Welcome to Papakea H401 at North Kaanapali Beach! You are viewing a very unique condominium in West Maui with a really beautiful ocean view. The unit is very well equipped, nicely furnished, and was renovated in August/September 2009. We are offering a great price of $129.00 per night through December 18, 2009 (no minimum night stay required).
If you prefer an open, soaring feeling on your Maui vacation, please consider this top-floor, end unit condominium at the Papakea Resort. We selected this particular unit after looking at the West Maui area for several years. We like the view of the well-maintained grounds, which include lush vegetation, 'koi' ponds, swaying coconut palm trees, the swimming pool, tiki torches, and of course, the Pacific Ocean! You can also watch sailboats go by and gaze at the Island of Molokai from your very own lanai.
This particular unit also has a view of the West Maui mountains through the large window in the living room. Papakea has significant acreage (13 acres), and the buildings are only four stories high. Only the top floor units provide you with the cathedral ceilings and the loft area. The loft in unit H401 is furnished with a queen-sized bed, and two twin beds. This was done to accommodate as many guest sleeping combinations as possible.
The unit is air conditioned. However, because of the orientation of the H Building to the West Maui Mountains, you experience the fantastic, gentle breeze that naturally flows through the unit. Except for the very hottest month or two, we have found air conditioning to be unnecessary! What better way to enjoy Maui - the fresh mountain air and sea breezes. At night you can hear the ocean waves breaking on the beach.
Significant upgrades were made to the unit when we first purchased it in 1999. Recent upgrades completed on September 6, 2009 include new countertops, new hall mirrored doors, new faucets, new bathroom sink, new microwave over the stove, and fresh paint. The unit has tiled floors in the hallway, bathroom, and kitchen. The living room and master bedroom are carpeted, as is the loft.

Maui has been rated as one of the top destinations by leading travel magazines for years. We agree! We particularly love West Maui because you can stay as busy as you like, or you can relax, "hang loose". We felt that if we enjoyed this area so much, others would, too. We also felt it would be a great long-term investment for our family.
The Unique Benefits at this Condominium
Looking out over the spectacular Papakea gardens, pools, Tiki Torches at night, and the Island of Molokai from our 'lanai' is our most enjoyable benefit. From Papakea you can walk to the beach quickly, walk to a nearby beach park, rent snorkeling gear, surfboards, and other water equipment. There are farmers markets, restaurants, and shops very close by. Our boys particularly love what we call "buffo hunting" at night. The big Hawaiian frogs (buffos) will be out around the pools, and we sneak up on them and gently grab them behind the ears! It's fun!
Across the street from Papakea is the local supermarket (Star Market, 808-667-9590), shops, small restaurants, water sports rentals. Convenient & a great savings when compared to the resort prices.
Hawaii has a famous chain of 'convenience stores' called ABC Stores. One is conveniently located directly 'mauka' (toward the mountain) from Papakea. It even has a gas station!
Visit this Mon-Wed-Fri, 7AM to 11AM - fresh island produce and goodies! Say aloha to 'Prince' and the ladies!
