My name is Carol and I live in Michigan. I purchased this home for the purpose of retirement. I am still involved in my home based business as a marketing representative for the Melaleuca Wellness Company. I am a proud mother of two children, along with 7 seven grandchildren. We all share great love for our home on Burt Lake and look forward to the days when we are there year round.
Why the Owner Chose Indian River
I camped for many years with my children in various locations in Michigan, we were always drawn back to Burt Lake. We have many friends and family who also own homes on Burt Lake.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
My family and I enjoy the evening sunset, once you have seen it, is forever in your memory. We also enjoy the Christmas holiday in Northern Michigan, the kids enjoy the skiing and sledding and the adults enjoy snowmobiling and cross country skiing, along with good times and good friends.

We arrived at the property and it was everything that we were expecting and more. It was so spacious with plenty of privacy for everyone. We had four couples (family) and there was enough room to spead out that no one felt that they we to crowded. We had a pontoon that we got to park right out the back and could sit on it, play games and still be close to the house. It was close enough to town that we could ride our bikes into town and visit the public beach. The locatrion was great for visiting Mackinaw City and go over to the island and we also visited two different casinos within a half hour from the house. One thing that we did miss was a fire pit that was basically the down part of this place. I would definitely recommend this place to any one that wanted a place to go with their family or friends.

Wow........What a surprise! From the moment you pull up to the “Cottage” one will find the grounds & landscaping show a pride of ownership. As you pass through the side entry door, a full sized Kitchen & Dinning Area (seats 6+ with comfort) awaits you. The main living quarters are well appointed with planked flooring, a large stone fire place, and generous comfortable seating for viewing television or VCR’s & DVD’s, all with a well stocked library of movies provided. Bed rooms are spacious & will sleep a total of ten in the five bedrooms that are on site. Bathrooms are above the norm and artfully done. Laundry has full sized washer & dryer and a one vehicle garage w/door opener round out just some of the amenities. Everything regarding the listing information was accurate & up to date, the process of securing the rental was easy and owner was a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend this Northern Michigan property for that special vacation retreat/holiday and will return to enjoy the creature comforts of all the “Burt Lake Area” has to offer. We are so looking forward to returning with our adult children & their familes with room to spare for a family reunion. P.S. Rember to enjoy the fine Italian cuisine at Vivio’s in town; the Lasagna was to die for!

The cottage on Burt Lake was as advertised and made a comfortable home for our group of 8 boaters. The convenience of docking on the canal was wonderful. The Inland Waterway offers great boating and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We could have used instructions for operating the TV and never did figure out the system. Overall, this rental is highly recommended.
