clemcito is a wonderful place to stay; you have privacy, three ample bedrooms, with private bath's, as well as having a half bath near the living room. Well equipped kitchen and wet bar. It has a Jacuzzi, a lap pool, pool table, phone, cable TV that we never used, too much to do, beautiful view of the mountains, and for those needing a wi-fi system, there's one though out the hacienda. The people tending the hacienda are wonderful; they are discrete, and very helpful. I would recommend this home to anyone wanting peace, privacy, near town, with a Mexican home “ambiente,” and all the amenities you would want. Enjoy..." Luis

My family and I had a wonderful time at Villa San Clementito. Everything that we need in order to unwind is there -- a chef's kitchen, the jacuzzi, beautiful views, fresh air, child-friendly hiking trails, plenty of books. The staff was could not be more helpful - they even got a baby tub for my five-month old! The experienced grandmother on staff will look after your infant so that tired parents can enjoy some quite time in town. Even our dog had a great time! We look forward to going back soon.

MARCH, 2010 My wife and I enjoyed returning to Hacienda San Clementito for a ten day stay in March, 2010. It has become more beautiful with time. The views are fabulous, the accommodations are delightful, the tranquility is constant. There are dozens of rooms, a nice swimming pool, and there is even a free-standing and spacious chapel, where, as an Episcopal priest, I have done services in the past.Security is top notch. First of all, there is not much crime in the area. Secondly, it is well out from town. Next, there are three locked gates. Additionally, the live-in help are watchful, their dogs act as guard dogs, and the Hacienda is well back from the road.Patty the owner is wonderful. She is caring, charming, and informative. With long experience in the real estate world of Mexico, she runs a great operation. The people she has working for her will bend over backward to help any of the guests. They speak a bit of English, but they understand more. Even though my Spanish is not excellent, I could easily communicate with them in English only.My wife and I would jaunt into town daily and shop in the town square market for the fresh, beautiful fruits and vegetables and meats for our meals. How relaxing and what great fun! While there I had to visit a dentist and a physician. Patty, of course, gave me two recommendations. One saw me the day I called and the other saw me the next day. Medical and dental care in Mexico is always gentle, unrushed, thorough, compassionate, and not expensive. I have been to ambassadors’ residences in Japan, Thailand, Austria, and Mexico. I can assure you that Patty’s hacienda in Tepotzlan is as elegant as any one of them. It is also an island of tranquility. The Rev. Douglas Carter Tampa, Florida

Our family stayed over the Christmas New Year's break and had a wonderful time! The property is more beautiful than the pictures. The staff was warm and welcoming and very accommodating - plus they were wonderful cooks, anxious to make our visit memorable. The location was central to all of our day trips, as well as the few days we stayed and wandered around Tepoztlan - a wonderful destination by itself. I highly recommend the villa to all - we would go back tomorrow if we could!

A jaw-dropper of a casa. I loved the open concept of the colorful living/dining room areas, leading to the wonderful grounds. The bedrooms were comfortable and airy, the staff couldn't have been sweeter, and if I could have moved in forever I would have.

The Hacienda and Villa are incredible homes in what I refer to as a 'bit of paradise.' The homes are beautifully decorated and located in a serene, protected area, yet close to town and convenient to several large cities. Rest assured, no matter the reason for your travels, you will be welcomed and confortable at the compound and there is something for everyone in Tepoztlan: tranquility, history, photography, art, hiking, shopping, etc. The hostess, Ms. Hogan, is very gracious and knowledgeable about the area and happy to help with any special interests or needs. She maintains a very attentive and friendly staff. I have stayed at the Villa San Clementito several times with family and friends and I highly recommend the Villa or Hacienda as a wonderful vacation destination.

Over the years we have brought many friends to the Villa and the Hacienda and the reaction is always the same: " What a beautiful, serene place." The setting is stunning, both the Villa and the Hacienda are lovely and comfortable, and the staff is delightful. The area has enough local trips of interest to keep even the most active guest interested.

Comment Text: Staying here far exceeded our expectations. Not only are the property and views gorgeous, but we had special circumstances and Pattie and the staff went above and beyond for us. We are in their debt and now consider them all to be dear friends. We will definitely be back and are happy to recommend Villa San Clementito without reservations.

