Why the Owner Chose OurayOuray is one of the most beautiful places we ever traveled through, so we were thrilled to be able to own property here. This wooded property is located in the north corridor of the city limits, nestled between the canyon walls and only a short walk to the river trail, hot springs pool, or even downtown.
The Unique Benefits at this HouseEnjoy the surrounding beauty of the San Juan Mountains. View Mt Abrams and the canyon walls from the comfort of a recliner in the living room or while enjoying meals on the patio. If you are lucky, some wild life may wonder through the property. A two mile river walk is across the street. Walk/jog, snowshoe/cross country ski the loop or use it to walk to the hot springs or into town. There is so much to see and do. There are winter and summer activities. Our vacation home is 0.7 mile from the Ouray hot springs and 8 miles from Orvis hot springs. The nearest airports are in Montrose (35 miles) and Telluride (50 miles). Ouray and Telluride offer jeeping and hiking (guided or self); museums, quaint shops, and restaurants. The town of Ridgway (10 miles) offers the same activities along with kayaking, canoeing, boating, fishing, and the Ridgway State Park/Reservoir. Winter allows for cross country skiing, alpine skiing, ice climbing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing.
Owner's Map of Ouray
After visiting Ouray since 1987 we finally decided to become part of this magnificent place. We love sharing our little piece of paradise and continue to encourage family and friends to visit. Every one of them has expressed how beautiful this area is and can now see why we moved here. We've had tons of fun in the San Juan Mountains. Winter is our favorite time of year with plenty of snow fall followed by blue sky days and fantastic skiing in Telluride.

My family and I (total of six) stayed the week in the Stone House and loved it. More than enough room and very comfortable. The pictures and description are spot on. Everything was very clean and well kept. Pattie, the owner was very helpful and easy to work with. If you're looking to stay in the Ouray area you won't fing a better place than the Stone House. Thanks again Pattie.

We stayed at the Stone House for two nights with one other family. We all loved it. The kitchen was well equiped, the home nicely decorated and the beds were all very cozy! We had a total of 8 people and were very comfortable. Pattie was very helpful and it was great to rent from a local. If we are crazy enough to do Imogene again next year we hope to stay at this great spot again!
Owner response:Thank you for your wonderful review Mindy. Hope to see you and your friends again next year.

We had a short 3 night stay at this house and it was VERY much what we were looking for. Four adults 50-60 and it seemed like home to me.VERY worth the price and a good location. Ouray is awesome and would love to go back but theres just too much more of Colorado to see.
Owner response:Thank you for the kind words. If you are ever back in Ouray, please look us up. Would love to have you stay at the house. Happy vacationing! :)

We were able to fit both our grown children and spouses and our grandchild in this space. It was clean and comfortable. The town of Ouray was fun and provided lots of hiking and waterfalls, hot springs and interesting shopping. We had a great time.
Owner response:Thank you Dawn for the review. It was great meeting you and your husband. I look forward to seeing you again in the future. Take care and have a great summer!

This is a very comfortable, spacious house with ample storage for all of our clothing (large closets!!) and outdoor gear. We stayed for one week and enjoyed the proximity to town and Ridgway. We enjoyed meeting Pattie the night of our arrival; she oriented us to the house and made us feel very welcome. She even came back after it snowed to shovel the entry to the driveway. We found it to be very dog-friendly, with a private yard away from the road. In addition, it is within walking distance of the river path. There's even a dog-door with a small fenced enclosure for dogs. The view of Mt. Abrams from the living room is amazing. We would definitely stay in this house again. Thanks Pattie!

We had such a nice time in Ouray and staying at the Stone House! The view of Mt. Abrams from the living room and patio was awesome (snow capped one morning!). The house was very spacious and clean, clean, clean. The king bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. Close to town, we loved being able to walk to the path running along side the river. Thanks, Pattie! Hope to stay with you again.

Our trip to Ouray this year was a working vacation and the “Stone House” was the perfect getaway! We were able to hold a small business meeting there on the spacious patio and our guests were very impressed. The house is so private, away from the highway noises and the crowds in town, yet close enough to enjoy any of the amenities Ouray offers.
Owner response:I want to thank everyone for their kind words. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you on your next vacation. Take care. :) (Rather than respond publicly, I have been responding personally to each guest.) Pattie