We will be returning this weekend for our third weekend in 6 months. Truly the most relaxing get-away just 1 1/2 hours outside of Mexico City. The Hacienda has hammocks and plenty of comfortable chairs scattered around the patios and courtyard to take in the ambience of the Tepoztlan mountians and countryside. The staff is wonderful and can prepare marvelous meals. The hacienda is tastefully decorated and has a flat screen tv, music, books, tennis rackets, etc. to keep both parents and teenagers content. We look forward to enjoying another weekend in Tepoztlan.

The pool table was a great distraction for the girls. The first thing Justine said when we walked in was "Why don't WE live here?" Your attention to detail really shows. It's great to have the booklet and the notes all around explaining things. We were in heaven with your music system! We never had to get up.... and you had everyone from James McMurtry to Springsteen and great blues. Thanks!!! The nice towels and pool toys, flip flops and raquets really add a nice touch and made us feel at home. Having the refreshments available at a reasonable price was great too. The walkie talkies came in handy and the girls used them to ask to see all of your dogs. The family was very gracious in showing them the dogs and explaining things like the crazy cricket noise to the girls. All in all, I'm kicking myself for not going earlier so that we could return! You and your home will always come to mind when we think of the best of Mexico. Thank you again!

We had a wonderful time in Tepoztlán. This vacation had been a dream for us for so many years. Staying in Villa San Clementito was perfect. Everybody had privacy because of its perfect lay out. The big family meals and game evenings were possible because of the big table in the spectacular living room. Our early morning coffee on the terrace with the view, breakfast prepared by Manuela, hikes with Don Abraham, tennis, welding, soccer with Felipe and family, all are memories we cherish and will never forget. We are thinking of having a big family reunion in the future. Thanks Pattie.Katharina

This place is incredible - one of the lovliest homes in the area and highly recommendable for a week to a month! In the winter of 2001 we came to Tepoztlan to find a home, and for 6 weeks stayed with Ms. Hogan at her Villa. The home is extraordinarily beautiful, not only the setting and exterior, but the interior furnishings and colors as well - the home has immense charm and "livability". We have since rented our own home with plans to purchase, and have had family and friends stay at Ms. Hogan's Villa - all visitors have left very satisfied and are planning to return to Tepoztlan and Villa San Clementito!

We want to give a special thanks for the Newcomers Club of Mexico City. This article appeared in their May newsletter 2005. A WEEKEND TRIP TO BE REPEATED-HACIENDA SAN CLEMENTE, TEPOZTLAN, MORELOS "It took us a while to get our act together, but finally headed south towards Tepoztlan for our weekend trip. Tepoztlan is located about 1.5 hours from Mexico City depending on the traffic in the city and at the toll booth. But we were lucky and arrived well spirited in time for a sundowner to be enjoyed on the big outside tarrace by the pol and hot tub. The Hacienda sits on a mountain top and is on ten acres of scenic terrain. We enjoyed an undisturbed magnificent view of the surrounding craggy mountains, jagged cliffs and into the valley. It stormed on Saturday night and the views of the lightning from the mountains to the valley were incredible. The house itself is decorated nicely, a fusion of the charms of Mexico with the most modern conveniences. It gives you an instant feeling of being exactly where you want to be. The really professionally equipped kitchen will let every cook's heart beat faster. You want to have a five course meal? No problem, you'll easily find all the china, glasses, cutlery, that you could ever need. We slept very soundly in the fresh air and the quiet surroundings. In the mornings we heard roosters cock-a-coodle-doing and cow bells from a far distance--haven't heard that in a long time. So nice! The little town of Tepoztlan is definitely worth a visit with its typical Mexican market on the weekend where you can find Mexican Artesania, contemporary art, nice restaurants. The Mercado has fresh products and small eateries. Some of the last Hippies found their home so you feel that a psychedelic touch has been added to the village. For the sporty ones among us, you can climb up to the pyramid, situation about 400m above Tepoztlan. it took us about an hour and a lot of water to get up there, but the view from the top made it worthwhile.

Words cannot express the beauty of HSC, the graciousness and warmth extended by Manuela and her family, the peacefulness of sitting on the terrace watching the golden light as the sun sets over the cliffs. We hiked, we walked, we went to market, we sat in the jacuzzi, we ate and drank, played a little tennis and pool and just marveled at the privilege of calling this spot home for the week. We are recommending you and your most extraordinary house to everyone who asks how was the week...and we would love to think we can return and enjoy it once again.
